I heard the interview with Jake on the Nobody Heroes album...they got incredibly blind drunk after having re-recorded the track for TOTP under the scrutiny of the Musicians Union and they had put the equivalents of mutes on the drum kit...which is also why in TOTP there is a track where the drummer wears one of the crash mutes on his head...the whole story was quite funny.
ordinary lads in of millions on the telly. brilliant stuff! i'd be pissing my self with leaughter if it was me. thats what punk was all about! great band
HAHAHAHAAAA!!!! Top performance, top band, overall TOP COMEDY FLICK! - vocalist Burns laughing at himself in the screen up above, the drummer leaving his seat to join the rest of the band and the drumming's still going, LOL!!! Pure comedic synching that only bands like this can pull off in style on TOTPs.
lol i just listend to the interview like mkbass92 did and searched around the internet, XD funny as hell, drummer literaly duct taped drum sticks to his hand so he had three or for on one hand then he was just beating the shit outa the symbols oh my god that was funny as hell
I always used to wish the same thing, but there are a crap load of bands that are really fuckin good, bands that are making the best music i have ever heard in my life. Now I am truly happy to be born in this era. Bands Include The Spits, The King Khan & BBQ Show, The Coathangers, The Gaye Blades. Just to name a few.
punk was dead after the band the Blitz was in and out of the public vernacular so fast--around the time of the Instigators, Subterfuge..actually before that even.
punk is an attitude, whereas the ramones were singing about blitzkrieg bop and shit like that s.l.f. sham and best of all the clash were singing about real life ,unemployment no money ,etc wake up usa green day are not the be all and end all of punk
Punk is an attitude mr farrell not a hair cut, just look at another great band you might of heard of, if ur head was'nt stuck up ur arse, called The Ramones!
im sick of you faggot fucks who say punks dead. punk will never die. as long as the spirt of it lives it wont die. slf are perhaps one of the greatest songs ever made. and i get to go see them soon
SLF - brilliant. Sad bastard that I am, I remember that this TOTP was actually on a FRIDAY night for some reason...soccer?...anyway I made an even worse recording on my crappy old tape thing off the TV (no leads or owt like that in those days)
remember, after this album they got really mellow and decided not to play their older songs. Yep, I saw them in 1981..and they got mad at the audience for asking them to play their old tunes. Bummer.
Saw SLF at the forum in London a few months back. Best live band I've ever seen without a shadow
