I had a 3 mps from new put 25k on the clock never let me down once civic type r is a Nice car but way out of it's depth performance wise the civic just dosnt have the same amour of balls from 70 onwards
Mazda 3 MPSs have had a lot of issues in reliability.The Mazda look like a little station wagon and for a 2.3L turbo it didn't really blow the Civic into the weeds.
You don't really hear much about Mazdas3 MPSs these days,it seems that the current generation isn't well liked and also there are much better and faster cars to choose from!
@hondacar , i own a 07 speed3(modded) no reliability issues with mine, that is almost 5 years with the car , still like new. Perhaps you should write the make and model of the much better and faster cars. remember this car is only 24,500 usd..
@hondacar lol, the new ms3s are even quicker on the highway, just test drove the 2012s and man do they pull good on the highways! from 1st gear you don't want to give her too much because it isn't a honda with no torque. lol. and yes, that type r is the ugliest of them all that i've seen so far. i'd take a civic dx hatch over that. lol

@hondacar no it would fail...if it did, because it has to much to the front wheels, it spins too much. That civic is supposed to be the best civic out and it lost. I would be sad to a civic type r owner.
The JDM Type R is the fastest version and although it would still have less torque and power than the MPS3,it would easily beat the MPS 3 around the track.
The engine in the JDM version Type R is one that Mazda can only dream of.
@hondacar funny I never seen that in the comparison. the honda being faster around the track. that honda wouldn't beat the speed 3 around the track if it had every bolt on imaginable. the engine in a honda being better than the mazdaspeed 3 lol. the mazdaspeed 3 has an engine only the honda can dream of...oh and you can keep dreaming too.

The MPS 3 wins but really it's an empty victory especially with a 2.3L turbo Vs a NA 2.0L.
It just shows how short the MPS3 engine falls in performance.
I would be sad if I was a MPS 3 owner.
