  • i know im late 2 this one blood but good video bro. i was hopin u were gonna talk about sugar ray robinson. i always wondered how he would stack up in this p4p business. i think he would've brought the pain. ironically it made me think of suga shane.. with alot more power.

  • Not only in Boxing and basketball but also in the NFL. If you were to put a young/prime Marino or Montana in today's game, they would tear it up. Just because of the new regulations protecting QB's. Perfect example, look how Brett Farve is playing, his from that old school QB era. His 39 and having one of his best years so far. Imagine a young Marino....Manning who?

  • Blood, ur right man. We'll never know.

And boy does it suck!! Lol.

  • Advancements in "sports medicine" nutrition and training methods make a big difference. Remember the Klitschkos are "Doctors of Sports Medicine." wink, wink...

  • I would rather watch two world class fighters box than watch two world class MMA guys fight.

What makes MMA gay to me is that it wants to be similar to "no-holds-barred"-type combat, but it doesn't commit to it. Tell me now, if you were in a bar fight and the fight ended up on the ground and a motherf^cker was choking the shit out of you or had you pinned in some fancy method - you mean to tell me you wouldn't try to rip his balls off to get out of a choke or bite to get out of a pin?

  • I don't think MMA is a gay lol. But I agree actully it doesn't have to be 2 world class fighters for me it can be no namers and I would still rather watch boxing. Contrary to what mma fans believe there are more boring fights in MMA then there is boxing even when they are on there toes fighting they still look like idiots.

  • Great vids n great take from u Blood.

IMO, u put the talents, skills n hunger of the greats of yesteryear into this era with the better conducive environment in training, food n big $, i've no doubt they'll come out tops against the present lot. Dat said, i'm comparing purely on P4P (not as a title) as size matters in any contact sports.

  • Great video man

  • great vid and topic im going to check this dude out. im a big college and some pro ball fan. football and basketball.i gotta say its a top5. dont forget oscar robertson he avg a triple double 2 seasons, magic, bird, russell,mj. its tough for me to say mj is #1 so i just go top5 .peace

  • heyyy boo

  • heavy weights get smaller if you go back in time? Not if we are talking about Jess Willard or Primo Carnera

  • Okay you have two examples. Primo was about 6'5 and towered over opponents. Today at 6'5 you're not going to tower over HW's.

  • Yo Dragon, There is no way a prime Ali would lose to these out of shape HW's today. Remember these fuckers today can barely get pass 10 rounds without huffin and puffin. Now imagine Aerola,Peterson or no chin Vladmir having to go 15 with Shavers or Lyle

  • Blood good video as always. But I got a rebuttle. HW's of the golden era yes were smaller than today's like what you said about Foreman. But, today's HW"S would actully be considered out of shape imagine Vitali fighting Ron Lyle at 250 whilte the power hitter Lyle weight 220 ready for 15. That would be dangerous grounds for Vitali. Peace.

  • Thanks for mentioning the Duke, I believe a Prime Morrison would Run through the current Heavyweight Division but would have some Problems with the Klitschkos, But Morrison would have a very Live Shot and knocking those Guys out..

  • imagine jack johnson today how big hed be he was 6 2 225 back then that be a scary thought But imagine if Jack never gave birth to boxing defence U know u got guys like pernell floyd bernard even Ali who copped they styles from Jack imagine if there never was a jack johnson would these guys have the styles they had or if ali hadnt of bin influenced by ray robinson very interesting topic

  • great video i also agree michael jordan the greatest of all times

  • thanks for the saying bruceblitzconfession its a good show now that ived seen it

  • great topic, it is something we always do in our heads putting these guys up against each other hypothetically

  • Take time travel, 1 of my favorite topics and boxing, another 1 of my favorite topics. Add them together and you have one hell of a video. Good Analysis Blood. What about p4p rankings back then? What if we took all the fighters fighting today and shot them back like 40 years. Would the p4p rankings still be the same or wou;d you have guys like Paul Williams or the klitschkos ranked 1,2 and3. Based on fights and not popularity.

  • @Blood: Salute. Good topic. You made some great points. It seems to me the one intangible that those boxers had back in the day vs. today is heart. Those guys really didn't care about losing so much, they seemed hungrier and more dedicated to the craft. I can pick many journeymen that would have given some of today's fighters trouble because of that intangible(s). (IMHO).

  • In terms of ball, Jordan is the goat! He shot 50% from the field and back in his days the defense was much more vs. today (pistons and Knicks were physical).... He was first team all defense forever, He knew how to win, because of his dedication and the fact that he was not afraid of losing or messing up. Most boxers need to study Jordan, because they let some little things stand in front of them acheiveing greatness. BTW, Kobe is a better athlete, but JORDAN, ALI, R.ROBINSON, ARMSTRONG = GOATS

  • I think this topic could be taken further. Maybe a few vids comparing two fighter from different eras would work. How would Hopkins have fared against Robinson at middleweight? Everyone talks about Ali v Tyson but how would prime Lewis have gotten on against Ali? Guess we'll never know.

  • hey thorough vid man, but i have to disagree with you a lot. i don't think size would help as much for the bigger heavys, there's lots of examples in history of folks who weigh under 200 KOing folks who weigh 230 240 etc. sports nutrition may help fighters, but a lot of th emodern training methods have not worked yet, with something like boxing a lot of weigh lifting doesn't really help your power compared to just hitting the bag sparring and shadowboxing holding small dumbbells.

