  • The quotes you here in this movie are all authenticated thru Mormon publications like the Journal of Discourses, which has been toned down. And any errors in the facts of the this movie and the MMM mitigate only in favor of Mormonism. Don't vote for Romney, Mormonism's deep structure today is like yesterday, nothing has changed in Mormonism. Only the facade

  • It is not the differences between the early LDS “Church” and that of today that bothers me. It is what is still in common.

  • I used to be a Mormon, and I will say that a lot has changed in the LDS church since the time of the Mountain Meadow Massacre. For instance, in 2007 they removed the naked touching from the temple endowment ceremony. Also, one of the early profits of the church stated that those who teach Christianity are hirelings of Satan. Now the Mormons would rather pass themselves off as Christians. I guess over all, the LDS “Church” is trying to move away from their Bat-Sh-t-Crazy roots.

  • And to all the people saying this and that about the LDS church: The Mormon church of 1856 and the Mormon church of 2011...NIGHT AND DAY. America of 1856 and America of 2011...NIGHT AND DAY! Comparing this to current LDS teachings and lifestyle is like comparing poop to pee. Yes, both bodily waste. But different hues and different color. So SHUT UP!

  • Dislike. But I do like uncle Rico in this. Hahaha.

  • If you are LDS, and Don't believe that the Mountain Meadows Massacre happened, read your history, it is a true story. The movie might have fictionalized parts, but read the diaries from those who were involved.

  • mormons weren't murderers! so stop trying to make it look like we were!!!!!

  • @upstairshollywood No, Mormons weren’t murderers. They just shot innocent people in the head because of the directions of Brigham Young. I guess you have another word for it…

  • this is so stupid and untrue!

  • @upstairshollywood educate yourself... it did happen, and bringham young was in on it..

  • Religion has caused the murders of many people, all over the world. The Catholic church has killed more people than one can count, and the Church of England. Almost all religions have murdered. Not just the LDS Church. They should make movies about those other churches too. The ones that killed thousands just because they would not join that church, or burned men and women in the hundreds. Or the subject should be left alone all together. Leave it alone or be fair to all faiths and their wrongs.

  • @JordanRebecca120 They've done plenty of those, so dont just think the mormons are being accused for murder so do not live in denial because this did happen.

  • People shouldnt be talking about how bad mormons are, but rather how bad religion is as a whole..

  • Even though I'm not a fan of how the role of Brigham Young was written, I do enjoy Terrence Stamp's performance.

  • "True Story" Wrong. This movie is very 1-sided and gives nowhere near all of the information and is 100% twisted. 1st, Brigham did not instigate it. He sent a message to the saints to not attack. The message didn't arrive until 2 days after the massacre. The reason the saints attacked is because people on the train were involved in BRUTAL murders of other saints in Missouri including the murder of the prophet Joseph Smith.

  • Outrageous. As if mormons arent given enough crap as it is. We are just like other people. You couldve mentioned the mormons freedom of religion was taken from them by America. Wats in the 1st amendment?oh yeah!freedom of religion!

  • @BeastyBdoug That is bull your religion was not takena way .Why does the Mormon Church feel that have a Church on every street corner,Why do they go door to to bother people that do not want be in your cult i call what is . I was brought up Catholic but to listen to a Mormon i going hell and every other Church is going their to .I got news i do not believe the Mormons are not going to be the only in heaven .

  • @kwhit1516 speaking as a neutral party ive been to both mormon and catholic churches in my town which is less than 10 minutes from the massacre.... you sound like an ignorant pig, what would your lord have to say about that?

  • @BeastyBdoug are you retarded? they are a recognized religion and get all the tax breaks and incentives as any other undeserving half baked religion.

  • Another thing is, why is it that Mormons are held accountible for this atrocity, but events such as the battle at Wounded Knee and hundreds of other massacres on other humans that seems to blow over in the wind to one account of a handful of corrupt people in a religion that is persecuted for no good reason. Many murders and disgusting things happen every day but the only time people bring their religion in is if it's a Mormon.

  • What is never mentioned is that it was nine people in a single town, most of whom were converts from other religions, and that Brigham Young himself had sent a letter telling them NOT to attack or even do anything in retaliation even though they were claiming they had taken part in the murder of their prophet. Nine people apparently show the "fact" about a religion. But then a blind eye is turned to the thousands of catholics that murdered, raped, and pillaged other countries for centuries.

