  • P.S. I have a dongle, T-Mobile and also a PAYG dongle with 3 and it works fine, for the most part. When the connection goes down a little, it does go a little out of focus but I was surprised at how well it works! It can be done on a dongle! Also, my laptop is only 1.5ghz and yet I was still playing Driver: San Francisco, PES 2012 and the new Batman game.

  • Do something wiv yer hair, yer silly sausage!

  • i have a 10MB/S network. onlive works beautiful

  • 6mbps? That's quite a bit here

  • I have Comcast cable modem with a 40mbs connection and no lag at all. playing onlive feels exactly like playing a installed game. its amazing!

  • i have a virgin media 12 mb connection and playing over wi-fi with my mac (1 year old) caused no lag what so ever.

  • To bad i have a crappy internet connection

  • Retard, the remote looks more like a PlayStation controller!

  • hmmm.. so you play video games for a living? I hate my life

  • @vonobox1 Wtf how?

  • I've got a 30mb connection and OnLive is always as smooth as silk. Skyrim on an Android tablet , amazing - iPad to come very soon - save your game on that, continue playing on a crappy 5 year old laptop that can barely run minesweeper but can play Dirt 3 on OnLive.....what's not to love?

  • bf3 when will it be there

  • @djcrossfade it wont. Ea don't want to release their games

  • @Mortalstefan that sucks

  • I watched that ac revilations clip

  • I think so

  • dus onlive have achievements cud sum one let me no

  • you don`t look so needry as you sound :P

  • we have an awesome connection and onlive works perfectly

  • i have a 50 meg connection and i get almost perfect movement but just a few hiccups

  • It's Harry Flynn from uncharted 2

  • Doesn't he work for EA?

  • u are one ugly bastard

  • do i need to buy the games from onlive or i can just buy it from the store and play it on onlive ??

  • Major flaw with this concept. When the companies shut down their servers you lose all your game saves & more so your library of paid for games. Am I right in saying this?

  • I'm excitd to play skyrim on iPad

  • You sound like the bald dude from the gadget show!

  • PS3 Controller + Xbox 360 Controller = OnLive Controller

  • you mentioned that the onlive tv system is very portable due to its small size and cloud storage. But, An Xbox 360 has a removable hard drive without the glithcy streaming process so whats the point in buying one?

  • My Onlive set up is pc and the Micro. I was the Micro more than my pc. Never get issues. Love the service.

  • I just went into OnLive for the first time in over 6 months, its amazing how good their game selection is -- includes many of the best games of 2011.

  • Or beacuse that style analogue sticks are better

  • As edd arnold would say "this sounds like a sales pitch". Nice to know you brought up the connection issue. Remember kids, porn and streaming games takes up bandwidth so choose which is more important.

  • Thumbs up if u came here to see how he looks like :P

  • Add me on Onlive- k3llogskid. I play borderlands.

  • @socomaster kk i added you

  • I live in the uk and i neber had any delay, for some reason. the picture went inaudible sometimes, but no delay at all.

  • Finally a face to the voice

  • @adidasDC It's not like it's the first time he's shown his face though..

  • I bought Deus Ex:HR through OnLive and found it to be awesome. It has a delay, it's noticeable but easily adjusted to. I've heard people having zero delay, but I always have one. However, it is slight enough that I can ignore it. I have a 15Mb/5Mb connection. I live in Central Florida, in the states.

  • It looks more so like the wii's classic controller pro.

  • K if you have a very good gaming PC, then Onlive is useless to you since you can just buy the games from the store or through Steam. But if you just have a normal office computer, then Onlive is for you since you can still play modern games on a crappy computer.

  • @EdgeRatedR007 Good deals? Steam kid. Got 22 games for 40 quid. Every grand theft auto game and dlc for 20. Oblivion for less than 4 quid. There are deals like this all the time, seriously.

  • @cornchippers Then don't buy Onlive. Downloading games is great anyway because you don't need to play about with disks, and all your games are available at your fingertips. I used to like physical copies too, but Steam changed my mind.