  • fighters today are influenced by more throughout history but fighters back then probably got to study more fighters cause they fought way more often and there were more venues who hosted fights all the time. everyone wanted to be a boxer if you're talking about the 40s and 50s. i think the experience and more solid skillset of the older era fighters would generally be too much for today's folks.

  • Good video. I wanted to do a video on the same topic. One of the things that you didn't mention was the effect of throwback fighters not fighting 15 rounds in today's game. How that would affect their style, pace, and output in the ring. Would it add/take away from their success? Effects from wearing bigger gloves and what not. You feel me?

  • Im A Massive Foreman Fan I Would Say 215-220 Was His Best Weights, Vitali Could Make It As A Fighter But I Really Don't Think Wladimir Couldn't Handle It

  • Michael Jordan is the best of the best. I used to have 3 basketball cards from him that were worth almost $20ea. back in the early 90's, now they are worth a whole lot more. When I moved from my parents house when I got married I lost the damn cards man. It pisses me off to this day, cause they were from the late 80's and irreplaceble. :(

Anyway, great video Blood. I always like to think the same thing & ask myself "What if..?" I would've love to watch prime-Tyson fight Foreman & Ali.

    5/5*s

  • This is a great video Blood. Primo Carnera was a Giant- But wasnt he like 6'5.

    MJ is the best ever.

  • well said blood, great stuff as always

  • imagine fights like

    - haglar vs hopkins

    - mayweather vs withaker

    -pacquiao vs chavez

we can talk about it... but we could never know for sure.

  • No doubt MJ is the man, p4p #1.

  • MJ over Kobe

  • Kobe>Jordan

  • Sure, don't forget Floyd>Ray Robinson while you're at it.

  • its all about competition. Kobe is facing players twice as good as the ones Jordan played againts. U cant compare boxers with basketball players. NBA teams dont pick their apponents

  • You're tripping if you think Kobes facing players twice as good as MJ.

  • the utah jazz team the bulls beat in the finals would get smashed by this jazz team that went out in the 1st round

  • I was refering to the players he faced not teams.

  • dont forget BOXING>MMA LMAO!!!!

  • In a boxing ring, yes. Anywhere else, no.

  • is that why that silva fool was a nobody in boxing and a somebody in mma

  • don't forget the different skills etc he can use in mma compared to boxing. I just don't think it's a fair comparison. Though he for sure would face many more good boxers in boxing, but would never face wrestlers, muay thai practitioners, bjj fighters.

He still fights elite fighters but they aren't boxers. I can't find for sure what you're replying to so sorry if i've jumped in with an invalid opinion. Peace

  • And which boxer would dominate in MMA if it were so easy?

  • and which mixed martial artist would stand a chance in a boxing match. two different sports. A golfer beats a basketball player at golf. A boxer wins in boxing. An mma wins at MMA. Not too hard to figure out.

  • I understand that and recently made the same point in my last vid.

  • Haplotype, Totally agree with your rational views.

I'm from S.E Asia n a great fan of Muay Thai for 15yrs. I'm also love boxing n has been watching it for more than 20yrs. A orthodox boxer stands little chance to win in Muay Thai in their rules cuz brutal knees, elbows are used beside punching n kicking. Likewise a muay thai boxer will have little chance beating an orthodox boxer within boxing rules. U cannot say who is better cuz there're different skills involved.

  • boxers are on another level in terms of conditioning. Did you see Cotto body slam Clottey with boxing gloves on! BOXING>MMA

homosexuals who like to roll around on the ground lmao!

  • Completely disagree on the conditioning aspect, no point in arguing about it.

I highly doubt you would say that to an MMA fighters face.

  • wtf? why would I. Im not a boxer

  • Would you say it to a mma fighters face. I wouldn't be scared of a MMA fighter because we in the streets now, Try doing a arm lock on my club when I bash him while he ain't looking.

  • No disrespect but unless you were packing a weapon you more than likely would still lose. I only made that comment because I don't think people should say anything about fighters that they wouldn't be willing to say to their face.

  • So what you saying we can't base our opinion. 916Chris so If I say lil wayne weak I can't because of what? Fuck MMA

  • You can say whatever you want, especially if it's about Lil' Wayne. Personally I just don't say things about individuals that I wouldn't say to their face, if you do things differently then that's fine just not how I operate.

  • I get what your saying bro. Peace.

  • Kobe>Jordan

  • Do you think that in the next 20 years young boxers will still be influenced by the Ali, Robinson, Hagler, and Lenard, or do you think they'll actually look up to the guys we have now?

  • I think they will look up mostly to the guys from the golden era because there will be several unanswered questions about todays fighters when they are not fighting each other

  • i think fighters like trinidad, manny , Whitaker, holyfield b-hop rjones will be looked up to

  • i agree bro...there will be a few .....but not as many as the golden era

  • blood i think floyd would have been more appreciated like willie pep

it was era when the sweet science was appreciated for its true beauty hit and not get hit

  • but with floyds hand problems he would have not fought as many fights as Pep

  • true

but in those times men fought for money and mostly pride

so i would think that floyd would have still fought because that would be the only way for him to put food on the table

and dont forget those were the times of oppression

floyd would have had at lest 100 fight with broken hands or not

somebody has to feed the kids

  • lol....yeah bro...good point......he would not have been making them big paydays he make today