  • Part 2. Now the wagon train moved through just like the the previous groups leaving behind an angry people. So some of the Mormons wanted to make a statement that they weren't going to sit around and just let people roll over them. So a group of men rode out the the wagon train. (Before I go further I will make a point that what the Mormons did here was wrong.) So as the travelers settled in for the night the group of Mormons killed them all. Now I hope you understand the whole story.

  • Part 1. This is the true story of what happened. As the Mormons settled in Salk Lake area there were many wagon trains moving through. So the Mormons would give the travelers supplies for the rest of their journey. But there was one particular group who came through who did terrible things to the Mormons. They stole, rapped, burnt down house, and just slagged the Mormons. Now this same group coming through were the same people who destroyed all of the Mormons homes back in Missouri.

  • @topromney89 The "victim" card. If a boy grew up in a home where he was beaten and sodomized, then as a adult went on to sexual victimize and kill 40 women, should we let the man be declared innocent of his crimes? Yes, Mormons were persecuted in Missouri and Illinois (although some Mormon historians admit that several Mormons helped start riots which led to the Missouri Wars). However, this does not mean that Mormons get to cover up their crimes and pretend they never happened.

  • I am a graduate student with degrees in anthropology and philosophy.

The Mountain Meadows Massacre was an actual event, but there is major untruth in the story line of this movie. When Brigham Young heard of the militia's plans to ambush the 120 traveling pioneers, he sent word from Salt Lake back to the militia that they were NOT to pursue any act of violence and to "let them on their way". But the militia didnt listen. The LDS General Authorities had NO part in plotting or planning this attack

  • So true MrPeace2mind, I felt so sorry about those native americans.

  • This story was completely new to me when I saw this film the other day. I was horrified by the brutal killing of those innocent people. The scene where the little children were led to slaughter was as heartbreaking as from any Holocaust movie

  • I saw this film recently. I was horrified by what happened to those poor innocent people. I had never heard of this awful mass murder before. I will never look at the osmonds in the same way again... I thought the mormons were peaceful, loving people. The men in this film were monsters

  • news paper teports, you call that history? The movie is not factual.

  • The Mormons don't have a hospital because four nurses to every male patient isn't cost effective....eat shit fuckers

  • We are accused by Balla as being ignorant about the MMM but this is not unexpected from those who will continuouly ignore facts to paint Mormons in a bad light. Balla has only contributed conjecture just like the movie which clearly is not based on facts but can simply be described as a work of fiction.

  • @llewellleo facts like old newspaper accounts of a real historic event?

  • costumes suck the hats are awful for the time

  • litterily i really dnt no y

  • Can sum1 please please please tell me y 120 men, women, and children were killed please!!!!!! : /

  • tiaragirl329 They were set up because of their wealth and political advantage. A Mr Mclean from Ark' killed PPPratt, a polygamist who, like most Mormons, believed he was above the law. McLeans widow thought she ID'd a couple in the train, so kill them all! Remember in the bible"The sons of god who came down and took..." Mormons! The train did none of the things accused of by Mormons. They had no idea how they had been set up. They were tracked prior to Ark and set up weeks in advance. $

  • @IExposeMormonism Ohhhhhhhhhhhh thank you soo much

  • Anybody questioning the LDS faith (and actually, every member of the LDS faith) needs to read Jon Krakauer's "Under the Banner of Heaven." It saddens me that Mormons believe so blindly, without truly learning the history of their religion. If you can read that (or any historical, factual documents concerning the LDS church) and still believe, I applaud you. But I somehow doubt that would ever happen, cause readin's real hard.

  • im apache indian and mexican so all the land that the mormons were driven from and to..... they shoudlnt have been there anyway.....nothin wrong with being mormon or christian but the fact is this sad story pales in comparison to the things that happened to native americans and the mexicans that were in northern mexico which is now southeast america

  • @ partygoers0121..... catholics rule.LOL!! rule in molesting kids.

@TheJpgallup...mormons were driven out BAREFOOT out in the middle of winter...common. are we really sure they are barefoot?? they would die instantly out in the cold. not unless North Face or Burton is already available on those days.

you guys are so funny!!! really!!

