You wait 10 days or if the khajiit are sitting outside of dawnstar you wait 2 days directly in front of him. If you use the ten day method you must wait in another city. You will know if it worked If the dragon attacking the city respawns, which is another bonus, because you get dragon bones and scales as well as whatever you find in the chest.

Pretty sure the treasure chests found under the map aren't "easter eggs," I think most, if not all, of those are for shop storage since I've found one under literally every place with a shop, which would explain the item regeneration and the really random useless items (like kettles), unlike ones you might find in a usual chest.

This Chests is just a chest that is the exact same as the roaming traveler that stops in dawnstar. To refill the chest you need to go back to where you are fast traveled into dawnstar and talk to the Khajitt trader at least once every 48 hours. The only thing the PC version has over this version in terms of visuals (which is what you're talking about, so let's stay on that subject) is higher resolution. That chest is a shopkeepers chest there is a similar glitch in whiterun everything the shop has including what you sell to it will go into that chest notice the 750gold wich is how much gold shops have the one in white run is under the map under the skyforge look it up

It is actually the inventory of the Khajiit, so if you wait 2 days and talk to the Khajiit outside of the town in the tents and ask him what he has for sale, it will refill.

This chest is actually a vendor's inventory, not the things he/she carries but the things he/she sells. How do I know this? I've TLC'd in a shop and I've seen a chest with similar items in it under the floor. I guess the NPC vendor is somehow linked to the chest. So if you take stuff from the chest, the NPC won't have it on the sell list anymore. This also explains why the chest replenishes after a while. Hope this helped.

@Linus117 I don't know if you've found any more information about the chest (or if anyone here has posted any more information about it), but the contents of the hidden chest are based on what level you are (higher the level, the better the loot), and everything in the chest is random.To refresh the chest, you need to go back out of Dawn Star, wait 48 hours, and talk to the Kahjiit trader in a tent just outside the city (ask to see what he has for sale, then back out of the chat menu).

Guys, this is NOT an invisible secret chest, this is a merchant chest.

If you go underground via console commands, you will see that every merchant is linked to one of these chests (have you ever wondered why after killing a merchant, they do not have the stores items in their inventory?).

This is a merchant chest that is not flat and is rather close to the surface, making it possible to access.

For PC gamers who want to test this:

Press ` (left of 1 key)

type " tcl " without quotations

Um i think thats the Blacksmiths Chest. There is this gluch where u go under the Skyforger and there is 1 chest wich has items every 48 hours. U can get Ebony Stuff Enchanted stuff and i think this is the same chest.
