  • rack a what?!

  • yes!?

  • this song would be so great, great voice, if it only had the sound mix of the older VHs.

  • Dave's lyrics > Sammy's lyrics

  • Hello long lost Memory.........

  • I think it's funny people are still hashing out the Sammy vs. Dave thing a quarter century after the split. It's like arguing Christianity vs. Atheism. No one can win. Just listen to what you want to and let it go, man.

  • FUCKING AWESOME!!!!

  • I used this song as the inspiration for all my high school dating choices.

  • I always looked at the DLR era and Sammy era as two different entities. They were two different bands that loved. Sure, technically Sammy was the far better pure singer...but to me the DLR version had more of an edge to it. I won't even mention the VHIII abomination...that was just miserable.

  • @LT9856

Hey, Without You ain't bad, even if Cherone's trying a little too hard to sound like Sammy.

  • HELLOOOOW BAYBEEEAH !

  • so awesome

  • Check please!

  • Totally agree with you guys on this. Dave was awesome...but I think Van Hagar ROCKED harder !!!

  • @Lunatic2012 Your absolutly right!

  • Nope...Jose is right. Dave "talks" through many early (albeit) awesome albums. Ya heard.

  • Spaceballs

  • My Top Bands:

Five Finger Death Punch (my favorit) :D

    Van Halen

    AC/DC

    Led Zeppelin,

  • this whole album is great, probably the only good Van Hagar album bc nothing can beat the Roth era!!

  • @therooster6505 so true my friend

  • Spaceballs!!!

  • The only great song of Hagar era!

  • incredible song

  • 2 days gone.....for you youngsters that means "I dont give a fuck".

  • The much maligned Van Hagar released some seriously awesome tunes. Sure, the ballads were tiresome (and popular), but let's not pain the entire era with the same brush. I rank this up there with the best of the entire VH catalog from any era. One of the greatest hard rock songs in the history of the genre! Rack of what? Well, I'll have some of thatttttttt!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eddiie!!

  • fuckin choice....tons of great stuff to keep a guitarist busy....low E tuned to A. Great licks and fills. great tone.....this is the shit

  • floyd rose master

  • honestly, vh is vh whether sammy or dave. I like them both.

  • I think Sammy's better.

  • this song reminds me of King Kong pounding his chest with his fists, i hope the neighbors like this :) the song is what it is, just enjoy it for what it is.

  • Dang! Sammy Hagar's a really smokin good singer! yeah, i guess he's not as good as Dave but ffs, what's up with all the Hagar haters? He's great!

  • "Where Diamond Dave would have strutted through the song with his tongue firmly in cheek, Hagar plays it right down the middle, never winking, never joking. "

    -allmusic

  • David's better.

  • @ComicBookSyndicate. Sorry, bro. Dave can't hit a note with a sledgehammer.

  • I love david lee roth just as much as the next guy, but he made his own choice. Van Halen could not have chosen a better replacement than sammy hagar-perfect. -

  • All the Diamond Dave dick sucking in here is pathetic. Yeah, Dave was good when he was with VH. Yeah, Dave was good on some of his solo stuff too. He WOULD NOT have made this album better and simply does NOT have Sammy's vocal range. Unfortunately Dave needs a studio to make him sound good. Ever hear him live? He couldnt carry a tune in a bucket.

  • @JoseDepacos Yeah sammys voice is impressive great range you can hear even in the earlyer recorded sessions how flat david is where sammy on the same note's flows better with more power.

  • @JoseDepacos dude while i agree sammy is a vastly superior singer, i don't think dave was too shabby either. have you heard this - you'll have to google this as it won't let me post the link - (david lee roth running with the devil (vocals only) 1978)

  • @mack666wikid I agree. They're both good. Why can't Sammy Hagar fans and DLR fans just get along?

  • @JoseDepacos 14 people agree lol

  • @JoseDepacos

Seems like Sammy's knob is getting its fair share of polish, here, too. : )

  • @JoseDepacos Yeah well... he's back and the new stuff blows the doors off of Chickenshit. Looks like Sammy will be selling his book and Tequila when Chickenshit gives up from the flogging they'll take from the new VH record. Sammy is nothing w/o Eddie's genius.

  • @DarthKazi I'll listen to and possibly even buy the new album. Dont get me wrong. But even calling it a "new" album doesnt seem right. How many new songs are on it? How many are re-releases of old songs? Ed is the man, no doubts there. Time will tell on this "new" album.

  • @JoseDepacos I totally agree with you. Yeah, Dimond Dave was great with VH and SOME of his solo stuff was great too. Back in 1988, i went to Charlotte to see Dimond Dave and Poison live in concert. I have to admit that his stage show was great and Steve Vai blew me away. but when David Lee Roth opened his mouth and started singing, people wernt screaming and cheering for him anymore.

