  • Wayne busts out a TEBOW for the Strat. Original Tebow bizness.

  • It's not a big deal at all. I for one enjoy that she has knowledge and appreciates sweet guitars and knows how to rock.

  • Mustangs are better

  • No stairway? Denied!

  • Triple single coils and a whammy bar....... and how ELSE would they have configured a strat in 1964? And isn't it OLYMPIC white if I'm not mistaken?

  • my strat is probably better...

  • i just received my strat about a week ago and once i took it out of the box and hung it up on my wall hanger, i did the same thing lol

  • what does it mean if its pre cbs?

and also, whats the "buzz" shes talking about on the low e?

  • @dino8192 'pre cbs' means before the cbs network bought fender in i think 1965, its usually associated with better build quality.

string buzz is where the occilating string brushes against the frets and produces a buzzing sound spoiling the tone

  • That was the same guitar that jimi Hendrix played:) at the pop festable in "67:)

  • @dogkiller07 hendrix later preferred the cbs versions too, i wonder why? mustve done something right.

  • it will be mine. oh yes, it will be mine. XD

  • excaliber should be a les paul

  • I wouldn't even breath on it let alone file the frets lol

  • @MrROTD Man not me I would play the shit out of that thing, maybe get a custom paint. Screw that trailer queen'n crap.

  • honestly i would instal EMG 85/81 active humbuckers, and a Flyod Rose

  • AND a whammy bar????

    Amazing

  • Fender guitars make baby Jesus cry.

  • @reijerlincoln in joy

  • This Stratocaster Is not a Fender. This Is a replica made by Toru Nittono by Nittono Guitars.

  • wahamyy bahr

  • I seriously want to hit both the actress and the writer who thought that line was intelligent... How guitarded can you get? Lmfao at my lame pun :p

  • 0:16 - 0:18 Is It Just Me Or Does It Sounds Like She Was Rapping Along With The Bass In the Background??? "With Triple Single Coil Pickups And A Whammy Bar"!!!

  • I love this scene so much because I remember seeing this with a couple of my friends and I was the only one that got what they were saying.

  • lol guy's.... we know!!! ITS ONLY A MOVIE! ;-p

  • I have a real 1964 Strat that I bought in 1979 from Norm's Rare Guitar in Reseda for $650. It already had the Sunburst finish sanded off and was then clear coated. I've had it apart for over 20 years (when Slash came out and I dropped everything for a Les Paul) and now I want to put it back together. So, paint it original or paint it Olympic White? Help me!

  • @1971SuperLead LEAVE IT ALONE! IT'LL JUST KILL YOUR RESALE VALUE!

  • @Lowclef It's already had the original Sunburst sanded off. You think I should just leave it natual with it's 30+ year old clear coat? I think it's ugly and I don't see how restoring it to the original finish could be any worse than it is.

  • @1971SuperLead Hey man these old guitars are what they are and it took a long time to get it the way it is and its erasing its history and essentially the life of the guitar by having it refinished. Just leave it alone.

  • @Lowclef Well, I'll think about it. Thanks for your input. I just don't like naturl. I'm not a country player,(Not that there's anything wrong with country) and it just looks country in natural.

  • Comment removed

  • @1971SuperLead Just put it back together and Let It Be. Guitars with their OG patina(if you want to call it that) sell for way more. Being able to physically see the guitar's history makes it worth more, especially to collectors. If you refinish it, You're not only killing its history, but it's resale value as well. It may be ugly to you, but somebody else with an eye for vintage guitars will look at it like a 10.

  • @SabbraCadabra It's so ugly natural. Now I want to paint it gray. It's still all in pieces. The neck has brand new frets on it I put on it over 10 years ago. Can you say lazy? lol

Well, I agree that to a collector the finish is best left the way it was found back in the 70's. I did call Fender and they said they would put a authentic finish on it for me with a letter of authenticity. Authenticity of what I'm not sure! lol

  • @1971SuperLead One man's trash is another's treasure. If it's a real '64 strat, people will see more in it with it's original finish than they will with a refinish. Though, if you do insist on a refinish you can't go wrong with Fender. They're providing you a certificate of authenticity stating that it was handled by Fender company and it wasn't some backyard job you did yourself. The guitar WILL lose value, but it will look like new when they're done with it. Guess it just boils down to you.

