I don't get the red bandanas either. As far as I know it's not an NZ thing... but maybe an Auckland thing?

I think it's just the uniform created by the shows designers. The Tribe is set in the future so I guess they added the bandanas to make the uniforms different, you'll also notice they have patches on the shirts and blouses and also barcodes on their sleeves.

Wow! I was in two minds wether to put that clip in or not. It originally had Spikes body floating in the pool followed by Ebony's reaction to seeing the body, but then I really wanted the Patsy hugging Ebony scene, so was going to delete Spike compltely, but I just couldn't.
