  • This song has a psychobilly sound to it :o

  • Jose Alvarez

  • the elvis of punk!

  • Danzig has credited Elvis as one of his idols. Great song.

  • I could just imangine Glenn chasing his girlfriend down an abondoned road at sunset going crazy with an axe in his hand.

  • I Love it...

  • @zombieman62 aww man that'd be AWESOME! :D

but not some shit like inglorious bustards more like pulp fiction or reservoir dogs :D

well..any movie that he wrote the script for would do it :D

  • I love Glenn's voice in this one so much!!

  • OH WOW! YES! :X

  • Awesome clap part. Such a solid song.

  • this is a great elvis influenced song. classic misfits.

  • @SomeQueerBeanerKid What's this shit? I cant even listen to Danzig w/out stupid shit being said about Beiber.

  • @davethebat09 def. he sounds so much like Elvis..h/e in some other songs I think he kinda sounds like Jim Morrison

  • @davethebat09 Wasn't he evil from the beginning or am I missing something here? o.o

  • great song!

  • Danzig is a modern Elvis, without the cheesy vesas shit

  • THIS IS DANZIG'S BEST SHIT EVER

  • American Nightmare (box set lyrics): Hot cherry on friday night, sun goes down my spine, i put an axe in my baby's head, I'm gonna end up doing time, She looks so good in red American nightmare running scared, Heading down the highwa the sign has 3 inverted 9's, if the lord dont get me the devil will, but not without a fight, this highway never fucking ends, American Nightmare running scared, American Nightmare running scared!!!!

  • wow, Danzig sounds so good here.

  • love this song! goodness! fiend for life!

  • and its Headed down the highway the sing has 3 inverted nines

  • three inverted nines... 666... get a clue

  • i always disagree with misfits lyrics lol does glenn remember what he sang? the one part i think he says:" head on down the highway sky looks clear tonight " at :43 the internet says something about 3 inverted nines,idk...hard to say.but i love this band!

  • Wow this is danzig? could've thought it was elvis :P jk

  • good old american punk, listen to that voice, it's like elvis's spirit posessed danzig and started dancing in the graveyard

  • Comment removed

  • YOU LOOK SO GOOD IN RED!!!!

  • I LOVE the Misfits, campy but dark lol!

  • i heard that doyle was one of the ones clapping in this song. it would be so weird to see him clap and not smile. pretty sure he was smiling though. how can u not smile and listen to this song

  • they should have stopped the misfits after danzig left.

just like how they should have stop the dead kennedys after biafra left...

graves is a great singer...but not in the misfits

  • Graves quit the band over ten years ago. Jerry sings now. His lead vocal skills are as awful as you might guess they would be.

  • @runnersdialzero33 that is why they have recieved the name "The Shitfits."

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA i bet this is why misfits didnt play american nightmare when that guy asked for it. graves definitely can't sing this as good and i dont think doyle can play it. go look up "Where eagles dare" live 1997. you'll see what i mean. this is a badass song though. i would've been asking for it too.

  • yeah, but Danzig cant sing this song now. his vocals are shot. no denying that only he and elvis could make this song sound soooo good. But he cant do it now. its a pity...

  • He doesn't sound that bad at all nowadays. Different, but not bad by any means.

Either way, for anyone to expect him to sound the same after thirty some years of constant touring is a little ridiculous.

  • Too bad there are recordings of the new Misfits(TM) playing this song.

  • Danzig wrote and recorded this song on this album on vocals and guitar. He recently stated in an interview with ultimate-guitar that Doyle couldn't even play this song on guitar bahahahahaha

  • Doyle was just learning how to play guitar when he joined the Misfits. Can't hold it against him if he couldn't pick up a new song right away - I believe I read that they'd barely rehearsed this before recording, the drummer was instructed to play along to Glenn nodding at him.

  • Lo-fi Elvis! ;D

  • EVIL Elvis ;-)

  • One of The Misfits' best songs.

  • elvis?

  • No, but Danzig himself said he was highly influenced by Elvis. So he probably tried to sing like him. Great song, I think he did a very good job.

  • my favorite misfit song

  • u r a fool

  • the only song i know jerry cant sing

no offense to anybody out there but this song can only be sung by glenn since he is the only one that can sound like an ELVIS

  • do you have a video of this that you could post?

  • Beautifully sung and produced by Glenn. Sounds like a song with Elvis coming back from the dead and doing some killer rock and roll blues and punk in Glenn's voice. Hmm kinda creepy, interesting, and rock and roll in a good way. :)

  • this song has a tremendously amount of harmony. i love how this harmony is in complete contrast to the lyrics, which are very very violent. yeah, the elvis influence that Danzig talks about so often can certainly be heard on this song.

  • so different for the Misfits, yet so good.

  • EVIL Elvis.

  • Reminds me of The Meteors and The Cramps...Misfits sounds good doing some Rockabilly.

  • @Gonzalez2500 this song came out before the Meteors even started...

  • He really sounds like elvis here

  • @VampirePrince95

tahts awesome coz i had a song in my head and was trying to figure out what it was ... all i could remember was it sounded like elvis.... hahaha and realixed it was the misfits, this song.