  • catholics rule

    mormons suck

    thats it, ok

oh and if u reply to this comment, i dont give a shit cuz im not replying back, no matter how many fucking paragraphs you write.

    have a nice day :)

  • hhahahahahhahah all you people are confused.... you don't have a clue about the mormon church and its teachings. your mummy and daddy told you they were bad and because you were still sucking from there tit you believed them....hahahahahhahaahah and if there is a catholic's readying this you can go cry to mummy as well because your church is a joke...................this event involved round 100 people you slaughtered millions of Moslems in your holly land. i hope they build a bloody mosk

  • @05reuben you sound like you might be a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. clean up your language and mouth and act like one.

  • I can't believe it! They focus on the one dark spot committed by men defending themselves, and not the hundreds of mormons killed as they were driven from ohio, missouri, and illinois all the way to what at the time was in Mexico. The "harmless settelers" were stealing and harassing the mormons

  • Oh, this film is soo sad :( I just can't see children die! so freakin' awful

  • Why don't they do a movie about the Haun's mill massacre, or how the mormons were driven barefoot out in the middle of winter out of Nauvoo, Illinois, and all the terrible things that were done to the mormons in early church history by people who professed to be Christians? Or maybe the murder of Joseph Smith.. wait there is a movie about that. Mormons who decided to make the wrong choice... That doesn't make the church false sorry.

  • i just felt the holy ghost =)

  • I went to a Morman church, I was freaked out at how brainwashed they were. They all kept saying "this is the true church, this is the true church". But if it's the true church, why do you keep having to reassure that to yourself. Bigtime brainwashing and it's so painfully odvious. But really, many if not most already know the church is fake, they're just in it cuz what they teach about family being strong, and how well organized the church is. Their books of the Bible are a major joke.

  • Brainwashing, corruption, deep dark secrets.

  • I am glad this movie came out...These people need to be remembered...The 65 members of the 10 Regiment of the Nauvoo Legion or the Iron Military District, under the direct orders of Gov Young did willfully excute 37 children that day...These terroists used .44 calibre handguns, .69 calibre muskets and also used bowie knives with 24 inch blades to butcher these kids ranging from an infant to 17 years old...The blood of these Arkansan's cries out "remember me"...

  • Everything in 19th Century Utah was known to Briggy. There was an extensive spy network that included the mail service. You didn't get married w/o Briggy's permission. Briggy knew exactly what was going on. Long before it happened. The bodies were searched. deeply. Thats why Haight searched the bodies and claimed all the women the Mormons (all under the Endowment) ritually murdered were whores..The cattle were branded with the LDS brand:: A Cross.... Clear to everyone? And thats the truth.

  • Evidence suggests that church president Brigham Young was not responsible or even aware of the Mountain Meadows Massacre before it happened. Assuming this is true, and there's no strong evidence to the contrary, one can safely say that responsibility for the massacre rests with local Mormons, not the church itself.

  • Joseph Smith was a satanic Freemason. Crystal gazing 'n all.

  • I just realize that I cannot ever again trust organized religion, where ever it is from. God is within ourselves and we don't need priests, or rabbis, or Jeehad, or Jehoveah's Wittnesses, or Monks, or Mormons, or Orange people, or Jones Town, or Nuns, or Roman Catholics, or the Communism religion, or the Science religion or the religion of shop till you drop, or the religion of who gets the most toys wins, or the religion of .... fill in the blanks yourself

  • This movie doesn't make me hate Mormons, it makes me realize that just about every religion on this earth has some horrific past. It makes me realize that there are ordinary humans that can be convinced to do terrible things in the name of God, when it is only ordinary humans who have taken the power of God to use it for themselves.

  • For some reason, this movie pissed me off. Not the acting itself but the events that took place. I am so glad I didn't live in those times because it seemed like a bunch of brainwashing and complete lunacy went on.

  • When Mormons complain about this movie they show their ignorance. What isn't shown or what is inaccurate in the movie only goes to help the Mormon. The crime is so brutal that if the truth were known they would never obtain another member. We don't see the kidnappings, the slanders against the wagon train, the full extent of the deception performed by JD Lee, many facts are left out but the omissions only help the poor helpless obfuscating defenders of this crime

  • I haven't seen this yet, just got emailed this link in fact. I look forward to seeing it.