  • he is on ea games channel (eavision), so I have known what he looks like for awhile

  • I want the physical copy of the games I purchase not this downloading crap.

  • @cornchippers what downloading? this arent even downloads, you literally pay for nothing lol, you pay to be able to play em but if onlive goes out of bussines youll be left with nothing but a lot of wasted money, and the prices arent even that good. the system is good if you dont want to spend in consoles or a powerful pc and like to rent games, then the setup is nice if you have a nice internet speed

  • He has a face

  • OnLive is the new Sega Channel.

  • virgin Fiber connection and works gri8

  • I've used OnLive for about two years, only in the last few months using the dedicated UK service, I have no delay when playing, I fucking love it. Also enjoying the shit out of Deus EX HR and SFVI Arcade Edition. Fuck installing gb's of bullshit, OnLive is the future of games, it will do for games what Spotify has done for music. Great japes!

  • You look older than you sound :(

  • theres a lot of hate about onlive and about peole crying over a hardcopy not seeing that onlive is not a main console like ps3 but just a game service. the best thing i like about it is that they always give good deals. we even got Amnesia for free. they also do things like preorder one game and get one free etc. just try it. its free anyway. dont be a bitching hardcopy fanboy

  • guys he has shown his face before. no need to be surprised...

  • The service works well with 10MB wireless Internet on my 2.1GHz laptop

I love the idea of playing modern PC games without needing to buy the expensive hardware

But I wish games like Bioshock weren't restricted to the Play pack bundle and that more modern games like the witcher 2 and battlefield 3 were available

Other than that it's a pretty good service for me!!!

  • with the recording feature, could you also post the videos on youtube as well?

  • Seems neat but my slow internet would probably disagree.

  • i dont have any issues using ONLIVE & im on a virgin media 10mb fiber optic connection

  • dont you just hate it when both the top comments are a big contradiction

  • you look a lot like i expected :D

    thx for your amazing reviews

  • lol you look different then the way you sound

  • Meh...I'll still with conventional gaming..

  • @30mmBalistic Any day the servers die, you cant play, any day they delete your account you cant play, i prefer a hard copy of my games.

  • @Brand2323 you mean the proper way? The language is ENGLISH, remember ...

  • Saints row the third!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow !! I never imagined you to look like that & I've been your subscriber for 2 years now :]

  • @WILDLEGHORN I always put him at 24 wiht like chin length hair lol. odd

  • @MadmanJoE100 yea I know...

  • @WILDLEGHORN he shows himself on his website...

  • You need an internet connection to play.... Nuff said...

  • FINALLY

  • You look exactly as I expected. lol

  • I played it for couple weeks with my shitty internet connection (DL speed - 500kb/s) and it was pretty good. No "lag" totally (Yah, im serious). But the graphics quality (streaming) is controlled by your speed. Better internet speed - better looking.

  • His voice is unique (y)

  • Sounds good, however, I don't like being dependant on the internet to play games.

Plus, I've heard it's laggy no matter how good your connection.

  • im officially calling my router from now on a rooter sounds so much better XD

  • I don't like buying data on disc's to begin with, an i will never buy data were i cannot hold the physical copy of the data, so onlive is a fail in my books.

  • I like how he says router.....

  • You're awesome matt. i watch all your reviews and they rock.

  • You're the guy... off... EA Pwned?

    Mind = blown

  • its going to be amazing on my 1 mb internet. im sure of it :D

  • @saffar110 it requires atleast 4mb's i think lol im screwed to, i have on 2-3mbs lol

  • my computer keeps on crashing when I use onlive

  • I am from mid Europe (Lithuania) and connection with onlive here is horrible. Beside that I am getting only 40-50 FPS which is low. To tell the truth I don't think this is ever going to be as responsive and smooth as playing with good local machine (PC or console) no matter what connection u have got.

  • ive tried onlive and it just would not work with my internet connection. Its definitely a good idea though

  • Its not only lag that happens with you internet connection. Graphical quality changes as well. We have virgin internet in our student house (very fast) and my friend tried playing deus ex on onlive. There was lag and the graphics were turned waaaaay down. Even lower than my 360 version. There was also a lot of "pop in".

