Sure, good stuff, like the Holocaust. While the guy plays with the guitar, his grandfather tore the nails of the Jews with a pincer. This is intended as a sarcastic comment... but also not. : (
I talk to this guy every year at NAMM. He's a Hughes & Kettner guy. SUPER gifted guitarist with mountains of finese, and he's a pretty nice dude too !!
Yeeah, this is how the Strat should be used. I love the tone - distorted but still Stratocaster. The right benchmark. H&K should pay this guy like a sheikh.
@sfentonas11 it is...thats true you can hear the amp - they are (at least to me very toppy) but that suits a strat - especially a great sounding one... its a great sound but maybe with other guitars its too toppy... I did use some H&K before but never bought one.... the strats on the other hand... I have a few... ;-)
i have a mesa rectoverb i'll trade someone for a USA fender deluxe strat:) and yes i'm serious. this just made me want my strat even more, lol. i prefer maple fretboards but, whatever.
Once your at that level, practice is not as important as playing from heart. His noodling took care of the technical stuff as well as touch. When the whole song come together, he can just let out the emotion and soul he has. You should hear some of his other stuff. I have two of albums and they will blow you away, especially Paul's Blues......incredible.
The way he uses his volume knob, how he's constantly switching pickups, his mastery of that quirky old vibrato system...I have never seen anyone who is so very tight-knit with his electric guitar.

Yeah Thomas Blug is an amazing guitarist! In fact, I think he has become my new favorite guitarist. Be sure to check out some of his other songs, because they are all incredible!
The magic of a Hughes & Kettner stack, I know i'll probably get shot down by a bunch of Marshall fanboys/girls, but in my opinion they can't be beaten. Try one out at a guitar shop, you'll be amazed!!!

this is so much better than all those dickhead guitarists that basicly wank on their gutiar doign some hell fast shredding thing that sounds the same everytime. this is real guitaring
That was a fucking clinic! Just what he did with his bends alone any guitarist can learn from. He reminds me of Gary Moore at times with occasional suggestions of Jeff Beck. He milks everything proper and how spins up to his vibrato is killer! The dynamic control was also excellent. Thanks for posting this!

Unfortunately I'm far too poor to own either of these amps, else I'd dial in the tone and give a sound recording :(
There's no reason why you couldn't get this sound from these amps though, considering they're supposed to be able to pretty much do it all.
HywelEd 2 years ago
"There's no reason why you couldn't get this sound from these amps though, considering they're supposed to be able to pretty much do it all."
Fatal flaw right there, my friend. There's no such amp, except for maybe the Axe-Fx, but it's a digital simulator, not an amp.
