Mac has simplicity, and ease of use, but the overall look, and software applications has musicians bought, my dad used to own a PC, but it kept crashing and slowing down, I also think Mac is more reliable. Just my opinion. :)
@DjPeaceDestroyer Macs are more reliable, end of. My macbook pro has never crashed or caught a virus, and its portable obviously too. Plug it into a keyboard and a mouse and i can just stick it on me shelf between me monitors and im good to go! Never had a cpu intensive busy session go smoothly on a pc!
Nice setup, but not a great place for those BX5's. Wood reverbrates alot, which is why guitars are made out of them. :P You're a colored sound. You need to isolate them elsewhere. You've probably using the KRK's seeing this upload is over a year old, but it's good info to throw out there.
Awesome set up. I just have one question: the apogee duet doesn't have any midi connections, right? So, what piece of equipment do you use to record midi from your novation keyboard? Cheers

Thanks for the great video and the nice setup just want to know if the new imac 2.8 i7 quad with 8GB ram with protools8 or logic can hundle over 30 to 40 or 50 audio tracks with some plug ins like autotune and dverb eq compressor plus reasone in rewire and some vertual insteruments like sampletank - kontakt
Nice studio i want to buy imac 27 quad 2.8 i7 can with 16gb of ram to use it with pro tools or logic around 40 of audio tracks with some plugins and some virtual isteruments lik stylus and reasone plus sampletank do you thing it can hundle all of what i want to use? Thanks

YO how does that SE Mic Reflexion filter work? Any issues with it. Madd heavy right? My room aint treated either so I was thinking of purchasing it soon. Is it worth it?
i have apogee but not sure if i should keep it. Its awesome but Apogee duet only has two inputs. What do you do when your fellow musicians come over to record?
mark?...baldos uke?? so das his cajon(however you spell it) too? i know dis vid old but.. how come dat kid no play anymore? he told me once a while back that uke was an "old" instrument.. dude cmon!!...the day you think your above anything or anyone is the day you need to be set back on earth cause braddah your head swollen..haha not for sound mean. but mark my boy anyways...its just that hes talented.. and why give it up for being so called "old"...sheez..
hey, nice video ! I see, you're recording with Logic =) . are you recording with 48 or 96 khZ? How many music tracks / instruments can u play in Logic with your iMac?
im looking for a new Mac. Im not really shure if I should buy a iMac or MacPro.
hey man, the only thing i see that could be a problem is; the way you have those monitors setup, not only is the tweeter not pointed directly at your ears like it should be, the way they are sitting in that enclosed wood shelve will drastically change the way the bass frequencies are represented. When i had mine setup that way my mixes werent translating well at all to other systems or to the car.
Love your Mic tho, its perfect for what youre doin.
great combination of gear man. can't go wrong with UA and Apogee. i actually got my final project tomorrow on a 4000 series SSL console running apogee A/D converters to get to ProTools...they make great converters they sound nutsssssss.
havent used the k2 but can't go wrong with rode. my fav mic is their tube NTK mic...
Sick!!! dang i wish i could get my hands on HALF the gear you're messing with man... ahh in due time. You can soak up the knowledge and teach me everything you know!! haha The K2 is a tube btw. Good stuff
I'm LOVING both very much! the K2 actually sounds nice and warm with the Duets preamp alone but the Universal Audio Solo/110 i use makes it even NICER! a KILLER combo if you ask me. My next upgrade is a Neumann TLM 49 but i'll wait till the 2nd album for that hehe. Def recommend the K2, Duet and Solo/110!!!
I just bought a Duet and im looking for a LDC. I only have enough for the mic and not enough for another preamp. I've been thinking about getting the Shure SM7B or the K2. What would you recommend?
strictly for vocals to be used with the duet. Maybe in the future i'LL buy the AU preamp.
Sweet! As for the SM7B vs. K2. It really depends on your application and since your doing strictly vocals i'd recommend the K2 over the SM7B. The Shure is obviously a tried and true mic but being that it's a dynamic mic you wouldn't really be able to hone it for vocal application as easily as the Rode, in my opinion. The warmth of the K2 is also something i found to be a HUGE selling point. For overall clarity, warmth and versatility i'd say the K2 gets my vote.
You're kidding right? The SM7B is pretty much strictly a vocal mic. It was created for broadcast purposes but has found it's way into recording studios and is constantly used as a go to vocal mic.
nice to see the stuff from a little pro, man. the reflexion filter is an inspiration for me to built something like that on my own. thanks for the vid and keep up making great stuff!
Nice set up brah! You a mac guy huh? lol I love the mac! Never gives me any problems! Keep doing what you doing man! Hey is there anyway to get a copy of your CD, when it comes out, here on Guam?

You should bring your song volume down. For a sound artist you should no better than to bang both your intro and the song together at loud volumes;)

A couple months ago i moved into a new apartment and have since used my KRK monitors with studio monitor stands so that problem has been alleviated.
Thanks for the comment and you're definitely right, had i been mixing with the setup on this video it would've been inaccurate and sloppy.
In regards to your AT 4060, that mic is HOT! i was about to get it but chose the Neumann TLM 103 instead. The 4060 is amazing nonetheless