  • i got metro 2033 for onlive on sale. Online is okay the input lag makes shooting a bit off and the picture quality goes from decent to awful. I got a 12mbps net whitch is more then 2 times faster then i need to play onlive.

  • Can you download the witcher 2??

  • is it free if u download it on android market??

  • @LAKESHARPER program itself is free... the other stuff and the subscription is the expansive part

  • I just had an advert for something called 'Binwheevils' the guy talking was you i think :)

  • i thought you looked like a nerd before seeing you like this!

  • @YesseBify by that i take it you don't think I look like a nerd. Good to know!

  • THE HUSKY'S ON THE PICTURE BEHIND YOU

  • i get comcast 25mbs it works flawlessly even over my wireless with my laptop

  • @rxl209 25mbs ?? dude do you life on a google server

  • @EphraimRodrigez what do you mean ?

  • I have a 40 up and 10 down and it still doen't run that good. Consoles look better.

  • Could've at least combed your hair, Mr. Gamesweasel...

  • @cheesypoohalo did it specially - don't use a comb!

  • AHA! He's talking like a real person! Hurrah.

  • try bt infinity it is amazing

  • This might sound strange to say but after all of this time hearing only your voice, you look exactly how your voice sounds.

  • @kuunami i always thought hed be younger

  • I only play SC2 on PC!

  • virgin media connection 30mbs and its fucking perfect!

  • @badboykilroy UPC fiber 150mbps is much better.

  • @Joszomitsu okay... im in the uk and can't get that

  • i have 3 mb internet and it works perfectly fine

  • Experimental product is experimental.

  • i have a 60 Mbps connection, it still has some lag and bitrate issues, the idea is great, it just would work better if they had more servers, the games sometimes lag, and that has nothing to do with my connection.

  • its funny how people say "wow first time I seen your face" where hes shown his face so many times before, even on his website ........oh i been seeing his vids when I had a psp I was sub d to his pod cast long ago.

  • @eljackass14 don't forget g@mers (a TV show here in the UK where he was on camera every time) i'm sure there's footage somewhere of said program

  • yeah, sure, let's stream everything. ~_~ it's not like we've allready got problems with traffic overload or something like that in today's web architecture...

  • I have a 10mbps connection from virgin media which works great when I am playing Batman Arkham City. The only downside is that if you download or stream a fixed amount of data then virgin media will throttle your internet connection by 75% and then my connection is at 2mbps and the game looks like crap. That is really annoying. Also during the holidays and times when everyone is using virgin media they throttle you alot more than 75%. Infact they throttled me down to 99% once. I hate VM for that

  • i did not thank you would look like that

  • Too much bandwidth to waste on single player games. I use all mine for Old Republic.

  • The concept of streaming games works, but not in 2012, maybe we'll see it work in 2015, or later.

Today i'd say that only 10-20% of the potential OnLive-market has good enough internetspeed to use OnLive.

I tried it myself om a 150/100 mbit net, and i had a 1 second delay, that is just wrong.

  • the only thing i like about about this is the controller why can't all of them have the record feature itd be so much easier uploading vids

  • @hazenpaul10 Because OnLive uses your PC, consoles don't have software to store with or upload.

  • @VideoGameWire sadly i wish it did

  • You look very different than I imagined. I expected Harry Potter! THIS VIDEO DISAPPOINTS ME!

  • @ManofTinProductions I do however do magic.

  • What happens when this OnLive company goes out of business , will they refund consumers their money for their purchased games ? I will stick to consoles and pc ,at least you have an option to buy a physical copies of games.

  • OnLive is quite stupid. People say that it's for people who don't have 'Gaming' PCs. Well to use OnLive normaly, you need at least 2mbps download speed, and people who can afford that can certanly afford a gaming PC.

  • Mmm well since I lack gaming pc's it would offer me access again to some great pc games.

  • 'Your Rooter' lol'd.

