I first heard this song while watching a TV series. Someone else was singing it, but I loved the words. Hearing this version of the song makes it even better.
i just love everything you sing, i havent heard 1 bad song of yours, such talent and u seem so normal, you didnt change ur name, no fancy dances or production, just u and ur guitar i love it!!
@xxXTheKeksXxx I don't want to start a book debate over an Ed Sheeran song xD
But yes, i agree that he is a great author and deserves every bit of praise that comes his way. However, the depth and thought that went into Lord of The Rings just blows me away: the plot was fairly basic, yet it was extremely satisfying at the same time, and so much thought went into it it's unreal. For that reason, Tolkien is my favorite author ever:')
There's a series of books called Bloody Jack where the girl sings this song and when I heard Give me love and this started playing I instantly recognized it. It's one of my favorite versions.
Do Only Reason I Ever Listen To 'Give Me Love' Is To Get To This Part (not saying I don't like give me love). Blast This Lie On My Bed And Stare At The Ceiling !!
"But since it falls unto my lot that I should rise and you should not" that part always gives me the chills.. This such an unbelievably beautiful cover
@gearoidbottom you are obviously a smartass who thinks hes better than anybody else, if you dont have anything better to say dont talk. go stuff shaun davies up ur asscrack, metal man.
good version but liam clancy is the best also cara dillion hill of thievesis a haunting rendition but hats off to ed 4 bringing this song to a bigger audience great job
i'd never heard the song before i got his CD but it made me cry i don't know why i guess it's just that good! Best version of this song in my opinion <3
He did the song justice. Stop looking for attention by saying he "ruined it". He put his own voice into it which is what you're SUPPOSE to do when doing a cover :) I'm Irish too by the way! Just enjoy the beautiful music or g'wan away :)

Absolutely fantastic song, although i think Ed Sheeran did a fine job, The High Kings carry it brilliantly in the Irish tradition that it was written for.
These hidden bonus tracks dont half scare the hell out of me sometimes...ya'know your sat there chillin...just minding your own when BOOM.... they're back...
i was listening to the song "Give me love"...and don t know why i never listen to all song...but one day i did...i was like..:o wtf??i don t know this fucking incredible song[the parting glass]..it s like a piece of heaven:D
i don't see why it has to become a competition, he's just singing his version. my personal favourite is this one from 'The Dubliners - The Masters' album...search The Dubliners - The Partin' Glass instead of 'Parting'
This is Liam Clancys song. it was played when Liam was lowered into the Earth and for ever shall be his in my eyes. Nobody else can do this song justice after hearing his version.

@IsaacMorrissey Here man just because people rather The Pogues version doesn't mean you have to take it out on MacGowan?!
