  • It's always a pleasure to listen to a good song by a legend!

  • love his teddie you sure put some great stuff of waylons i havent heard ..... thanks sweety xx

  • Jennings knew his way around a song, making it his very own. With so much manufactured and soulless country music out there these days, what a treat it is to hear this 60's track by a timeless artist.

  • Now this was when Waylon could sing...before Willy. Thanks for posting this.

  • Great Singer. Never tire of a song by Waylon

    Thanks

  • waylon had a lot of good hits and make it to the top of the line. i love waylons style of singing

  • where can this song be downloaded?

  • what a gr8 song i am a new waylon fan and i have heard all the main songs like amanda and things but i love finding songs like this thanks for posting it was cool

  • I'm assuming you're not a race fan.

  • LOL! I just scrolled down and dag gummit I've been here before!

Well, that goes to show how it is.....

  • No problem. I really got a lot out of reading your comment the first time and just now. I'm just a 21 (about to be 22 in December) year old kid that loves old music, and even though I try to make sure I understand them, it sure is nice to see someone who was there talk about them.

  • Youtube Keywords:

    LOST HIGHWAY by Hank Williams

  • hell ya brother. hank is a God, Lost Hwy by Hank- masterpiece

  • Beside Chaingangs, wandering musicians, train drivers, stage drivers & truck drivers each have a common understanding of this song. Whether they be on the road or not.

As a retired trucker, I thought I'd get it out of my system but it's still there. Like a war vet who remembers in flashbacks, the road is still there. It's a prison that doesn't let go. Sometimes it's heaven, sometimes it's hell, sometimes you don't even know.

  • One of many he did that never got any attention, except for us Waylonites. I played for 25 years, now retired from music at 56. I did this song and no one heard it before, but was requested many times after that. Championed as an "outlaw" but man could he sing.

  • Like Robbie Robertson said in The Last Waltz, "the road is a Goddamn impossible way to live". Yet some of us cannot escape it, we may not like it sometimes, but we still cannot put down roots. Call it wanderlust or doom, or our nature, but there are those of us who are/must be always on the move.

  • The story of my life. way to go Waylon!

  • Mournful song done just right by mighty Waymore !

  • Amen, good sir.

  • im the biggest waylon fan but ive never even heard this song, ive listened to it over and over. great stuff im glad u put this up.

  • that day is already here Twinhit,You have the rich, the working poor man,and the goverment parasites who live well without worry.....

  • This song reminds me of my years on the road as a truck driver. It almost sounds like a threefold tribute to us, the homeless and the prisoner. People who are simply down on their luck and cast aside by society. Some day there will be a lot of cast-aways in US. A lot.

  • Glad you enjoyed/are enjoying it.

  • Thanks for the info, and recording. What's it on? An album? Sure do love him, but like you discovered him too late!

  • What a pretty song! Never heard it before. Where's it from? A movie? Sounds like real early Waylon.

  • It was on Love of the Common People. Probably my second favorite of his after Wild Ones. Wish I'd gotten into him earlier, it was summer of '03 when I did, obviously a year and a half after his death.

  • Thanks for posting this song! Love it!