  • Haha sorry I recently left Mormonsim after 44 years of brainwashing and the comments here by Mormons is proof of how conditioned and brainwashed they are. Perhaps MMM will do something to help others leave. Cracks me up Mormons arguing fact. They don't know anything about the true events concerning anything but that is because they are taught lies and told not to look further. Its sad but be glad numbers are declining so maybe someday the church will go away or just run its businesses

  • @Balla1965 So glad you left, must have been hard. I know what it is like being born into a fundamentalist religion. The brainwashing is hard to throw off. One of the things that keep you locked in is that they always tell you not to look further. The moment you become educated, their house of cards crumbles. This goes for any organization used to manipulate people, including governments.

  • @Balla1965 maybe you left the church because its easy for you to bash against a religion that everyone is targeting...we are targeted because its true...and despite if you were a mormon or not...we will continue to grow...and soon...you will know that the church u once believed in...was and is true...GOD BLESS

  • @Balla1965

So glad that you got out. It isn't an easy thing to do.

  • Religion..

  • haha Trent Ford uses the jedi mind trick in this movie like he did in 'How to deal" hahah

  • desertwanderer, get your facts straight! Joseph Smith died in a gun battle! He had 2 guns with him and he shot 3 people, killing 2! They went to Carthage jail to turn themselves in for destroying a printing press that was going to expose the FACT that he was practicing polygamy! He was in jail for a felony!

  • chevelle get ur facts right he was placed in the jail as a form of protection they destruction of the printing press happened before carthage why do u not read on your facts joseph smith was never convicted of any crime

  • Those are the kind of things mormons don't like to hear, be careful XD but I think you're quite right. Mormons always try to show joseph smith as a victim and that wasn't true.

  • Sixtoes59 YOUR WRONG we dont hate gays we just don't support it we god loves everyone of us if your gay and what ever but it wasn't part of his plan for men to come marry men his plan was to send man and a women so they would be together and prosper.

This is his plan for us all. But this movie is Doesn't tell the whole story There was a Extermination Order against mormons Like 'deserwanderer' said but yeah ...You have a lot more to learn

  • The truth is the truth. This is not the only thing against people they have done, their have been many events in history. The Morman are against gay people.Who is Next?

  • also you people think mormon's don't believe in god or jesus you need to know it is a choice to live your religon. i will alway's have the love of my church and the pride to defend it's history and iam sorry too many wars and killing's in the name of god ,jesus, mohamed,to mention have gone on., we must learn to not divide our selves we are all american's nothing more nothing less Thomas Jefferson said, that we must constantly reflect on the past so that we don't repeat our mistakes.

  • the truth is the truth,it happened and all of the Mormans should own up to it.This is not the only thing that is happened in history with the Morman church, their have been many things that have happened, like right now in 2009 they are againts the gay people.Who is next?

  • i don't hear any one talking about haun's mill . which happened before the mormons left and went to utah . what about the extermanation order against mormons that caused them to flee into the snowy nights that killed many more women and children and sent them searching for a place were they could practice their religon what about the fact that their prophet joseph smith had been murdered at carthage jail in justice runs rampant in a country that offers freedom to only a select few

  • Mormons, Muslims, what's the difference! Same thing, hahahahahahahah

  • Jon Voight sucks! I give much respect to Angelina Jolie.

  • Comment removed

  • dean cain>???the gay superman???lol they got him playing the prophet??? silly people...this movies rubbish

  • this is terrible it is just a attempt for evangelicals to knock the Mormons.

if a person says to me that something is historically accurate i expect it to be that, unlike this film which the only accurate thing was the people and there was a mountain meadows massacrer. apart from this it was lacking in historical information and was two sided at all

  • @thuggie1 two thumbs up! they cant do that to mormons, theyre just trying to knock them out but they cant do it, to sad. It is the True Church here on Earth. I know it is true

  • @jmheiyah :

NO IT IS NOT THE TRUE CHURCH.

ANY CHURCH THAT HURTS PEOPLE IN ANY WAY; IS NOT OF GOD.

ANY CHURCH THAT DOES NOT UPHOLD THE WORD OF GOD; IS NOT OF GOD.

TIME WILL SURELY TELL; THERE IS A DAY OF RECKONING:JUDGEMENT DAY.

  • por que no hacen una pelicula de las persecusiones y masacres que sufrieron los mormones? en realidad serian decenas de peliculas...120 muertos no seria ni el diezmo de los muertos mormones...

  • The story is true. Their is a book that shows accurate pictures and accounts of the MMM incident. It did happen. It is real! What else can one expect from "Good Christians" but MURDER!!!! The bible says do not kill, but hypocritical Christians kill every one who does not submit! White people are going to reap what they sew!! It is coming, right around the corner.

