I've been a fan of Tom Cruise forever it seems. But if he does this he will seriously break my heart and I will forever boycott his movies and see him in an entirely different light. This whole video disturbs me, but at the end...Ive been around horses my whole life, have 3 of my own in fact. But ive never ever seen one whose fight or flight response didnt work and their only option is to just lay down and not move.
It happens a LOT with rodeo horses. I useds to work at a Rescue-Rehibilitation center for livestock animals, and we've had over 10 dozen horses in the past couple of years be so afraid they would lie down and simply give up. Thats your gorgeous little Rodeo for ya'

@RubyLee333 Livestock inside the rodeo arena are not protected under most states' cruelty laws. Many rodeo animals are specifically exempt, others fall into the 'farm animal' loophole. In other words, abusers at rodeos are the protected ones. Ironically, at rodeos where there are dog and other small animal acts in the arena, those animals are protected. Very unfair. Total speciesism at work to allow the abuse of cattle, horses and even swine. Laws need to be changed and enforced.

@xBritxMassacrex There are entire states that depend on the rodeo industry. I don't think it would ever get entirely shut down because of that. Just stopping some of the abuse would be great. I don't see every event at a rodeo as abuse. Just most of the ones that people pack in to see. It would be nice if it were shut down but not realistic.

As long as I live I will never forget the image of that bronc falling and killing itself or how it convulsed in its death throes.As a horseman, seeing these things cuts me to the core of my being. If you could become respectable in your methods and stop with these Westboro-ish harassment tactics, which, whether you want to believe it or not severely damage your credibility you could do some great things for these critters. However, to dismiss rodeo mistreatment as 'not even 1%' is unfair to the animals that actually suffer 100% through it. Just as you cannot dismiss one person's pain & anguish as greater or lesser than another's, you cannot do that to animals, either. That said, the movie in queston glorifies rodeo, a venue of animal abuse. As he's a celebrated spokesman of Scientology, do you not see a conflict of belief?

Why our video title? Considering Mr. Cruise's deep association, we contacted Scientology officials about asking him to reconsider his plans about doing this movie. They've given us nothing but silence, and others who've contacted them were received with nastiness.

It happens a LOT with rodeo horses. I useds to work at a Rescue-Rehibilitation center for livestock animals, and we've had over 10 dozen horses in the past couple of years be so afraid they would lie down and simply give up. Thats your gorgeous little Rodeo for ya'

@RascalCoyote when we go to a rodeo and see abuse we should say something right then and report it.there should be someone there to decide if the animals are being abused.maybe a vet or someone from the humane society.

@RubyLee333 Livestock inside the rodeo arena are not protected under most states' cruelty laws. Many rodeo animals are specifically exempt, others fall into the 'farm animal' loophole. In other words, abusers at rodeos are the protected ones. Ironically, at rodeos where there are dog and other small animal acts in the arena, those animals are protected. Very unfair. Total speciesism at work to allow the abuse of cattle, horses and even swine. Laws need to be changed and enforced.

@SHARKonlineorg Man that's disgusting, people are starving all over the world and all these people think about is riding animals for their own pleasures.
Who knows how many Africans those bulls and horses could've fed? But I doubt they care about wasting food, since they're scientologists and don't have any teachings on moral ethics.
This is why in religious countries this stuff doesn't happen, because they respect animals for the food the animals can give to hungry needy people.

@RubyLee333 - Perhaps YOU should be the "someone" to decide... It's obvious these animals are in fear from the just the crowd noise. These are docile, innocent animals put in situations that can only cause them harm. It's all totally for "fun"... With nothing to the "gain" of the animal. Does this help you decide?

cant we do something more about this? like getting animal abuse organizations or anything like that? i feel like some people arent doing all they can. like no one wants to see or hear what u guys have to say. i want to be able to do something so bad...it needs shut down completely, and i feel like if enough animal rights activists stand up like you guys are, something positive will happen

@xBritxMassacrex There are entire states that depend on the rodeo industry. I don't think it would ever get entirely shut down because of that. Just stopping some of the abuse would be great. I don't see every event at a rodeo as abuse. Just most of the ones that people pack in to see. It would be nice if it were shut down but not realistic.
