I think it all comes down to who you feel more connected to. I think Lois went way overboard with being confident (it's almost a caricature). She answers way too quick to questions along the road wich makes her a bit impulsive. I make an exception in the case of Impulse / The Flash (Bart Allen) since such characteristics fit with the fastest man alive but doesn't suit Lois.

lois doesn't compliment anyone and she is too lightweight intellectually for Clark. She might or might not realize that until she gets drunk and realizes how 'special' she is to him.
i completely agree drlee2! lana and clark was very boring. but with clark and lois there is so much more passion, but in a non soppy way.
lana and clark was just too soppy and sickening, i dont know why and i didnt like clark when he was around lana, he seemed less of a man. but when he is with lois , he's seems more confident and even funnier.
i like the clip of when lois talks about being top dog, and clark says " you like to be ontop got it" lol
God, this show is amazing... Season 8 is 'Smallville' at its best; unlike a lot of these kind of shows (I.e. teeny-bopper shows that never grow up), it matured with its original target demographics.
