That's why I changed my footwear to a Vintage Vans skate shoes like Vans Graph, Vans Knu Skool, Vans Floyd, Vans Old Skool.

The old skool and the low chucks aren't all that different when you think about it. Chucks are SLIGHTLY more flexible since it's not suede like on vans. But other then that they're REALLY similar shoes.

the us im guessing, i have no idea, i really want a pair too, but my guess is only in America, and u can bet theyl cost like 20-30 bucks more. u could try ebay or just type it in on Google and take a few hours looking for them, thats all i can suggest.

Of course they are not used for basketball today, because the basketball shoe industry grew up, BUT, They Were made for basketball.

In addition to that the first idea was to create a basketball shoes so Converse developed them in 1917, The Basketball players didn't catch the message from Converse about the shoes, so Chuck Started to use them and they became popular because he was promoting the shoes and the game, later he made changes in the original design, and Included His name on the patch.
