I purchased this amp about a year ago and to this day I have had no problems whatsoever. If you wanna wire the amp down to 1ohm it can be done but only with 1 DVC 2 ohm subs, if you try to wire down 2 DVC subs that are both @ 2ohms the ohms will drop down to .5 ohms and the amp can not handle that actually no amp that is 1 ohm stable ...

After much research, I've purchased the Powerblocks Sport 9.0's that go up to 90 lbs. The 50lbs are expandable to the 90lbs, and then that set into the 130lbs. I am completely satisfied and excited by the set. My review is not to explain their function, but to save anyone the research time between Weider's, Bowflex, Ironmaster, ...

  • Thanks for the vid. I have the 90's and wanted to see the 130's in action. Your vid gave a better view of them than the little pictures on other sites.

  • you have too much time on your hands

  • are there any videos showing someone actually picking one of these monsters up??

  • Which is better? Powerblock elite or powerblock sports series?

  • These look like if ever wanted to go up to 130, some exercises would be impossible because of the size of each dumbell. I can't see myself doing a chest press with that huge thing in each hand. My question is, how good are these for 100/105/110 weight? is the size of the dumble at that weigh still decent enough to do regular exercises?

Im not freakishly strong or anything, I would RARELY go to 100 but when Im pumped I can go pretty high, so I had that doubt.

  • Great video, I just have a question. I haven't done any weighs since I got married, which was like a year ago but before that I used to do up to 100 pounds each hand when I was doing some chest exercises and some triceps. I did 100 because thats the max weight my gym carried, now I want to get back to lifting but in my house, so I ordered the sport 9 up to set 3, which goes up to 130 pounds but I dont see my self going over 100 (continued in the next post)

  • Where did you get these?

  • I would not trust these dumbbells , what if my hand gets caught up in there trying to lift 130 lbs. I would rather use regular hex I could always drop them. If I would to be doing a shoulder press that would really hurt if they come apart n fall on my head.

  • @rickalex21 They don't come apart and you can drop them

  • I like to use the 130 pound Powerblocks for a little warm up, then I move on to benching farm tractors and railroad cars.

  • I use these 130 pound dumbbells on tricep kickbacks all the time. ;)

  • @RANDOMCHILDBAM lmfaooo

  • Do some reps with the 130's

  • what kind of exercise do youuu need 130 pounds of weight for???????????

  • @Frankiej27 Shrugs

  • @4inches4u what was the point of buyingg them then?lol

  • @Frankiej27 I know! Really all you need is the 90 pound blocks. I can only get a few reps with the 130's on the bench, and they are a BITCH!

  • @Frankiej27 Deadlifts

  • hey everyone does nebody know what extra stuff do u have to buy to get the 130s? do u know how much exta it would cost? thanks.

  • God, that thing is hideous.. Go Bowflex!

  • @fifo32 Bowflex dumbbells are pure garbage compared to powerflocks. The bowflex units are designer plastic junk. Powerblocks are steel with a 10 year warranty, and the are way more versitile based solely on the fact that you dont need to go back to a special rack to drop off or pick up extra weight.

  • @killerkowalczyk No this thing is hideous.. id rather lift my fat ass brother than lift this. P90X all the way.. Sorry man

  • @fifo32 ill give u that they dont look good bro, but they r very durable and r made of quality steel...the bowflex r good but they break too easily bcuz of the plastic. either powerblocks or bowflex r good but powerblocks r much better in my opinion

  • I bought my elite set way back in the beginning.years ago..I just received my 8-11 extension set(408.00 including shipping)..and yes now they're super expensive..thanks for the video..I couldn't figure out how the big plates were pinned in from the picture on the website.

  • id like those but theyre like 1200 dollars

  • no, they're less than 900 dollars. That does sound expensive, but if you want the same with a full set of individual weights, prepare to spend almost $5000.

  • The 130's were too expensive for me. Most people are never going to use that amount of weight anyway. 90 is pushing it for the majority of lifters.

  • man that thing is sooo big id rather just pay a little more and get the bowflex but the smaller ones of the powerblock is pretty cool

  • the bowflex selecttech only goes up to 90lbs. If you needed the 130lbs that comes with this, buying the selecttech would be a waste of time. You'd might as well just buy the 90lbs version of the powerblock. I love those things. Just got mine yesterday but they're worth every penny. They're built to last as long as you aren't one of those dumbass that hurls the weight to the floor after you're done with a set.

  • bow flex are bigger then teh power blocks

  • if i get the lower weight version can i buy plate later to increase the weight?

  • Yes, if you get the elite set that goes from 5-50 lbs. it only costs about $350, you can add adjuster plates to go from 50--90 lbs. or to 130 lbs. Those adjuster plates are a couple hundred bucks each. Most people will never be able to lift a 130 lb. dumbell. Also, most free weight stands at gyms only go to about 90 lbs, but if you are ever able to do that much weight, than good for you.

  • I love my powerblocks I have a 10-90pound set, but I have to admit the convenience and design of Powerblocks breaks down after that point, to use anything over 90 pounds looks like a pain

  • I totally agree, over 90 and it defeats the purpose of the quick change dumbbell. It's still faster than loading plates on handles and still very compact for such a heavy weight!

  • Id still like to get the 130 lb extension at some point 90 pounds is very light for things like flat/incline bench, shrugs, deadlifts.

  • The Elite 130's are about 19.5 Inches long!

  • Good Review! How long are they, when you have all the weights?