  • @taypax well if you like david lee roth that much, get on your kness and start sucking his dick along with the rest of them.

  • @Thrills2010 ha, just cuz i'm glad he's back in the band doesn't mean i wanna felate him

  • @taypax Fuck you dick milk. Damn right i like KISS, I like Van Halen too, and as for that shhitty comment you made bout zero cred lol......you have no idea what your talking about. Like I told you before, leave me the hell alone!

  • @Thrills2010 Kiss are now pathetic money grubbing has beens...and i'll fucking comment to whoever i want, fuckface

  • Comment removed

  • @Thrills2010 look at all of your comments getting removed and voted down...what a joke you are

  • Comment removed

  • @Thrills2010 and you removed them because of how idiotic you sounded...oh, and most got voted down and removed...dummy

  • @taypax Goodbye you child

  • @Thrills2010 see ya moron...go suck Gene Simmons tiny shween

  • @JoseDepacos lolololol. sammy can hit higher notes. who cares? it doesn't amount to anything when your vocal tone is this annoying. dave always wins, hands down, although yes, they had a handful of good tracks with sammy. but still. i've heard dave live, as well - sounds just fine to these ears.

  • @runnersdialzero333 Theres no accounting for some peoples tastes. And you being tone deaf isnt argument enough to make Dave the better.

  • @JoseDepacos I'll stick to Dave singing notes over Sammy's consistently atonal shrieking to Eddie's ill-conceived power ballads, thanks = ) The best part is that Dave still sounds basically as good as he did 30 years ago, where as Sammy screamed his voice into a hoarse shadow of its former self, and its former self was not very good to begin with.

Again, the Sammy era had a few redeeming qualities, but range =/= quality. And Dave can't sing? He needs studio help? Are you on drugs?

  • @runnersdialzero333 lay off the crack pipe moron. Dave's voice is shot. Do you have ears that work?

  • @JoseDepacos i guess you never seen the oakland 1982 videos with roth live with van halen...im not bashing sammy but lets show some respect for DLR he helped bring van halen to the top...the reason he left is because he wanted to do a new album n tour but ed n alex wouldnt get off there butt and make nothing happen

  • @motleycrue24 I didnt claim I wasnt a Dave fan. Just over rated.

  • @JoseDepacos i think that i agree .. good rockstar. but not much as a singer. lol watch for that plate comin' at our head's.

  • @JoseDepacos Man I could not agree more .. when I listen to VH it depends on my mood . VH Roth was more of music that was fun didn't really mean anything just good tunes . VH Hagar was more energy better lyrics but I mean they both had Eddy's guitar riffs and Those drums was awesome also .

  • David Lee Roth would have made 5150 one of the best of all time. The music was written for him. It's a shame they couldn't hold it together. They have a shot at redemption on the new CD coming out.

  • i wish dave sung this it would sound so sick

  • 5150 was the first VH album I ever got. I had heard Hot For Teacher on the radio and hoped that it would be on the first VH album I saw. It wasn't. But I still crank this up every now and then and it's become my one of my car's road trip anthems. Go Van Halen forever!!!!!

  • Whenever a pretty girl walks by, in my head I think of the begining of this song where he goes "Helllloo baaaby!"

  • @ carntspell

Great album, but Eat 'Em & Smile was WAY better than this for sure...

  • @mikeyowen LMAO, that was a joke right?

  • Dude, this kicks total wads of ass! This is one of the most underated Van Halen songs. Why was this not put out as a single?

  • @Johnny3031000 I don't know. The artist is typically the one who gets to pick singles, so I don't see why not this one. Maybe they thought it wouldn't be as popular as Why Can't This Be Love...

I still find it rather dumb that they didn't choose it.

  • a bit plodding to be a rocker. i'd say this was past their prime. Would this tune been 'Good Enough' for their first few albums......No! Also eddie's phrasing over the 6/4 bit is a bit weak!

  • if this song was a single then this album would have gone diamond

  • this is obvious - 0 dislikes

  • in their prime yes this song underrated I do not know but I remember when it came out I love it I am Van Halen biggest fan Russ Roxx

  • HEEELlllloooo BAAABBBBYYYY .... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAH! :)

  • This HAS to be one of the songs that Dave worked on before he left. It just screams Dave. If it was sung a few keys lower it would fit Dave like a glove.

  • Helllllllllllllllllllllllo bayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyby!

  • this song makes me wanna fuck hard

  • This reminds me of the movie "Spaceballs"

  • @oralsurgery84 It sure does! :D

  • @oralsurgery84 Yeah the part at the truck stop with the big hooter waitress.

  • @oralsurgery84 Will you have the soup or the special?

