Hi Uli, you're right, Hausser pickup is more acoustic and pure.

The Bartolini is fatter, but the Haussel has more "air"

I love both !

If you wanted to make a fair comparison you wouldn't have used a pick for the Bartolini and fingers for the Haüssel :/

@cbranchereau You're right! I didn't realize that when i made the video. The nails produce a brighter sound than the pick. Apart from that the Häussel has more trebles.

wie hast Du eigentlich die PU´s befestigt? Ich spiele eine HCT-J17 und möchte den PU auswechseln. Die Bracketlösung finde ich eher unschön.

@candyman2312 : Hallo Frank, soweit ich weiß, gibt's beide Pickups auch mit "Ohr", einer Verlängerung mit der man den Pickup hinterm Schlagbrett befestigen kann. Ich hab bei mir einfach eine dünne Holzleiste mit 2 Komponenten Kleber auf die Rückseite des Pickups geklebt und hinter dem Schlagbrett mit Holzleim verleimt. Geht auch ;-)

Hallo Uli, das ist ein schönes Video und ne tolle Idee. Abgesehen davon, dass Du klasse gespielt hast, würde ich den zweiten Pick-up nehmen, Häussel (hab´ich noch nie von gehört;-). Die Höhen wären mir wichtig.

@FrankRMusic Mir gefällt der Hässel (im Moment) auch besser. Ja, ein deutscher Pickup Hersteller mit sehr guten Kritiken (nicht nur für Archtops) .

I also was thinking about gettinga Kent Armstrong, but i'm happy with the Häussel pickup. Your Ribbecke is such a beautiful, great sounding guitar!!! Congrats! :)

Both are excellent pickups. I use a pickup made by Kent Armstrong from England. My archtop guitar is a custom one of a kind built for me by Tom Ribbecke. I have had it about 11 years. The back and sides are aged cello wood. It projects nicely.

Bartolini had a nice mellow warm tone.. The Haussel brought out more Mids and highs ..Both are sweet !!!
