  • I also have very much respect for people who speak and write Chinese. But do they have to speak this in our country as well?? Here in Belgium we have 3 languages,Dutch,French and German.

  • @722vash because english is navigation language

  • Better believe it!Since they've have helped to form the pilots who took a blow at the WTC on 9/11.

  • Think differently if you laugh at that pilot. What about your Chinese ability? I have much respect for that pilot because he can speak English. Do you speak Chinese?

  • @sunnysunkansas1 thank u,u r so kind.

I am a chinese student pilot training in America now, language is a big problem, lol

  • @Bighter3 Good for you! Keep going, go far, and high up! ;) Best of luck to you on your training, career, and in tackling the language problem!

  • @sunnysunkansas1 a newsflash for you, English is the international language of air law. Every pilot has to be fluent in English. Commercial pilots get paid a handsome salary and they have the lives of many in their hands. Poor communication has caused many accidents and loss of life, one day your life may be in the hands of someone who's English is let's say below par.

  • Aaargh - Chinese robots have taken over the plane - but they arent programmed to socialize. Eminent meltdown!

  • one zero five seeex!

  • Ma che cazzo sta a dì sto cinese?

  • I'm a pilot and I cant even understand the chinese pilot.

  • the english is accurate ... but the accent is terrible

  • i have it say its sufficent

  • i'm a complete outsider and understood NONE of this...but especially the chinese guy.

  • @veXati0n Headings are directions of travel, altitude is the height, and knots the speed. Air traffic controllers direct flight traffic in and around airports to keep planes from crashing into eachother and to make sure the runway usage is smooth and continuous.

I'm not sure because I can't understand the Chinese pilot but it sounds like he is confirming contradictory instructions from what the ATC is giving him.

  • mandarin accent····

  • @Matt55481 hahahha dude you cracked me up on that one loool so true!

  • hahahhaha 3:00

  • Comment removed

  • He's trying his best!!

  • @Extermetal Yeah, but he still shouldn't be working in ATC. You can't understand a thing these funny americans say.

  • @pryletoncyo seriously? You are saying you can't understand the americans? how about the chinese pilots?

  • Communication doesn't necessarily require speaking the same language. Many times you can't communicate even with people whose native language is the same as yours and you can't make them understand you even when you speak and express yourself very clearly.

  • The accent may have been bad, but he read back everything perfectly fine. It was ATC who was jacking things up by mixing up the callsign even after the pilot was reading it back correctly each time.

  • I can understand the Air China pilot better than ATC

  • Could use some subtitles here!

  • that single laugh at 3:30 is brilliant

  • any misunderstanding happened in this case? damn...negative

English is not our first language therefore some accent is acceptable.

  • how can she managed to understand that ???

  • You guys should check out AirChina 981 video.... this is much better.

  • In 100-500 years, every pilot would have to speak Chinese. Then the Chinese pilots could laugh at other pilots :D

  • @MoustachesAreEpic I'd prefer to speak Japanese!

  • @MoustachesAreEpic In 100 to 500 years, we'll all be dead.

  • @ParisianZee What makes you think so? Our children and grandchildren etc. could still be alive. Oh god, don't tell me you believe in 2012?

  • @MoustachesAreEpic LOL I think they were just trying to express that change is possible, and so are many other things.

  • You cant possible dislike this

  • This is why Asian Airliners hire non Asians Pilots because they can speak Speak properly. I mean I can make better Pilot even though english not my first language

  • @leon6266

Perhaps... even though "english not your first language." :)

  • Russell peters pls train these pilots ...:))

  • i am come from hong kong but i can't understand what that chinese pilot talking about~~this guys english is totally shit~

  • @shinlovestellar

If I were you, i'd shut my mouth and correct the shitty grammar. Don't judge people's englishh with your shameful grammar. idiot. I AM also come from hong kong??? hahhahahahahahahha, such a shame.. by the way, i am also from hong kong

  • In ten years it's the American pilots fumbling over their Chinese on approach to Shanghai

  • @00Revell it's already almost like that... I fly there and I'm seeing it happen..

  • very interesting!!!!!

  • No, most Chinese are not great pilots because of how serious they don't take their training. I would like to see Chinese pilots get more than 250 hours of flight time before they climb into a heavy. Thank you Boeing for all of the automation to make flying safer.

  • I bet although he has an accent, he is probably a better pilot then most....

  • "A-pproch, AirChaanafuduh zeeor seex, uhh feerltchaago tangbase chaalielagabyf faurtyforfugh... withha leggapoo withraanway fooreight reft. Fouugh eeghtuh..ga..land" That's what 0:30 to 0:40 sounded like to me. haha. No racism intended!

  • even though i'm a proud chinese, i found this very funny

  • really funny

  • whats funny is that the air china pilot makes more money than the pilot who was laughinggg

  • @mejus16 Who cares how much money the air china pilot makes? Whats wrong with you?

  • when American who speaks Chinese they should laugh at us harder & I expect this will leads many deathes between China & U.S....watch.

  • 3.00 somebody starts laughing!

  • as well as they were able to fully understand each other and the pilot didn't get any instruction wrong, I don't think it is a fail....

  • @TURRRRRBO there was one time when he was given a vector to intercept the ILS and responded that he was in fact "Cleared" for the ILS, which wasn't the case, and that got a chuckle out of the controller.. to be honest, the controller should have clarified it right then, instead of laughing... which was a bit unprofessional.

  • we been here 9 houa we rand nowwwwww

  • Wow.....

  • hahahahhahaha

  • =D nice!

  • O.o

  • "Uh, I unnastan crear to rand..."

  • Ha... it's so wrong but I have to admit it's making me laugh out loud each time! One zero fieve seexxx

  • Cant believe he is a pilot with communication skills that bad :/

  • @plasmavor1 try flying IN China! I fly 747 freighters over there and understanding those controllers is serious work!

  • @plasmavor1 Not every pilot in China are well trained before take off. Even if I knew because their parents have relationship with manager, I couldn't say a shit but choose Cathay Pacific or China Southern Airlines which is better than him.

  • HA!