  • i got a 7mb connection and every game on onlive runs perfect no input lag no game lag it runs nice

  • @allgamesfan Same with me. I hit a little higher at ten, and I have no issues with delay when playing games. That said, I do have the grainy image quality that people bring up a lot. This was good for me when I was between xbox's.

  • I think the service has potential, but it's still a bit too early for it to be succesful. Once glass fiber internet becomes the norm and everyone has a 100mb+ connection the service will be a lot more attractive..

  • little late for the review biches

  • @DeMoN5377 disagree. New people are coming to it all the time.

  • I love how BT is offering people free Playpacks for 3 months, considering how their connection to my house couldn't hope to run Onlive

  • Onlive works great if you have a 100mb internet connection, a crap computer and no games console. So that's me :)

  • Got a 10Mb Virgin Media line and it works fine for me, and no controller delay or lag. If you have a wired 360 controller and you plug into your PC it will recognise it, as well as the mic plugged into it. I however wont use it as it will eat up about 3GB of data per hour.

  • you sound like Ian Wright!

  • Onlive is basically a pc which is running the a game at max settings & it's getting streamed to your monitor.. Easier explanation

  • Got a 20Mbit connection... OnLive works fine for me as long as there are no connection problems, but I had the same problem with the delay or lag or whatever you want to call it. Out of all the games I tried most of them worked fine, but in some games, like a FPS, I was doing quit bad compared to how I do usually. I like the idea, but I would never probably buy anything on it. I like it because its a nice way of trying out games without having to actually download and install a demo.

  • [2] Another problem I did have with it were the graphics. The games simply don't look as good (blurry textures,etc..) as they would look on a good PC rig.. and I don't like the idea of actually not owning anything physical that I could play once onLive dies which will happen someday. (simply put - I like retail copies of games)

  • I don't get what all the fuss is about with Steam. The concept is ok, but I don't want to be locked out of a game because Steam is having a fit. It seems more like anti-piracy than anything useful to the player.

  • @Monacomaverick Steam has really good deals, last month arkham city was 20 bucks and skyrim had a 33% discount. It's easy to use and the service is rarely down. At least I never experienced it being down.

  • @vanrok then they wouldn't be exclusives

  • Pretty laggy for me too, I am on sky also, But i can't get it to work as fast as my laptop.. So i'm going back to xbox lol

  • I have a 30mb virgin connection & works fine although I prefer gaming on my ps3, onlive is the only way I can play decent games on my iMac

  • if they add games witch are xbox or ps3 exclusives than it will worth playing from pc :D

  • @vanrok wouldnt be exclusvies then

  • @vanrok which*

  • @vanrok It's worth playing on PC anyway. I rarely play on a console. Maybe every few weeks/months or so.

  • services like this have a lot of potential but as everybody knows the internet infrastructure is just not at the required level, by the time the internet is fast enough to deliver a smooth and consistent experience the next gen of consoles will be out there providing a level of detail and clarity that will again be too much for the internet too deliver

  • I have a virgin 20 meg package which runs at about 18meg down and 2 meg up and it still does not run very well. So I will stick to my PS3.

  • oh there it is, i hope it was worth the 'do it to death' youtube advertising campaign

  • Is the Micro console the hardware accelerator?

  • @Kousaburo no it's just a way to get the signal into your TV and also connect a controller

  • Just wait till SOPA removes this.

  • @MyRsIrl Onlive games are all licensed by the companies that make them.

Think of it like Netflix for video games.

  • First time ever seeing your face lol

  • @Ghostkiller108 No ive seen it a lot before

  • @Ghostkiller108 it isnt the video when he launches crap games with a catapult

  • I'll rather use steam, that's free...

Seems like a good idea though, just a bad timing.

  • the idea is good just bad timing tbh

  • @ivan9066

im sticking for console and steam

  • Ok then how much was it?

  • @gamesxlegendz 99 pounds on amazon.co.uk

  • WERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?

  • @SICKTRICK71 Where*

  • I will stick with console gaming and steam :)

  • I saw onlive about a year ago and it always seemed like something interesting. But console and computer gaming is what I'll stick with.
