@CCSinventions Everyone seems to use Linears. They have been around forever. In Canada where I live you don't even need a license anymore to operate a CB radio. Basically it's a free for all and you can buy Boots at some CB radio stores.

look up what frequency the average whistle is, then look up what tone you are supposed to use when you tune a cb. then get back to me ok. BTW i know that you shouldn't use a whistle to tune, use a tone generator and inject the audio directly into the radio. plus its just a field strength meter, and this is just a youtube video to show some of that SWANG lol

@tobyk321 I HAVE looked it up! i have been a radio technician for over 40yrs The proper way is with a tone generator which you stated! However by whistling into the mic just perpetuates the bad habit. Swing is a good thing for sure! You don't talk in whistles so you test you rig with one?

in the video im not trying to tune anything, im just trying to show how the radio CAN swing. trust me i don't tune my gear this way. CB is just a fun hobby for me, thats why i got my ticket so i can drop down on 20 meter and work the world with only 100 watts. thats where i'll take things seriously friend. and as for perpetuating a bad habit. come on man, you've heard the turkeys out on cb (me being one of them most of the time) the bad habits are already there haha

It never ceases to amaze me how many ppl will video tape illegal things and acts. I don't have to tell you how your in violation of FCC regulations.

You mention annoying trucks, I guess you A: only care for a one way conversation with 95% of the people you reach and B: don't realize over 50% of truckers don't have a CB or don't have it on, and of the other 50% that have it on 90% of them will turn it off when a big radio having a one-way convo steps in.

Your set up is clean though and I think its a sweet set up.

Last thing.. you set up the 2nd altenator, and batteries. At what level do you say you'd need all that? I mean not for a simple 200w kicker right?
