  • Excalibur has plenty of symbolism in the movie and story. More insight is gain by studing Carl Jung. There's a quick book written by Robet Johnson that explain the symbolism used by Jung in his study of psychology.

  • Amazing how this movie never received the widespread recognition it so richly deserved. A PERFECT movie if ever there was one.

  • That's because this movie has ideals in it that go against are chosen elites view of the world.

  • my favorite quote is:

evil is allways where you never expected

  • Excellent! And where are the Knights today? Nothing but freaks!

    Merlin, where are you, bastard!

  • Great clips and very interesting comments! What stands out, even from these brief snippets, is just how memorable and passionate the script is, and how wonderful the cinematography! The recent "re-imagined" Arthur film was an atrocity in comparison to this. Funny to hear how Excalibur got you interested in Wagner, because it was watching this film at 14 that made me get into him, and he made me interested in becoming a composer. So my career choice can be traced back to this film!

  • "Purge me of this love" - Fucking awesome!

  • I wish you'd shown the entire scene with Arthur and Gwen. When he says, and I'm probaly misquoting, "You have bore my guilt to long and Lancelot my shame".

  • EXCALIBUR kicks ass!
