@ednakano1 because the whales and dolphins are caught from the wild. Most zoo animals are bred there. Of course wild caught ones should be set free.
Also a lot of zoos are trying to breed endangered animals to up wild populations.
Plus GOOD zoos don't force their animals to perform for food. They treat their animals as well as they can, dolphins and whales in captivity live a life of misery.