  • @SabbraCadabra Like I said, the original finish was sanded off completely and then the natural wood thinnly clear coated. I guess it was kind of a popular thing to do back in the 70's. So there is no saving the original finish. What does it matter now if I repaint it? A crappy 70's job or a modern repaint can change the value by too much.

  • @1971SuperLead Derrr, yeah. I don't know why I didn't catch that part. If there is no original finish, then yeah. You might as well pay up for a refinish. At least you'll have a brand new looking '64 which actually IS a '64.

  • @SabbraCadabra It has a rosewood neck so......Olympic White? Maybe relic style? Sunburst again? or relic sunburst?

You know, I've owned that guitar almost 32 years......and I'm still not worthy!

  • @1971SuperLead Go with the original finish. You said it was sunburst, yeah?

  • @SabbraCadabra Yes, you can tell by the paint in the pick up area that the guitar was originally sunburst. It's an alder body. 4 bolt neck. The neck is dated Nov 1964. It has a 1964 and a 1965 pick up in it that makes me think it was the last of the pre CBS Strats. It also has an original Seymor Duncan pick up in it in the bridge slot. One of the first Seymours no doubt. A 5 way switch tells me the original was swapped out. It will never be an all original guitar again, but a great "players" axe

  • @1971SuperLead Yeah, sounds like it's been tinkered with quite a bit since before you owned it. Such a shame, but the neck stamp tells it all. You won't be able to have original hardware, but you can still get an original refinish. If you're really interested, you might try tracking down some pickups/pickup switch consistent with your manufacture year, but that boils down to trying to complete a project. I bet if you're willing to put a couple grand into it, you might

  • @1971SuperLead Be able to make a profit in the end. All up to you and what you want, though.

  • @SabbraCadabra It's probable worth more parted out. lol

  • @1971SuperLead Such a shame. :(

  • @SabbraCadabra Yup, making money is usually shameful.

  • @1971SuperLead Making money is great. I was just saying it's a shame that a relic like yours would have to be parted out. They're few and far between these days.

  • waynes world rocks i just watched the seconed one

  • didnt hendrix play a guitar like that?

  • Yeah, he played a Fender Strat.

  • actually it was that guitar but he had to play it upside down because he was left handed =]

  • @ultimatestreersk8r yes, only his didnt have a rosewood fretboard

  • "I'd raise the bridge, file down the nut and take the buzz out of the low E"

two things SO WRONG with this statement.

    1. If she's never played that guitar, how would she know that she needs to do those things. Especially taking the buzz out of the low E.

    2. Why would you even do those things to a Pre CBS strat. It's inhumane!

  • she knew that cuz its hendrixs guitar

  • I also love that she says with 3 single coil pick-ups and a whammy bar? WTF? those things are pretty standard on a strat from anytime, and is it just me or does she say Fender Stratocast? or is that just because she can't speak english?

  • @WhiteMenJumping5 what's more shocking is how she Identifies the thing including what YEAR IT IS....There's No Way to tell by looking at any stratocaster what year it's from, OTHER THAN the Enlarged Headstock Stratocasters, the Enlarged Headstock's were a CBS trademark (From 1968 through the 1970's)

  • In fairness, if she knew the serial number codes by heart, she could ballpark it.

  • Comment removed

  • @cocknose92 it just makes her sound cool

  • @cocknose92 dont get 2 worked up

  • @cocknose92 the second statement is true yes but when they treat the strat with such reverance they're going to have done their homework on it

  • @cocknose92 It aint that big of a deal man its probably had the nut swapped atleast once anyway. You can tell by looking whether or not youd want to raise the bridge cause all thats doin is raising the action. I dig high action. As for the buzzing....its a movie man. And if I had one Id do whatever I want to it man cause it aint ever leavin my side til the day I ride the sky.

