Kusanagi is my favorite in kof 2002 i still remember the code to use him in the arcade it's up down, right left, down up, left right but you have to highlight Kyo and if it's done correctly Kyo's portrait will change to Kusanagi

K-1 and K-2 were created by nest (in kof 99) while Kusanagi was created by Yata Mirror (but he was selectable as Kyo Kusanagi in kof 98 by pressing player one start and a or b or c or d, it's the same character they gave him just his nome without surname)

I really dont get it, is Kusanagi, Kyo 1 and 2 Kyo's clones as in "Some of his blood was taken and someone made 3 clones of him for god knows what reason" or is it "SNK got tired of all the fans complaining, so they put all 3 of his old move sets into the game to keep them happy"? The Kyo clones story is explained in KoF '99. Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 and re just of the thousands of Kyo clones NEST created(including, but not limited to K', K9999, and Krizalid). SNK originally didnt want to put Kyo into '99, but he's just that popular.

Regarding Kusanagi....he's essentially Kyo pre-97, but his backstory differs from medium; one story being that's he the last remaining Kyo clone ressurected with Chizuru's mirror; another where he was created from the mirror itself.

the reason for various kyos is that he had many diferent moves throughout the various games, so that people who prefered the older styles would have the choice between them all.

They tried to end the Kyo focus in 99, but the fans got annoyed about it and devs moaned about not having Kyos school uniform in, so they ended up making three...

Personally I would have had Kyo and Iori only as unplayable bosses in that game, it would have been better than being random edit team characters.
