We get a couple of Tornado's in Canada, in Ontario to be exact. And yes, We have Tornado Sirens. Federal signal 2001's and a couple of Thunderbolts.

Guys i would really like to become such a stormchaser.

The problem: I live in west germany and i am 15 years old =/ tho i'm really interested in weather oh mostly storm thunderstorms yea and tornados!

I'm looking forward to move to the USA and become a stormchaser oh well easy to say that hard to get stuff by stuff and get the job anyway :(

Tornado here in Indiana is like watchin the 500. Not 1 person is gonna miss out in seeing or hearing about it. Our last tornado warning was in late Dec in the evening around 4.. then we had bout 3 inches of snow by morning! Thats Indiana weather for ya. Thats why we have our own weather system compared to any other place! We are one of a kind!

I wish I lived somewhere warmer. While you were out storm chasing, I was stuck inside with a wind chill of -27 celsius. Canada really doesn't get a lot of interesting weather, at least not for most of the year.

You know what i mean by chilled. Besides i'm guessing that it's not too warm inside a tornado. but your right. Chasing without any weather know how before hand is dangerous.

I don't know deadlychinchilla when a rotating wall cloud is coming at you i'm pretty sure you can predict what's going to happen. Besides Indiana isn't exactly in a hot spot for dangerous weather. Don't get me wrong they get some sizable storms and tornadoes but i doubt anyone in your family would be chilled when a tornado forms on top of them.

The weather can be dangerous sometimes, but I was referring more to the overall abundance of different weather types we get in Indiana. We get not only the traveling storms from tornado alley, but the winter bites from Lake Michigan, etc.

Why would anyone get "chilled" with a funnel coming at them? I've had a couple barrel down on my home and car, and that isn't something I'd call "chilled." More like "I don't wanna dieeee!" ^_^

Then you've forgotten since then what "normal" means to midwestern states. I've a family of 60 people scattered about Indiana, and exactly ZERO have noted anything "abnormal" about their weather. The eldest members of them look out the window in a storm and say "you think THIS is bad?", then laugh.

The weather is not a predictable, steady machine, its a natural force we can only average in the end... and averaging means there will be worse times and better times, like normal.

I am from Pennsylvania. I would donate my left testicle to live out there and experience the weather you guys get each spring/summer..and sometimes fall and winter. =) I plan on chasing storms in the next 5 years and can not wait to take in the raw nature of this, as you are 100% right she is an unpredictable beast. Well, good luck to you and your chase. As Chasermaan mentioned, Indiana doesn't always get the funnels, but its not far off. Take care though, its got to be dangerous work, chasing storms... especially for hobbyists.

i figured u guys be on top of it. i been monitoring all day here in ardmore, ok. we just had a tornado rip thru the Lone Grove area.. (i have audio/video of my monitor - a fellow stormchaser is heard on the video tracking it for KXII. his name is doug Drace. he was on this tornado as it hit Lone Grove. so far we have 1 confirmed death, sadly.. and 2 others the AP is reporting. the video/audio should be ready soon on my page. it says still processing right now. keep checing tho)
