  • Need to find the soundtrack. Literally been looking for AGES.

This game was awesome back in the day, and had a soundtrack that blew the others away by far. Dark, eerie, engrossing. Epic 90s game.

  • 19:57 I resent my urbografx-16 COUNTLESS times just to hear that tune.

  • I want this sound source.

  • やべえ、この音楽、なつかしすぎるw

    今聴いても名曲だ。

  • so epic.

  • i LOVE the tavern music. it's really lump-in-my-throat music, just gives you that nostalgic feeling inside

  • This kind of nostalgia can be sad because it seems shared by so few... but on YouTube there are many people still showing Dungeon Explorer and the TG16 love after all these years. That is awesome!

  • 02:50~

    I like this song

  • @momosuke1995 I like it to

  • Rock on @ 12:38 - 14:34 !! It's structured like an actual song with verses, choruses, and then a bridge and a guitar solo. So awesome!

  • @sonickchri its one of my favorites too, it also means you're close to the end of the game :)

  • the music was epic , the music blew my mind when I first played it on TG16 when it was new in the u.s.

  • this game really didn't need such a good soundtrack. it's like, exceedingly good. the game altogether was really too good. didn't need to be so good. it's just, such an amazing creepy game. waaaaaaaaay too good...

  • The last boss music was awesome I had the game around 20 years ago.

  • 8:40 = what i want to hear when I die

  • creepy tune

  • 12:38

My favorite!!! I'd just pause the game and sit back and listen to this. Such a catchy tune. Brings back great memories! Thanks for uploading!

  • I love reading these posts with specific times and I can agree with everyone, they are ALL AMAZING! So glad we have the ability to share and remember this BGM...

  • this is amazing stuff.

  • oh how i loved this game on TurboGrafx 16. the nostalgia.

  • Amazing music, I loved playing it back in the good old days, I'm gonna bump it in my ride this summer using my iPhone hooked to my pioneer avic z3 using the apple av composite cable .

  • 8:40

I recorded this to tape and looped it back in the day. Love it.

  • One more thing. I might be crazy but I could swear the crystals you get from the bosses are worth more HP and such if you wait till they turn purple before you pick them up. Can anyone confirm ?

  • I always loved the music from this game. One of the better aspects of a GREAT game of its time. I still play it emulated on occasion but was stoked to find all the music here. Great upload. And BTW @1gregre1 Its all about the fighter. He can take the game single handedly in no time. Who needs the max stats ?

  • Thief by far best char...MF% = max stats!

  • me and my friend beat that game without using any life crystals

  • Nothing beats the music of the TG-16 HUcards and cd's...music like that will never be created again...not in 20 years has anything come close...now a days it's all graphics and cut scenes and weak ass BGM's ...Music is what made the games memorable...RIP TG-16......

  • 16:27 - 18:16

    Hells yes

  • 14:37 i heard this song so many times, because u hear it when your imputing your password. I think its obvious why i had to hear the song so many times....

  • 2:53 reminds me of playing this game as a kid back in 1989/90...

  • Who here knew that Natas is Satan backwards?

  • The Ice crystal palace, that music sure was something soothingly out of this world, and even used to have a friend named Ian like 20 some odd years ago who lived up the street from me and loved that song. Still brings good memories, but gotta say WE ALL ARE AGING TO REMBER ANY OF THIS! heh, bet you all remember Athena and Crystalis from the old NES too huh? How about "Alex kid" from the original sega, even further back "adventure" from Atari? How far we have come, gotta love it-games32

  • 1:31 still does it for me.

  • 8:40 is the ice crystal palace... i would turn on the game when i got home from school and just veg out to that tune... it became my "safe" music, whenever something bad happens i hear it in my mind and it brings me back from chaos

  • 14:35 my best song

  • ああ、懐かしい音楽です。

  • Where can I download the OST for this game?

  • 12:40 is the best fuck wat ya heard

  • 14:34 is probably my favorite. good music all around!

  • the song right before that is insane tho

  • 2:53 favorite

  • @ 8:40 my favorite music in the whole game.