  • They Want Money Before They Dead !!

    O

    O

The Actors All Like My Grandma Ages ??

    O

    O

    The Movie 2007 And it's Still Alive ?!! ☺

  • This movie is a JOKE!!! EVIL hollywood couldn't even MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT!!! HAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

  • haha it wasnt evil hollywood, it was made by right wing evangelical christians (jon voight, the darling of the right and sean hannity). I was watching fox and they were trying to paint it as if it was the "liberal" hollywood that did this. It was their own crazies LOL..they dont like admitting that evangelical christians dislike mormons and are bigoted towards them.

  • still looks like a bunch of liberal actors on it right? screw voight and hannity too. The fact is the attempt was made and failed horribly

  • lol it doesnt matter what it "looks" like, it was directed be a EXTREMELY conservative evangelical christian and most of the actors are republicans and conservative. Its kind of like the "Taboo" subject among fox news. They don't like to point out the hatred and bigotry that evangelical republican christians have towards mormons, viewing them as a heretic cult.

  • I've not seen this movie yet bro, but i'd be careful of who you accuse of what . Do a little google search on Sean Hannity. He's extremely pro mormon.

  • What does that have to do with anything? lol. The point was that this was "good ole hollywood liberals" again attacking mormons. I was pointing out this had NOTHING to do with hollywood liberals but was evangelical christians behind this movie. I mentioned Jon Voight's relationship to Sean Hannity, voight is EXTREMELY conservative and a republican so is christopher Cain, but they represent a right wing conservative evangelical base that hates mormons, you cant deny that, nothing to do with libs

  • If Voight hates mormons so much then why does he have the relationship that you are talking about with someone like Hannity who is outspokenly pro mormon?

  • thats a RIDICULOUS argument. People can be friends with others who COMPLETELY disagree with them. Hell James Carville an ultra liberal is married to mary madlyn, an ultra conservative. But that's beside the point. The initial poster said this was "typical hollywood" being anti mormon. Is imply pointed out thats ridiuclous since the actors and directors of this movie are ALL right wing evangelical christians. If you dont think September Dawn is anti mormon then so be it.

  • Thats true. They can be friends with people that they disagree with. However, it is quite rare for a person to be friends with an individual who is a huge supporter of a group that they "hate". Like I said before, I have not seen this movie yet so I can't say yet if I think it is anti mormon. What I do know is that almost any historical movie that portrays a violent event could be said to be "anti" somebody.

  • The Patriot or Braveheart could be considered to be anti English. That does not mean that Mel Gibson hates English people. The Last Samurai could be interpreted to be anti American. That does not mean that Tom Cruise hates Americans.

  • you're missing my point, again the original poster said this was "liberal hollywood" attacking mormons, i simply pointed out htis movie was made by christian evangelical republican conservtatives. That's the extent of what i'm saying, whatever else you want to extrapolate from that, is up to each person. But my only point I wanted to establish was who made the film, whether you think its anti mormon or not is up to the individual viewer. But it has NOTHING to do with "liberal hollywood" lol

  • I am mormon and if you look at other videos it pretty much says we don't know if this really happend but others say that this story of the massacre is true.

would it be a more popular historical event if it was true?

anyways im not pure mormon im just forced to be mormon by my parents....

  • and i bet your parents still dress you too spoiled brat! hahahaha

  • I don't believe the intention here is to blame Mormons for this untold event - I think the intention is to simply educate people on the untold classic...

The same could be said for the film - Titanic... That it was a film blaming the captain and his staff for the sinking - yet because of the romantic element it was one of the top rated films of its time.

I think it was a great film with fantastic acting ability - it is just a movie after all...

  • It's a shame that movie were flopped. Pulled out of cinema in 2 WEEKS after it's release. Never been released in the UK, because the marketing was poor, and the facts were wrong. Even Anti-Mormon experts know it. Never mind eh? Thank you for helping the LDS to obtain more converts.

  • Doesn't every religion have their own share of murders?

  • @JugglerBean

No not all do kill in the name of their God. The Zoroastrians were victims who did not practice an eye for an eye.

  • It's funny how the people in this clip all said that this was a classic tale that had to be told, that it was important, and that it was going to be a classic. If it was so good why did they pull the movie off the theaters after 2 weeks? If its so good how come Roger Ebert gave it 0 stars? If its so good how come it has been branded by critics as an attack on Mormonism? Do you really want to blame an entire religion today for an event that happened 150 years ago?

