@OntDinRS another anime fan, i agree that a properly forged katana is better in every way but a good katana is as you would call it recycled crap, the cheness 9260 spring steel series can out preform any tamahagane sword. they're not folded or differentially hardened. being fat has fuck all to do with it, when you see someone shooting you probably wouldn't say if you were serious about shooting you wouldn't be fat. doing this is like shooting clay targets with a shotgun.
The number of folds in steel means a more complex pattern, thus the more complex the pattern, the more effort spent on creating the weapon or tool. Factory manufactured steel cut-out swords aren't worth the metal they're wasting. $50, what a joke.

The first requires little to no athletic effort, whilst using a sword in battle requires speed and reactions, you would train if you were seriously interested in swordsmanship, meaning you would not be fat. If you do indeed train or do something such as kendo, then you aren't training properly nor are you training efficiently.

@DonutTheTrap depends how hard and also your edge alignment (the path of the cutting edge while going through a target), i've cut bamboo with mine and no edge rolling, it's a pretty decent carbon steel and holds an edge pretty well.

bladed weapons are stupid in a zombie apocalypse, getting infected blood everywhere, you got one open wound n yer a zombie too, beyond that they hafta get way closer than i'd like them to be. Beyond that you can have a shotgun all day but with no ammo yer fucked. and a shotgun holds 8-9 rounds max, with a long tube, and thatll start getting scary without proficiency in the rapid handling and reloading of a shotgun. not fun. id want mag fed, semi-auto, and smaller rounds, carry lots.
you know youd be way better off with something more along the lines of a modern military rifle. high capacity, semi-auto, easy to maintain, common ammo.. a sword also requires you to be in pretty great shape. go for a run, feels good, now go for a run while you swing a sword around at mortal enemies, fearing for your life, ensuring that they are mortally wounded. how long ya think ya could do that for?

first off........i like the technique........second.......i love the fact you have respect for your cutting enviornment(hoseing it off after cutting)........and i know you probably hate getting advice on damn youtube..........but you should always re-sheath the blade after every finished cut.....(to show respect for the blade)....and to keep yourself and those around you safe.....(to maintain the blade itself good old " diving silicon spray" keeps it from rusting....
@donmiguelgascon420 true that, this was the first time i handled a live sword so i didn't know what the hell. i'll check out that diving silicon spray, although i've never had much trouble with rusting from these swords and they're like not very good carbon steel. i usually just squirt some gun oil or wd40 on a paper towel and wipe it down.

@mindfreaks46 don't put too much faith in tv shows like deadliest warrior or whatever. plus i dunno where even to look for a human skull. i could spend around $200 and get a sword that's capable of slicing through human flesh and bone with almost no edge damage. search "cheness o katana destructive test" and click the first video.

Katana and Tachi are both curved. Ninjato is a straight blade. There are difference between the two but sometimes it's very hard to distinguish between the two. You should probably learn your stuff. before trying to be smart.
@JDK1981 katana is the generel description for sword in japan today. but before that, in feudal japan, it was a kind of first attribution for the very first samurais. the tachi sword is much more longer in opposed to the traditional katana 刀. the blade of taichi 太刀 is even more curved too...

@duocore2xtra they were also longer so i've heard. but in the defense of people who know more about swords than me, this katana was based on the style popular in the something or another era with a shorter handle. during the feudal japan era the swords were built to the person who used it with the handle being long enough so that when held one handed, the pommel (kashira) would be in the crook of the arm in the elbow, for me it would be like 13 inches, this handle is only 10 inches.

2. Being a sword enthusiast isn't even remotely related to body shape. You can be interested in swords all you want without actually training.
3. There is not a big difference in using a gun and using a sword. They both require effort.

bladed weapons are stupid in a zombie apocalypse, getting infected blood everywhere, you got one open wound n yer a zombie too, beyond that they hafta get way closer than i'd like them to be. Beyond that you can have a shotgun all day but with no ammo yer fucked. and a shotgun holds 8-9 rounds max, with a long tube, and thatll start getting scary without proficiency in the rapid handling and reloading of a shotgun. not fun. id want mag fed, semi-auto, and smaller rounds, carry lots.

first off........i like the technique........second.......i love the fact you have respect for your cutting enviornment(hoseing it off after cutting)........and i know you probably hate getting advice on damn youtube..........but you should always re-sheath the blade after every finished cut.....(to show respect for the blade)....and to keep yourself and those around you safe.....(to maintain the blade itself good old " diving silicon spray" keeps it from rusting....

Katana and Tachi are both curved. Ninjato is a straight blade. There are difference between the two but sometimes it's very hard to distinguish between the two. You should probably learn your stuff. before trying to be smart.

@duocore2xtra they were also longer so i've heard. but in the defense of people who know more about swords than me, this katana was based on the style popular in the something or another era with a shorter handle. during the feudal japan era the swords were built to the person who used it with the handle being long enough so that when held one handed, the pommel (kashira) would be in the crook of the arm in the elbow, for me it would be like 13 inches, this handle is only 10 inches.
