  • hello!

  • Excellent video, especially for a fan of MIPS like myself! Thanks for sharing.

  • I am confused, why is the Acorn computer running the Amiga demo?

  • @SNK038 The AMIGA Bouncing Boing Ball demo inspired many in the industry and became a common object of demonstration on various micros at the time. Acorn implemented it on the Archimedes RISC Machine which is the root of all ARM systems, I implemented it on the Sinclair QL. See my videos "AMIGA alike animation"...

  • @SNK038 No, is just a "amiga like" demo. Reprogrammed for Archimedes. To say the truth, this kind of demo means nothing of precise but, at time, was popular...

By the way, ARM processor of Archimedes is fast, but running at 4 Mhz it was long far from emulating a complex machine like AMIGA. Amiga emulation remained quite impossible for 20 years becoming realistic since few years, with GigaHerz pentiums!

  • @SettimaLegione ARM chips on the Archimedes run at least at 8 Mhz where they deliver 4 MIPS, 5 times the power of the Motorola 68000 (0.8 MIPS) found in the Amiga.

Of course emulating an Amiga is difficult, but in no way it means the Amiga is a superior machine, it only means as you say, that it is 'complex'.