  • Mormonism is nuts.

  • Stupid fucking mormons

  • yay! religiion! because it also does good we should forgive the imprisonment of minds? Do good without religion so it will go away!

  • I take some of that back from what I said bout the Mormans, infact I want 2 -c If Im allowed many different wives. Now THATS PIMPING, "PIMP$ UP-HO$-DOWN.

  • Biggest domestic terrorism the US have ever seen?

What about the murder of native americans? They were a nation of 60 million when the white man came ... now they count only 800.000!!!!!!

  • @MrPeace2mind that truly is tragic. i didn't realize the numbers were so low

  • @MrPeace2mind I know right. This film is so aggressively stupid that it baffles me.

  • @MrPeace2mind :

IT TAKES GOOD AND SMART PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO BRING US BACK TO REALITY AND TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT...AGAIN. THANKS. GOD BLESS

  • @MrPeace2mind i know, it seems like everyone living here in america dont even know that it happened, like we just popped out of thin air, and here we are. i think alot of people forget about the american indians becuase its shameful and its not a pleasant thing to think about, even today. just imagine if the white man never came or stupidass andrew jackson didnt make all the indians move from their land. america today would be so different. i probably wouldnt even be here, but i am, so....

  • @MrPeace2mind

you would be amazed at how many people would be offended by that statement.

they would justify it by saying people have been killing and taking land for 6000 years.

    I say, murder is murder.

  • @spydat3k

What do you find offensive in my statement? It is the truth.

  • @MrPeace2mind

no my man, I am not offended, I was saying that some people would be offended, and what you said is the truth.

  • @MrPeace2mind 800,000 too many XD

  • Brigham Young: Original Gangsta!

  • pourquoi ? comme l'as dis yeshoua : c'est a leurs fruits (actes) que vous reconnaitrez mes vrais disciples.

  • I want to see this movie. But I think the interviews are tryig too hard to make John Lee to look like he was relucant to the whole thing, but I've read from very reliable sources that he was the prime factor to the violence. "Massacre at Mountain Meadows" the book, is the best book on this event. Everyone should read it. It satifies both the mormon and non mormon perspective.

  • DANG!! there is so many HATERS with opinions about Mormons. WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH? GET ON WITH YOUR LIVES AND STOP YA (pre-historic) BITCHING!!!! Bet you haters are WHITE!!Here's a topic worth talking bout. WHY DO WHITE PEOPLE ALWAYS CAUSE TROUBLE?? Bring It!!

  • White people always cause trouble because they are sons of BITCHES!!

  • yeah white people are terrible. africans are perfect, asians have never done anything bad and jesus loves you.

  • This video has actually brought more people into the true church of God. See us LDS are record keeping people. We are commanded by God to keep detailed records. If you want the truth its there because we kept it. Once you find it for yourself it kind of hard not to become mormon.

  • U-know ppl would say this not true, there is no-proof of the "Mormons" killing anybody. Ok, I c what ur saying, ur Mormons and ur offended in every way, but when u think bout it. Can u explain why in Cardston Alberta there's a temple there. I know this stupid, but when the Blood Tribe People (Natives to the home were the temple sits in Carston Alberta today), back in the early 1800s the Mormons were freezing 2 to death/staving, and the Native people felt sorry 4-u-people, and made an agreement

  • U can stay until u people (Mormons) get back up on ur feet. Then the Natives started 2 notice the Mormons building buildings, churchs.U.... mormons took without asking. we Native people help u survive, help ur children, fed u. the u have the gull to look down on us Natives when we go into ur stores, even ur churchs, who u asked us Natives 2 join. god will

  • There's more evidence of Brighum Young telling them not to kill anyone. This movie was made to make Mit Romney look bad

  • this is great for morom church,.. more you bash on religion more peopel see it is a lie and more teh church grows. that what happnes with islam in us.

  • Fact people where killed.

    Fact mormons where responsible.

  • PPl make such a big deal about this.. but what about the catholic church going on crusades? The catholics killed and tortured ppl whow ouldn't convert... but no one ever makes a big deal out of that..

  • We read about the catholic persicutions every day in our schools we learn about the crusades and the inquisitions. I never learned about M.M. in school, or have ever known anybody that learned about this in school. The fact is that most people know about the catholic persicutions but very few people know about Mountain Medows.

