I think endgame was a much better representation of what today's thrash should sound like. Then again Dave Mustain breaths thrash. When he tries to thrash the product is amazing, especially if you consider Chris is in Megadeth now.

Regardless, I think Metallica and Megadeth should take a look at Testament, they never once stepped down from making thrash even though they have constantly been changing since the band was started.

Amongst others my apocalypse still try to be thrash, but fails. I think the prog side of the album is better.

It reminds me a lot of when Death took a progressive turn, it took a while, but once it happened it was obvious.

Progressive - adding something new and innovational which hasn't been used before and which turns out to be a good idea, or something like that. 80% of bands which are labeled progressive metal nowadays aren't progressive at all. By the same logic I can call system of a down progressive, but that is laughable and you understand it.

It's about starting somewhere and ending somewhere else. Reoccurring theme's are a good indication of progressive music. If a riff comes back different later in a song, you have progression.