  • "EH Waitress, lookit here man. You got any specials here tonight, me the fellas might be interested in?What's that what? Rack what?!?! Well I'll have some a Thaaaaaaaaat!!!

  • @TubeMebro That's what I ordered! Change my order to the soup!

  • aw hell yeah!

  • best song on the album in my opinion. great band. although, anything thing from 1950-1990 was good compared to shit these days...

  • "Hello Baby!!!" Like the way Sammy Hagar says that at the beginning of this song. Van Halen Rocks, even with Sammy Hagar!!!

  • This song has David Lee Roth written all over it! I bet it would've sounded even better with him on it.

  • @Kickstart25 Dave couldn't pull this song off in a million years

  • @codebreaker212p

Oh please, in 1986 Diamond Dave would've set this track on fire with better lyrics & signature screams. Same goes for Summer Nights & Get Up.

The other love ballad & alien downloaded fluff (Why Can't This Be Love..Love Walks In) fits Hagar to a tee. lol

  • @Kickstart25 Then how come we have never seen Dave attempt to sing this? Why haven't we seen Dave attempt to sing any Hagar track but Hagar can sing half of Dave's just as good if not better then he can? Hagar can do love ballads, and he can also do rock and roll. What can Dave do besides act like a goof onstage?

  • @codebreaker212p

Uh hello, VH toured with Roth for the first time on over 20 yrs in 07/08. I think the last thing on Roth's mind was, "Gee, I really need to sing Good Enough on this tour." lmao It was a classic VH reunion with material from the first 6 albums played live. Caught the tour twice & it was great both times. Bummer that M Anthony wasn't a part of it. I said the song had DLR written all over it, meaning the music fit his style. Calm down dude or you'll get a red rocking aneurysm.

  • @Kickstart25 In dave's book he said he had worked on tracks for this album before he quit.

  • @codebreaker212p who gives a fuck,as long as its good music so what.....slash aint got the technique of satriani/vai but he's got balls, soul, feeling thats what music is about remember ?...i like all those guys, you gotta take something from everyone u admire and mix it up,appreciate it for what it is and stop bitching like little faggots....go and see as many live bands as possible, signed or unsigned...explore...nuff said

  • @kamikazilynchmob why are you just telling me this? I'm not a diamond dave hater like it may sound like, Hagar to me is just a much better singer and plus this guy came on bashing Hagar for no reason.. why you singling me out?

  • classic eddie at 0.10 bent g string 7th fret with tapped harmonics at the 12th and 14th,back n forth...oh yeaaahhhh!!!

  • @kamikazilynchmob thanks!

  • @GuitarDave721 ...no probs dave....another eddie'ism...play trills w. left hand on the a string at frets 0,2,3 and 5 {a minor scale} whilst lightly touchting the string at the bridge with muting side of palm with right hand.whilst moving palm hand back n forth......a'la crescendo of random harmonics...eddie does this @ 0.44,on this track, and somebody get me a doctor interlude, sucker in a 3 piece intro.....dont know if u knew that one already, but hey you can do this in any scale/mode/key

  • all u dave people must admit sammy had u at HELLO BABY

  • @tac247 sammy hagar made it the best

  • Yeah this song is very underated.

  • One of the best VH songs EVER, of any lineup (and I'm a fan of both the main eras). What an AWESOME fucking song to drive to!

  • awsome song from Space Balls. you gotta love it!

  • @jessiepoo666 it was used on space balls

  • It's sometimes hard to choose between Van Halen and Van Hagar. Both variations of the band produced and recorded great rock and roll songs.

  • Takes me back to the good old days when me and some mates use to crank up VH and AC/DC on the weekends man were they good times.... Luved this album...

  • Comment removed

  • When I first got this album upon its released, I popped the cassette into my player into my truck and cranked it. Scared the be-jesus out of some old lady walking by. I didnt want her to get a heart attack but me and my friend could not stop laughing. This song is the shit.

  • space balls !!!

  • @badmofo83 Lol yea it reminds me of when barf's tail is in that girls skirt lmao

  • @Derkakrouse I love it when that alien dude rips outta that guys stomach and starts dancing haha!

  • Awesome Song!!

  • Magnificent upload. I bet Lee Roth still kicks himself when he hears anything off this album. he left them one album too early. As Queen Elizabeth would say, "they were in their fucking prime."

  • @carntspell ,, Can't Agree More ! .....But, Roth's fist Album (Eat ' Em and Smile) Did Kick some serious Ass ! I just Prefer Sammy, Because he's an Awesome singer And A " Great Guitarist " !

  • @carntspell the Queen would say that???

  • @Roggiedodgie She`s probably a real potty mouth when the camera`s aren`t on her.

  • @carntspell ha ha ha....I think she says "bloody" a lot

  • @carntspell yes fuckin sir//......