  • I think that the makers of this movie need to check the facts beause they are wrong on so many of them.

  • the movie is inaccurate but only to the favor of Mormonism. The motive in the movie is wrong. But the true motive is worse. B. Young did believe he was the voice of god. the quotes are accurate.

  • This story is BASED on true events. Yes, people were killed. NO, Brigham Young did NOT believe he was God. And NO, he did not tell other Mormons to kill innocent people. There is no proof.

And just like every other Hollywood 'historical' film this movie is completely dramatized, making things look more outrageous then they were. I'm a history major I know. Get the facts before you start watching anti-Mormon Hollywood films.

  • mormons are dangerously wacky. they need to be outlawed.

  • Hahahahahha...

    Cowdragon you Dumb Shit !

  • religion is the number one cause of almost all wars, keep in mind i said ALMOST all but that should tell you how useful religion is. Hitler, Crusades mostly religion based and some of the worst wars the world has seen, should be obvious this movie also proves this

  • its not god or jesus who lets these things happen to people, its the choices of people...something people like YOU need to understand!!!your argument is weak and pointless....god bless, you need it!!!

  • cowdragon...you need jesus in your life, you poor soul...lol

  • no, I don't need jesus. It's not bad enough that he is fictional... yet some fictitious characters are great role models. Yet jesus is evil. He tells us to worship the god of the bible. The same god who kills babies. The same god who claims to be loving and all powerful, and yet allows children to be molested. No, I do NOT need that fucker in my life.

  • on top of that, with the mormons history of racism I wouldn't put it past them to have actually been PRO-Slavery and just managed to change a few details to make themselves look better.

  • As of 1850, the Utah Territories were the only such that practiced slavery. I don't know how common it was, but it was legal.

  • WOAH! I didn't know that moparmonster... great info. I just started looking for that and found a little on the topic. Looks like the mormon leadership has been trying like hell to hide that info as well.

Thanks for the heads up! :)

  • You bet. The major problem is that when non-Mormons talk to Mormons, there's a hell of a lot of miscommunication without the non-Mormon (they call us "Gentiles") even knowing it. The reason is because Mormons take standard Christian terminology and pour a completely different meaning into said words, thus confusing those not in the know.

  • i totally agree

  • well Rebel, I see your willingness to lie and overlook other little "details" completely fits with the mormon doctrine.

The mormons were stealing money, organizing armies, taking children, and the list of atrocities goes on. Jo smith was illegally printing money and had even ordered the burning of opponents printing presses. I guess those qualify as "nothing" to you then?

  • cowdragon, you're not looking at this chronologically. Mormons broke NO laws from the time they settled into Jackson County to the time they were driven out. Did the Missourians have a just reason to force them out of their homes when they broke NONE of their laws? Do you even have the slightest ability to comprehend words? No army was even organized at that time, only AFTER they were driven out of Jackson County was an army organized.

  • no, I am looking at it just fine. YOU are skipping several very important FACTS about the situation. Other groups had no issues like the mormons did and other groups were opposed to slavery as well. There were small skirmishes/fights here and there and that's where it ended. mormons on the other hand were breaking MANY laws, and not just making a nuisance of themselves, but proving to be extremely dangerous to the citizens of the USA.

  • cowdragon, how are you completely oblivious to how you're basing your so-called "important FACTS" on extreme religious propaganda? You took September Dawn seriously? cowdragon, this movie is obvious propaganda to people who are semi-literate. It's akin to Triumph of the Will in terms of hamfisted religious condemnation. You're never going to be taken seriously by me because what you're saying is based on stretched truths from hate-filled people.

  • no! I tire of your lies Rebel2010. You support a cult that has such hate mongers as brigham young and jo smith as founders. The same men who wrote words like "white and delightsome" or the monster spencer kimball who told poor South Americans to donate their gold fillings to pay for a temple. You promote lies and call any who disagree illiterate and liars. I hate the intolerance of the mormon cult and I hate you for perpetuating it. Now go lie somewhere else. The facts are in this movie.

  • cowdragon, a commonly used technique to make propaganda appeal is called "CARD STACKING," where only facts or ideas supporting an idea are used to push an agenda (just like political commercials). For example, September Dawn has direct quotes from the Mormons. Whoop-de-doo. If you pick and choose certain words someone has said, you can demonize just about anyone. You could even make Martin Luther King look like Satan himself if you only select quotes that propel your agenda.