  • Yeah, 8:40 is my favorite, too

  • NataS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely one of the finest HuCard soundtracks for the TurboGrafx 16 system. This was always one of my favorites. Nice selection.

  • @JasonWardStudios Agreed. Cherry Tower was really well done and one of my favorites.

  • great tunes, but my favorite is missing!

  • Mine too! Is your favourite the same as mine? A soft, mystical-sounding tune that makes you feel like you're underwater?

  • One of the best for music on a hucard.Besides ninja spirit and shockman for me at least.

  • is there a way to get sheet music for this?

  • Not very likely unless someone has take then time to learn it by ear and then play it into a notation program. It's only 6 channels at the most and shouldn't be too hard to play by ear.

  • I've done a lot of the songs by ear in MIDI format. If you search "Regression FM Dungeon" here on YouTube, you'll find a sequence(s) by me featured on the Regression FM soundfont.

  • I came across it a while ago, was quite impressed, and left a comment saying so. =)

Where can one DL the regression sound font anyhow?

  • woops so you have sorry

  • the music for the last boss fight was awesome too you got that one too uploader?

  • Best music in a game ever.

  • Got to be one of the best tracks ever.

  • This literally is one of the best soundtracks for a game ever. I wish i could get more of this persons work?

  • @syncade I agree with you. Tsukasa Masuko (Macco) did a lot of great games when he worked at Atlus from 1989 to 1998. The good news is that he still does music for them, even thiough he has gone freelance. Shoji Meguro is now the new music composer to Atlus's games.

  • wansnt macco the same guy who did the music for Rockin Kats, from Atlus 1991?????

  • JBBNJ-HDCOG!

    Why do I remember that?!

  • Try not remembering [DEBDE-DEBDA] then hold RUN and press Button I...

    Hail PC ENGINE! Semper Fi!

  • HAHAHAHA

my mom even remembers that, cause when my brother and I were young we'd always ask for her

  • absolutely love this music. classic atmosphere. thx for postin

anyone ever play a game called "shockman 2"? that game was hard as hell..

  • You know, I must have spent something like 8 months looking for that card in Akihabara back in 98. Never saw it... It's one of the few games I really miss on that system.

The second music on that video has been haunting me for years!

  • Definitely some kickass tracks here!

  • Thanks. Always loved the music in this game. The arranged DE tracks found on Dungeon Explorer II are excellent. Wish all the DE tracks were arranged though >:P

  • I don't enjoy this game one player but maybe 2 player it might be pretty fun. As I don't play games with people much, It is my worst VC game I bought. I had to get it because I remember people raving about it, and it turns out to only be that blurred line between Zelda and Gautlet.

  • It's like an orgasm of music!

  • amen

  • When my best friend got a TurboGrafx-16, I never used to play ''Keith Courage in Alpha Zones'' much. Then, he got ''Dungeon Explorer'' and I found myself skipping homework to play it! lol

  • BEST game music ever, when I was young my brother and I would record the music on cassette on our crappy recorder. I LOVE THIS, THANK YOU!

  • I totally just learned how to play it on my keyboard, it's cool to know other people thought this music was awesome too.

  • So no wonder I loved this, the Megaten composer did it. This was one of the games I got the Xmas I received my TG-16. My birthday party the next month after I got this was spent with my friends playing it. Good memories.

The music always impressed me. One of my favorite Hucards.

  • @boilerplate It is too bad that Tsukasa masuko does not do the Megaten soundtracks anymore. His music for the series was better than Shoji Meguro's.

  • Sunteam_Paul's doing these in alphabetical order now, so get in a bunch of these while you still can ;). Sunteam_Paul also says that the music style for Dungeon Explorer is similar to Legendary Axe II. Don't know if I can agree with him, though. .

  • SuperPCEngineGrafx also made a soundtrack for this, but I haven't heard it beyond the first song. Maybe I should start listening to his whole soundtracks more so I can know what to expect, but I do that so I wouldn't spoil myself in case I would meet the actual game someday. Superbly done, combining gameplay footage with the box art. It is nice box art, too

  • I enjoyed the music in this game quite a bit! I didn't know it was the Megami Tensei composer though, that is badass.
