  • Hi sarah! Thank you so much for the video!! We're having a company staff party with "Back to the 80's' theme and was looking for a good 80's hairs styly to suit the night! Thanks darling and btw, love ur accent!!!!~..Jersey girl??

  • i have home videos of my cousins in 1989, and their hair looked just like the girl in the back that said hi mom. so funny.

  • @spookygodess that was a boy lol

  • One guy looks like the drummer in Erase Me by Kid Cudi.

  • I totally miss the 80's! I was a teen back then and loved the styles!

  • was the person who said ''hi mom!'' kassem??

  • I could never do this to my hair, it'd probably all break off lmao...but it's cute :3

  • LOVE THE ACCENT!!!!!!! AMAZING

  • Actually, it's close to the real deal. Not sure why some people are griping about the video. I'm thirty-five and grew up in the 1980s. There were LOTS of variations of 'big' hair. This would've fit right in. Like someone else already mentioned, we called it 'teasing', though, and not 'back-combing'. But it's not a big deal. Anyway, I think Sarah did a great job. Besides, she was really just having a good time and not being serious :)

  • CAN SOME GIRL FROM THE 80S SHOW HER HOW TO TEASE HER HAIR THE RIGHT WAY...CAUSE SHES LOST...LOL...I REMEMBER WATCHING MY GIRL BACK IN THE 80S..TEASE HER HAIR...NOT BACK COMB..LOL

  • i'm a dude and teasing will totally ruin your hair and give you split ends. but its worth it cuz it looks totally bitchin!

  • Love the accent lol you're adorable.

  • I don't remember this in the 80's... Are you sure that wasn't from the Ben Stiller movie??

  • Love the accent btw :)

I have short layered hair with straight cut bangs.

    how do I style it_?

  • I didn't know people still talked like this I love it!!!

  • all the boys who saw me were like "WOW" when i walked in the classroom.love the hairstyle.

  • hahahaha "and VIOLA"

  • @teresacday "Teasing" is the slang term that is commonly used--"Back-combing" is the professional term and it also is more literal for those who don't know what "teasing" is. It just helps those less experienced understand the process as well. But this was just a little fun video I made backstage before a show. I never actually meant for it to be a "How-to" video. But thanks for letting me know! Maybe I'll make a new one.

  • @sarahtheteenager Actually you are very spot with your 80's style hair: in "Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round" 1984's video lead vocalist has exact hairstyle..lol :D

  • @sarahtheteenager Hi, great video, what's the name of that track at the very start and end of the video?

  • @TheFatalInstinct1 just researched the song in the background. its Two of Hearts by Stacy Q.

  • @sarahtheteenager

please do on how to get ur pretty curls ~

  • @teresacday yes i agree the one side was to flat and the top didnt look right but it was cute :)

  • @teresacday yeah, youre being way to harsh on her. Alot of people including myself, had the huge bangs, with some flatness in the back. Hell they called my best friend " the wall" because of her hair.

  • @teresacday lmfao dumbass...you thought it was actually called teasing xD!

  • @teresacday It was called back combing before teasing

  • @teresacday Your a dumb cunt

  • the gay guy in the back is like nott amused.... nothin wrong with being gay btw

  • yuckkkkkkkkkkkk

  • ♥_♥..... Her hair, her accent, the music....Oh, the essence of the 80s...

  • @HCEveningWalk yes: fake

  • WOW!, the background music, her Northeastern American accent, and hair, just gives the essence of 80s to this video tutorial :D I love the 80s hairstyles on girls and their upbeat personalities :D

  • I love your hair! What is the name of the song at the end of this video?

  • love it stacey q i have 80s hair mines in a big curly teased mohawk kinda like a purple rain look its hot with a modern twist lol you sound like angela from married to the mob..................

  • i favorite 80's style hair, the side ponytail, it must've been kinda fun to dress like that in the 80's, the 80's seemed fun

  • @lovelydiva06 Some of the 80's style were a no no but I grew up in that era and it really was lots of fun! Great music, lots of fashion experiments. Everyone was developing a style their own. Too fun! I like the hairstyle in this but the video is too noisy. :l

  • i love your hair

  • do i hear 2 of hearts playing in the background :3 also how did shd nake that hair :o

  • Omg, your Jersey accent is AWWWEESSOMMEE. Haha I'm from CA, so all east coast accents are so novel and adorable to me :D

  • hahaha i loved this! xD <3

  • my mom said thats how she did her hair too so this must be accurate depending on were u lived. she grew up in san fransisco.

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!

  • Of course I'm no fashion expert, but that looks like the hair style of an 80s porn star.

  • HAHAHA, this was great! This vid was super cute!