  • oh, you mean like how the mormon propaganda machine only uses information (real or fictional) that makes themselves look good? Yes! I think exactly like that! Oh yeah, and how it demonises ex members by calling them apostate and ignoring their own personal research as to why they quit your cult, instead choosing to commit character assassination. Weird how it bothers you when we are perceived by you to be doing it, yet you can ignore it when you agree with it...

  • First of all, you haven't been Mormon a day in your life. You don't know how we talk about ex-members. And in my school, we talk openly about all things pertaining to the history of Mormonism, good and bad. (Slavery in the Utah Territories AND Mountain Meadows are hot topics). We're not hiding anything from ourselves really. We're just not going to let a bunch of bigoted people tell us what our own history is, and what WE believe in. Because from what I've read, you barely have a clue.

  • WOW! You fail again. I was born into the cult you fucktard. I was forced to believe the shit you call truth. Luckily for me, I was able to use the brain I was born with and discern the REAL truth. I found the racism and sexism to be repugnant. I found the worship of a baby killing deity to be pretty disgusting. I found the child molester jo smith to make my stomach turn. So go on believing in your fairy tales, but don't you DARE get offended when others like me expose you for what you are.

  • cowdragon, that's not called using your brain. I don't what to call it, but it's not using your brain. What are you exposing me as? A child molestor? A baby-killer? I'm neither of those things. And I don't have the right to be offended when you give me wild accusations based on no fact? cowdragon, you're thinking based on the emotional turmoil you went through as a child, not your head. The real truth lies somewhere between both the spiritual romanticism and the hamfisted criticism.

  • actually the real truth is well documented. But you choose to believe fictionalized and polished "recounts" of the events. Like jo smith's so-called "first vision" that took him what, three, four tries to get it to the point the church was willing to start teaching it in sunday school? I am not saying you are baby killer. I am saying you worship one which is still messed up. You are not a molester, but you follow the teachings of one. The lines may start to blur a bit after that...

  • man where do you get youre info from yea mormons kill babies and allow a person who you think is a child molester to lead a religion and have many people till this day join dude you are so dumb

  • I get it from all kinds of sources. I was raised mormon for one. Secondly, I READ! I research. I look into more sources than what is spoon-fed to me by the mormon leadership... who if you read your own cults history, would see how evil and ridiculous it really is.

  • Its all good that movie sucked anyway got the worst ratings i have ever seen. Futile attempt to bring down a relgion that only seeks to help people... People should just stop hating, live your life fools. That movie was a joke i couldnt stop laughing at how incorrect it was, some winning performnaces there.(cough)

  • This had all the potential to be a great movie, and it blew it. Let's not argue whether or not it's biased/untrue/true/unbiased...let's just all agree it had the worst acting ever.

  • Dr. Hugh Nibley commenting on our research (Nov 7, 2003), "...After this, those who challenge the Book of Mormon will have some heavy explaining to do."

Cowdragon give your lies a rest.

  • No. The movie makes that argument. But it also neglects to focus on the persecution the Mormons endured before the Mountain Meadows Massacre. This movie endorses the idea that Mormons committed the massacre because they wanted to purify the world, which is ludicrous. Critics seem to agree too. Look at the rating for this movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • the "persecution" was due to joseph smith illegally printing his own money, stealing peoples fortunes and children (namely their teenage daughters, etc...) Get it right before you spout off.

The gov't didn't automatically hate the mormons. It tolerated them as long as it could before too many violations of the law and common decency forced it to move against them.

  • The government had common decency? Ordering an extermination order that would result in the brutal rapes and deaths of women and the slaughter of children? That's what Lilburn Boggs did, and that is hot-blooded murder just like the Mountain Meadows massacre. Why the double standard, cowdragon?

So, what you're saying is that murder is justified if organized by a government against a group of religious people? For someone so opposed to intolerance you seem to be a hateful, bigoted person.

  • no double standard, but thank you for suggesting it. That proves more of my point that mormons will lie to protect themselves and their faith.

The government was facing off against child molesters, theives, counterfeiters, and murderers (remember the Danites) and since the mormons are a cult they were fanatically loyal. The gov't tried to put up with them but it became impossible. So they orderd the mormons run out and exterminated (as they should have). The mormons just hated Missourrians.
