I like to do that with songs that have meaningful lyrics that people don't usually listen to in the upbeat versions, because when it's sung in a different way you stop and think about what they have said. Like when you hear a song on the dancefloor you never wonder what the lyrics of a song are like or what they mean. I just like to put a differrent slant on them, instead of picking a song and just singing it.

These are my thoughts exactly. When I first heard your rendition of "Get Together" I actually stopped and thought about that song, it's actually a declaration of love type of song. Madonna's version sounds more of a flirty hook-up song, but your rendition really showcase it as a deep and honest love song.

@ppptpot its called CONTRAST. Similar to Jose Gonzeales' cover of Kylies Hand on Your Heart, (original was very bubble gum pop) you can take a song out of its original context and make something extremely powerful
