  • Freaking awesome!!!!! Can I ask wot the music playing is??? It's beautiful & fits the video perfect!

  • Who the hell disliked the video?? I wanna slap them.

    This is marvelous

  • Great video. What is the soundtrack?

  • Yep. You could call it editorial time lapse.

  • so its actually 5DmkII in video mode played back faster? not timelapse photography ?

  • Awesome work. Beautiful clarity.

  • "Some is 1000 percent speed up." does that mean this is video?

  • great video...love all the shots...

what song did you use for this?

  • your my new best friend.

  • very powerful. shots are perfectly composed... sped up it looks great! Bravo!

  • Panorierig isch..... Zoom plus Pan. Sorry! So weich chan i 's au nut!

  • Geil häsh das gmacht!

Wie häsh d´panorierig so schön weich hänebracht?

    gruess vo schwede!

  • beautiful filming and quality! this remeber me of some Lord of the rings landscapes

  • Just speed it up till it looks right. You shoot it just the same as anything else - but locked off on a tripod!

  • hey mate, great video!

can you explain my how do you do a timelapse with the 5D II ?

is there a timer or did you simply clicked endlessly frame after frame ? or are these simply speed-up videos ?

  • I like the combination of the music and the video, they make a profound effect, very well done! I'm exceedingly envious of your balcony and it's view ;)

  • @Seeringipity

Thanks Seeringipity. The funny thing is that I ended up here on accident. I'm a californian!

  • Nice vid!

How long were you recording at each place?

and how much faster are you speeding it up?

and what will happen to my footage if IS on? just curious.

    thanks!

  • @Q3237

Hey, sorry for the late response. On my EF 70-300 IS DO, the image stabilizer is busy like a boxer's footwork, waiting for something to react to. I don't know technically why it's like that, and you would never notice it, unless you did a lock-off on a tripod and sped it up. Then you see what's happening a la "Paranormal Activity" ; ) Each shot has a different speed. Some is 1000 percent speed up. The recordings are many lengths with the longest being 12 minutes. Have fun!

  • absolutely stunning man

  • nice job! first if my FAV!

  • Amazing work !

will be trying this on my 5D 2

  • That is such a PRO video! We just started using 5D Mark II as well.

So far it is an amazing tool

  • superb...I'm getting a 5dmkII in 2 months...would you mind explaining how you made the timelapse?

  • Sure. It's just software. Vegas on the PC side, or in my case Final Cut Pro for mac. You can take about 14 minutes per recording on the 5d. Put that clip on the timeline in iMovie or After Effects, or Final cut, or vegas, or whatever your using and then change the speed of the clip. In my case some clips are playing at 2000 percent others are as slow as 400. Just whatever looked right. Have fun!

  • awesome thanks...these look great,,,oh, and why only 14ish minutes?

  • @MarkReedreber nice! thank you for the explanation, I have the 5d and was always wondering how people did that.

  • That's all it allows! 14 minutes is about the limit on the camera

  • @MarkReedreber Brilliant video Mark. I got a timer for timelapse stuff but often just shoot video and speed it up like you have done here. Btw, you get 12 minutes filming on the 5d. Is down to the FAT32 file limit of 4GB...

  • Where is that? Wow awesome!

  • Gratzi millione!

  • Molto bello.

  • Come on! I had to go all the way out to my balcony for that.

  • I hate your life. :) Amazing.
