  • I live the "I" on Igor's chest, cool!

  • funny :D

  • Let's get stoned, man!

  • Mama told 4 people to come...

  • Billy Van was a genius! This was how I started my Saturday mornings as a kid @ 6 a.m.. This show was, and still is, awesome.

  • This was the same production company that produced the original, (and IMO the BEST years,) SCTV. Whatever happened to Billy Van?

  • @WatchVenusSpa He died since 2003 sadly. I love this show lots, I used to watch it where I live which is Calgary.

  • What do you mean "Canadian version" ?

This show IS Canadian. There are no other versions.

  • they don't make shows like this anymore

  • lol i grew up with this show, mmmm no wonder im a fuck up!

  • I love how the wolfman becomes a part of the music in the psychodelic background.

The best is when Igor appears to dance.

    Ah memeories!

  • Brings back so many good memories of this early 70's cult spoof horror kid's program - full of charm, warmth and originality - Billy Van was just perfect for this show - a real showcase for his talent for playing all those unforgettable characters .... we loved him for the numerous corny ad libs and mistakes, too.

  • Billy Van was a genius

  • yeah,... and my teacher said i was too imaginative? well i watched this every morning!

  • Wolfman rocks!

  • this was my favorite segement of the show!

  • I wasn't born when this show was out... but they had it showing over & over of course. I remember watching this... this has to be my absolute favorite show as a kid (besides Price is Right lol) Thanks for posting it =) These episodes take me back lol

  • The show was a Canadian production originally airing in the 70's (early to mid) on Saturday mornings. I used to watch it with my little brothers. They were 7 & 8 and I was 17 and enjoyed just as much as they did. We especially liked Grizelda, the Librarian and of course, Wolfman. I always got a kick out of he and Igor's dance moves. Great fun...

  • @paleblue498 I love this show! I always liked the "GRAMMAR SLAMMER" I'm 43 now, so must be the same age as your brother's..What ever happend to good tv programming? 1 Adam 12, Emergency, Land of the Lost, Hogan's Hero's, Love American Style, Happy Day's, space 1999, Fantastic Journey, Operation Peticoat?? and many more....Now day's we get tortured with pathetic shows such as "south Park" Although Cornor Gas, CSI, are kewl..

  • I'de have nightmares seeing this as a kid.

  • Me too! Not because of the Wolfman though...of the Gorilla who couldn't avoid the golf ball....I dreamed of that thing for a very long time as a kid.

  • This show was early 70's man, not 80's!!!

  • You can get the same trippy effect if you point your webcam close to your monitor. Thats how they did it back then, pointed a TV camera at the monitor.

  • video feedback (camera pointed at monitor) plus two chroma key switches set up back to back.

pretty high tech for the early '70s.

  • again, Oh to work in a TV station during the 80's...

I heard rumor that the Wolfman was played by Dave Thomas of SCTV fame, any truth?

  • No. Billy Van, the same guy who played the count and most others.

  • @cowtippingrocks

Billy Van in my book was a comic genius, for being able to play Count Frightenstein, Grizelda, The Librarian, The Oracle, Buona Clyde, Dr. Pet Vet and the Wolf Man...R.I.P. to a great man.

  • @adamdicy You got that right! Its amazing how someone so talented could go without getting the proper recognition he deserves!

  • How come they can't make TV like this nowadays ? WTF....

  • it's so sad.....that new heins ketchup commercial is cool though.

  • @wxyzca2000 "How come they can't make TV like this nowadays ?"

    Too intelligent.

  • I remember the Wolfman episodes with Knock Three Times & Sweet Cherry Wine ... but that's it.

  • luv it-luv it-luv it

  • Trippy....

  • What an amazingly talented man. I miss Billy Van so much. He was brilliant.

Was there anything this man couldn't do?

I agree with devious2079, he should have been a HUGE star with his own sitcom/talkshow etc.

  • i still have yet to figure out why Billy Van didn't become a huge star in the states, he had so much talent and excellent comedic timing... RIP to a Canadian legend... Keep on howlin' Wolfman!!

  • best show ever. thank you so much for posting this!

  • He IS the wolf man...

  • Wolfman Jack would be sooo proud ;) A nice little tribute to the man himself. I remember this show quite fondly. memories of Waaay better days.

  • "Mama Told Me Not To Come" was the first #1 song on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 radio countdown show on July 4th. weekend in 1970.

  • I always liked the Wolfman's songs, and the psychedelic (sp.?) lights in the background. I don't know how Billy Van did it, but it was a great show. I used to rush home after high school to watch it back in 1971.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I always trash on current television. I think i'll wise up.

  • Love when the midget count walks in!, simply hilarious!

  • Yeah, also when he would appear in the phone booth and tells Count Frightenstein that it's for him R.I.P, the little guy ????-1974

  • I was 8 years old watching, very trippy and beyond cool. So many years ago....

  • Great song.(srsly)

  • Too bad they had to cut out these segments, they were so trippy.

They still include everything up until the song is supposed to start...what's the point. They might as well leave out the entire segment.

  • BILLY VAN was the man name,,,he was a god in Canada ,,,fuck you if you dont wont to understand or know who he was

  • Oh, Billy Van was the man, yes he was he worked with the best...and the Grizelda the Ghastly Gourmet was my favorite. Billy Van worked with John Byner and Bob Einstein(Super Dave Osbourne)on the show Bizarre from 1979-1986

  • Classic improvised TV at its best! The Wolfman always brought us kids real music instead of the 'kiddie' music of the 70s.

  • this segment is classic, and thanks for not allowing it to be embedded cause that just makes me download it, type keepvid in google, save the url, then right click save link as "whatever you want to name it".flv extension save has to be .flv at some point

  • Having just checked out the crap you've put up on youtube it's not hardx to imagine you spending a lot of time downloading little .flv files. Enjoy.

  • Thanks for putting this up. I grew up in Hamilton and my parents only had a tv with 12 stations. Only got channel 13, 11, 9, 5, 6 from Canada and channel 2, 4, 7 from the US.

I loved watching TV in the mornings and this was my favorite.

I remember the old TV news reporters on CHCH the bald guy with the horn rimmed glasses and the grey haired guy. CHCH was great. Nowadays these kind of shows never make it to the air..this was when TV was daring. Thanks again!!

  • Amazing how they were able to get a song about a pot party onto a children's TV show. :>

  • Only in Canada eh!!, may'be it's these things that stop it from airing now, in our highly Right-Wing country now

  • this song is the cool I love it

  • These really need to be restored to the shows on Space, heard they're working on it.

  • I wish they'd show these segments on the re-runs on space and drive-in. Seriously, one of the best parts of the show

  • ya, Too bad copywrights make it impossible!

  • hey papa joe, right on
