I listened to the final cut hundreds of time, i think and since it was the last album together with the band and roger surley knew it was the final cut. as far as the kid who had a big hallucination i think he is talking about himself

@1091Floyd21 If you listen, just prior to that he said "just then the phone rang, I never had the nerve to make the final cut." It sounds to me as though the character portrayed in the song was either contemplating suicide or had begun to kill himself. Likely by slicing his wrists. Just a guess. /shrug

some of his songs like its a miracle says "by the grace of god almighty" or the heros return first line is "jesus jesus what its all about", in what god wants theres line "what god wants, god gets, god helps us all" in the interview he said: america thinks that god is always on their side, which is quite moronic. also there are more songs with these interesting lyrics so you can guess his religion
