@SKaRzGaming actually yes, either 1 drop a 5.4l in it, or you can buy a burnt out flowmaster, they still work fine and sound great but as they get older they get deeper.
I put a old 40series on my 4.2l and it sounded like my dads 4.6l , its only when you get up to higher revs it sounds more like a v6.
but nothing compares to the sound of a v8, its hard to get thats sound, I hate when people make a v8 sound like a v6 with shitty mufflers>=/
@MPRdrummer ah cool, any idea as to where i could get a burnt out flowmaster and about how much it would be? cuz theres no way im gettin a 5.4 even tho id love one lol, the 4.2 is pretty weak.
@SKaRzGaming well I bought mine form my buddy who bought a old honda and the guy through in an original flowmaster 40 series for free I bought it from my buddy for 3 bucls haha
but just check pick n pulls and junkyards, I usually checked under every old 80's and 90s truck
every truck I looked under had either magnaflow or flowmaster, what I found was key to finding a burnt muffler was the stock piping should be pretty rusty
hey sstroh08 u paid 300 for muffler back? are u nuts.dude listen to mine and i got mine from cat back, for almost 400. listen to yours than mine ull hear a big diff,
i have a 1999 4.6 and i realllyyy want to sound like this. are you involved in any forums or something because this sound is amazing & i want this so bad for my truck
i have the same truck and i had a local auto shop install a magnaflow exhaust with the duals like this and its not quite that loud but it sounds really nice it was from the muffler back and it cost around $300, i used to have a truck before my current one where i chopped the muffler off and it sounded awesome but after about a week it was driving me crazy i couldnt hear the radio and i would have to tylonel on interstate trips so i wouyldnt recommend really loud exhaust just a really nice rumble
Its all a custom order and set up through Flowmaster, people stop me all the time and say they have never heard anything like it before, and i gained significant power out of it too.
sounds like its going to blow up, oh yeah its a ford fucked over rebuilt dodge. CHEVY all the way

I would like to see how that is laid out underneath. Did each muffler have to be turned up on its side?

whats the difference between true duals and regular dual exhaust?
mjf13523 3 years ago
True duals have 2 exhaust pipes from headers or manifolds back with two mufflers. None true duals have a Y pipe with one muffler.
