By contrast, Harry Potter offers characters who all look different and are accepted by the readers. It's a much more realistic approach in terms of how people in actual society look. I appreciate the values that are taught through out the Harry Potter series much more than that of the Twilight series. It shouldn't just all be about looks.

Wow, superficial much. Just because someone wears glasses, it doesn't mean they're 'ew'. Seriously, this is how the younger generation acts? BLAH! That's one thing I don't like about Twilight.  The books were alright, but it seems to bring out superficial attitudes amongst young woman because all the characters are 'beautiful'. The series doesn't appreciate everyone for their unique qualities. It's all about looks. In real life, we all look different and it shouldn't matter.

But, in my personal opinion, Harry Potter is much more awesome, since J.K. Rowling really put in a lot of effort to make a whole new world and story so unlike the average.

But, that doesn't mean that Twilight isn't a good story, either. It's just there are plenty of love stories, this one just seems to stand out more.

I've loved the Harry Potter-series since i was seven. Twilight I began to love about two years ago and about one year ago I was sick of it. What does that tell me? That I love Harry Potter more!

I was reffering to was the fact that they're both about things that most people find unrealistic in the sense that magic och vampire never will exist. Then you can say whatever you want about heartbreaks in Twilight, there are plenty of heartbreaks in Harry Potter. If you disagree with me then, you haven't read any of the books in that series and do not have the right to speak an opinion about Harry Potter being realistic or not. Or maybe you just don't find it heartbreaking when people dies.

It's not just the deaths of characters that are heartbreaking in the Harry Potter series. The love tale in The Prince's Tale alone is far more heartbreaking than the happily ever after that is the Twilight series.

lol, yeah the word limit is kind of annoying. But yes, I completely agree with you. I just finished reading the Twilight series for the first time a month ago, and I although I found them fun to read and quite enjoyed them, they didn't spark as much of an emotional impact on me as the Potter series did, even though I really liked Jacob's character and I felt for him at the end of Eclipse, it didn't get me to the point of tears like the last 3 Potter books.

Yes. Didn't cry once during the whole Twilight-saga, but cried at least five times during the Potter series. But to me (please, all twilight lovers, don't hit me), Meyer can't write. Yes the story she happened to stumble across is awesome and attracts millions of teenagers, but the writing itself is horrible. At least comparing to Rowling or any other writer for that matter.

I actually found there was more 'heartbreak' present in the Harry Potter series than in Twilight. The twilight books take place over a couple short years. Yeah, Edward leaves Bella for a few months, but then they get back together and live happily ever after. Characters like Severus Snape from the Potter series went through years and years of heartbreak and never got his happily ever after. Even Jacob in the Twilight series gets his happy ending, but not Snape. :(
