when i go to select, modify - i only get one option; border, there is no option to select contract. why?

hey dude great video very informative, & super easy to understand , i found a problem when i got to the creating the layer from the default black to white, holding down the alt and clicking, on my ps3 it stays black and does't change to white...is frustrating the s#@^&%t out of me , any ideas ......thanks mate sudz

I have selected all also, and contract stays greyed out for me too.

If I don't select all and try to size it by eye, the contract option is there.

Odd as when I try to do it by selecting all it stays grey.

Is this a CS2 bug ?