  • @cocknose92 Lol, dork.

  • @MegaTronn

Nothing dorkish about loving guitars, he's totally right by the way, I love this movie too but if you know anything about guitars she sounds retarded.

  • @cocknose92 True... She also knew it was a 64 without taking the neck off. Could just as easily be a '63, or a '65 if it has the "transition" logo. She also mentions the "triple single coil pickups & whammy bar" as if these were unique or rare features lol

  • lol I remember when I didn't know anything about guitar and I thought she was talking about a crossing bridge and "fileing down the nut" was slang for beating someone up :p

  • haahah yeah same. well not the beating anyone up. But I thought she was just saying a bunch of big words to sound smart and I watched it YESTERDAY no joke and the last time I watched it was the beginning of summer so I was sort of into guitars but didn't know the parts but near the end of summer I have been crazy into them so I watched it yesterday and I was like OHHHH IT MAKES SENSE NOW!!!! haha :P

  • LOL I know XD

  • haha I think I'm gonna watch it again today:P

  • Nice

  • Sounds like logi ay but what she really says is "i'd raise the bridge, file down the nut and take the buzz out of the low e [string]"

  • What on earth is a logi?

  • see said "take the buzz off the low E" (as in low E string) not logi hahaha

  • lol...ahh it makes sense now, but why would she assume a strat would have a buzz on the E?

  • i dont know, this movie is based on hard rock and heavy metal music, so since the deeper strings are much common in hard rock, maybe it is more prone to buzzing, if thats not the reason then she is just a dumb woman haha

  • hehe he kneels before it!

  • that's jimmy hendrix's guitar...

  • Hendrix's guitar was a lefty and i think he used maple 1 piece necks, this guitar has rosewood fret board

    And it's JIMI, not Jimmy.

  • i mostly saw him with a right hand guitar stringed backward

  • does anyone know the riff that Wayne plays right before he buys the fender strat? (it's not in this clip?

  • Stairway to heaven

  • Yeah, do you mean the can I help you riff he uses to get the store clerks attention, or the riff he does when holding the strat (Which, despite what people say, isn't stairway to heaven due to rights issues on the DVD version)

  • to HardstyleIsMyStyle92:

yeah the riff he does when holding the strat. It sounds so freaking sweet! Do you know it?

  • It involves either an effect that makes it sound like multiple guitars or you need 2 guitars I think. It sounds like a bunch of the riffs from Bill & Ted when they play air guitar. Although Steve Vai did those. But yeah you need more than one guitarist to make the sound of what Wayne does with the whammy but I don't think that's how you get the sound.

  • They started making waynes world strats after the movie, looked exactly like the Excaliber 1964 Stratocaster, with a waynes world neck plate on the back..mine was made in japan 93/94..pretty jokes

  • wow, must be one of the few strats that come with 3 single coil pickups and a whammy bar!

  • Haha

  • @katzenrubbl0r A Fender Stratocaster That Comes With 3 Single Coil Pickups And A Whammy Bar??? That's Unheard Of!!! There Are Not Many Of Those Floating Around!!!

  • @katzenrubbl0r lol no kidding. Hey at least Dana Carvey can wail on the drums!

  • @katzenrubbl0r lol yeah try like 95% of strats do hahahaha

  • @katzenrubbl0r sarcasm?

  • TheShield04 (2 weeks ago) what's the big deal....fenders are manufactured on CNC mills and lathed, then bolted together...these things aren't violins people....their like synthesizers.... "

they are now, they sure wern't in '64

    CNC-CAD/CAM wasn't heard of then.

  • the 57 is better

  • and a whammy bar

  • file down that neck

  • One of my favourite scenes! I wish that axe was mine!! lol