  • That is nOT 80's

  • I don't remember any woman or girl even closely wearing hair like that in Chicago in the 80's. It didn't matter what side of the city you were on, I never saw anything like that.

  • @andreo thats because even till this day people in chicago have no style at all and probally nver had before and never will, chicago has always been slow and retared on everything so i could expect everones hair was flat and bland compared to cali.texas, jersey e.t.c chicago is weak as hell i hatethe chi, fuck chicago and i live here....

  • @spinmark1980 If you say so. I love Chicago (to visit, not to live in, the parking and traffic is horrible). As for the other places you mentioned. I think they're just over compensating for something. In other words, you don't have to flare it up when you know your a bad ass.

    Just saying :)

  • does any one know how to get the Kelly Kapowsky (Saved By The Bell) bangs (cut and style)?

  • ha ha I don't know about how informative this "tidal wave" hair style was but this video is hella funny

  • The girls I went to school with (in the 80s) didn't look like that

    .

They were bangs that came down to the eyes, and then they were given a slight curl using a hot iron. The end

    .

  • If you don't want the big 80's hair, you could always do the high to one side ponytail or clip it up in the back with a banana clip, named so because it's shaped like a banana and gives you like a mohawk style in the back. That was real popular too.

  • Those bangs were right on 80's! AND she used AQUA NET! The one and only!

  • @hairtube Well sort of 80's. It requires a curling iron too. But yes, Aqua Net was so essential for the look. Ah, I remember it well. lol. :)

  • @BOWIEGIRL30 ..By the late 80's teenage girls were wearing their bangs like this and into the 90's. They all had spiral perms with these huge bangs just like in this video.

  • @hairtube I lived in the 80's. I know what they did. However, all the states were different. I'm from Missouri and how I described, was how we did it. Only some had spiral perms. The rest of us just curled our hair.

  • @BOWIEGIRL30...I was there too (in the 80's) a hairdresser in So. California at the time and we did it all!

  • @hairtube Yes, that is to be expected in California. Missouri was and is and will always be different and slower to catch on to those things. I was simply stating that how she did her hair wasn't exactly how everyone did it back then. :)

  • well how would i get the rest of my hairs all 80's i have loads of hair to work with so hopefully it willl work!!!

  • @pieprincess97 Use a curling iron to curl it and then you can tease the other side of the hair that the bangs aren't parted on to create a winged out look. Basically after you curl, just use a pick to pull it out at the side by your ear and spray the hell out of it with hairspray. Let it dry a few seconds and remove the pick and there you go, instant 80's hair. :)

  • awesome! :) im in a play called "footloose" and all the girls have to do our hair like this.

  • ahwww what a cute video. i love it, i really did !! you guys looked like you where having so much fun! i lstill love watching 80's movies and seeing those hairdos' So fun. Thanks for making that video ;)) Smiles!!!

    i will be eternally greatfull

  • @tranquilbluesky how did you then?? :D Please tell us!!! ;D

  • @tranquilbluesky how did you style your hair?? id like to know how to do it :D

  • @tranquilbluesky well tell us how did you do it in the good ole days :)?!

  • i need help -.- i have medium hair but i have no angs but the bangs i do have are so long there apart of my hair soooo do i still do that?

anyway if i had sshorter bangs this would help so much whith the 80's party im going to

  • It should still work. If anything, it'll just be bigger than mine! Just add TONS of hairsprey so that it teases enough not to fall down.

However, it IS easier to do when your bangs are shorter. But I'm sure you can still rock it without having to cut them. Try it a few times and don't be afraid to REALLY tease your hair for volume and strength! :)

    Hope this helps!

  • hey thanks but i was messing with my hair and since my hair is puffy and curly/wavey i was thinking i could just frizz it a little and isling some of it to one side and it looks kinda 80's ish

  • lol. My hair is gone do fine this cuz it's naturally fluffy/curly.

  • lemme guess... theatre kid?

  • correct :)

  • "Back combing" used to be called teasing!

  • haha, best tutorial ever

  • I love the way you talk

  • . lol I loved this, uhm can you give me some help I am trying to go for a nikki sixx style tease.

  • Yes. You're going to want to flat-iron all of your hair first. Then you're going to want to tease only the roots around the crown of your head. (the top circle part of your head) and then with the flat-iron, straighten the tips of the top. Add a little styling wax and you're golden! :)

  • Thanks Doll, I'll try it next weekend :)

  • i love the accent lol

  • haha you are freak awesomeee xD

    great video =P

  • Great video, I'm a guy and have big 80's hair, But 80's glam metal style like C.C. Deville from Poison and wear it proudly everyday ! :p

  • was this for a performance?:D

  • Yeah, "The Wedding Singer: A musical" I played Holly ;)

  • I like the accent. New York, right?
