Hi joebarefoot I guess the loco's smoke so much because most of them are Heritage engines most of which are quite old and been superseded by newer class 66 locos. Not many get excited by the class 66 as there are so many and they all look the same so it's a bit of a treat for somethnig different like a couple of old school 37's as in this video.
Those 37s are pretty cool its such a shame the driver didn't thrash it one last time propelling back to Barton Hill though. Probably more interesting in his next fishing trip to Weymouth than giving 670 a bit of welly ;O)
That was amazing! Turned the sound up and it sounded awesome. I can't wait to go to the GCR Diesel Gala next Saturday. It's gonna be the first ever time that I go Deltic Bashing!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited :)
Textbook 37 departure...Hellfire ! ! !

I didn't know that both Class 37s and Mk2(?) carriages tilt!
Great video anyway 5*s + fave.
UKTrainMan 2 years ago
Thanks for watching - there is quite a tilt on the lines through Castle Cary due to high speed running of the HST services.
See last uploaded video for high speed HST's through the same platform..........

Thanks for the speedy reply. I'll go watch the other video in a minute. Just to clarify I was having a laugh with my previous comment.
Also it's not actually a tilt it's really known as a "Cant", the definition of which is as follows;
Definition of cant;
"bank: a slope in the turn of a road or track; the outside is higher than the inside in order to reduce the effects of centrifugal force "
Anyway thanks again for the speedy reply - I do appreciate it!
