Elvis used to sing this song even in the mid-60s when he was stucked in Hollywood, so this song was probably a favorite of his. It's very bluesy and sound like a new "One night". The roughness in his voice just adds to the emotion.

BTW on an outtake Elvis played the piano in this song. It was released by RCA/BMG on the '69 anthology
