  • nice vid. what kind of camera do you use for this?

  • Thank you. I used a Canon SD1100 point & shoot camera mounted on my dash. I have the CHDK hack installed in it and had it set to shoot 1 frame per second. Resolution was 640 x 480. I then made the avi files using a free program called photolapse and then just took the completed avi files into my editing program (Ulead 9.0 in this case) and added the titles and music and that's pretty much it.

  • Oh yeah, this video is kind of a "test run" for a somewhat more ambitious timelapse travel project I hope to do next month when I fly to Vegas for a quick trip. I'm hoping to get a so-called "fly-lapse" video of the 2 1/2 hour flight from Dallas to Vegas. I have a suction cup camera mount that's just the right size to fit on the window for a nice stable view. I only hope the flight attendants don't give me any grief about it. We'll see.

  • Hey, let me know how the New Star trek expirence is. I'm going on Holloween

  • Just got back from Vegas yesterday. I didn't get a chance to check out the new home of the Experience because I was trying to cram a bunch of other activities in to the two days I had there. Oh well, another time perhaps...

  • Quickest trip I ever took - thanks for taking me along! Whatta ride, 5/5 stars! How many gas stops did you have to make? =]

  • Thank you. I didn't have to make any gas stops. I had rented a car for the weekend (a Pontiac G6) and I used only about half a tank.
