Okay the ears are gone because hes been caught with dogs before. When you work a hog in the bay pen and train new catch dogs they tend to rip ears off in a hurry. im pretty positive that wasnt from fighting. Ive had pigs get ears ripped off and then get out of the pen. it happens alot. now the scars and split tongue thats beyond me but i gaurentee you the ears are gone from being caught with dogs.
@cwarrior3 Could be right, CW, but it would have had to happen off the ranch, since dogs aren't allowed here. I've definitely seen dogged hogs before, and they do tend to lose their ears.
@Elwing1 In all honesty i have caught a pig 21 miles from where he got out of my pens from. they can cover unheard of amounts of ground to find another herd of hogs. he had a very distinctive scar so i know it was the same hog. i wouldnt be suprised at all if he found a hole in your fence and got in. its happened before but im almost positive thats what happened with this hog. he was caught with dogs and either released or jumped out of the pen.
Archery Hunting sounds awesome. Ive seen it with guns before but I dont agree with it so much, as I think its a bit of an unfair advantage. Bow and arrow sounds pretty sick though.
