  • I signd into say- thats alot to take in at one time

  • 219 likes and not a single dislike as of 25 Dec 2011....very rare...that says it all.....

  • So how come no levitation ?

  • If we are all one and then why the elitist mentality? Sounds hypocritical but Im sure they have their reasons. BTW, why are the links to this video have naked women? Distraction perhaps?

  • fala pra esse yoge botar um aparelho nessa boca pra consertar esses dentes ae, po! =/

  • @guiober rs consertar os dentes pra parecer mais bonito?

  • @aletaka rs... é apenas uma zoação. :) queria ver a cara dos new agers e os materialistas espirituais quando verem esses exercicios de cair no chão sentado. :P

  • @aletaka kkkkkkk!!!!

  • I'm currently about 12% liberated.

  • I wonder whether it was really Milarepa's dorje. Because if it was, it must be great blessing even to see it on video like here.

  • Monks aren't married or have children do they?

  • In the wood on Singha Mountain, I, Milarepa, meditate on Voidness, Not because I fear to lose my understanding -- Constant meditation is the yogi's way.

Without distraction, the yogi meditates absorbed Upon the pure Mandala of Dharmadhatu, Not because he fears to go astray -- But to hold to Self-quintessence is the yogi's way. When he works on the Nadis, Prana, and Bindu,

He avoids hindrances and errors, Not that the teaching has faults in itself --

But it is a good way to improve Realization

  • I think anybody can do it if you let go of all ties to the world of people, opposite sex, family and everything else. that's a big price?

  • "they are free from any traces of the past conscious or subconscious" and at the same time those two people are seen kissing a artifact from the past. what is up with that contradiction?

  • maybe it has to do with their minds more than time as a phenomena. Besides the dorje is symoblic and to have been used by Jetsun Milarepa himself is incredible, a lot of blessings, kind of like a river but not a physical thing like water but more mental which is not physical or restricted.

  • @ barud1: we might as well ask ourselves how the commentary and the footage came together: is the author of the pictures as well the author of the commentary? maybe his comments are merely projections of a western mind onto something he would like to be the way he describes it...?

And of course: your observation about the contradiction: they act within a given belief-system and may have attained a very high state of consciousness within that given system (cf. the wilber-combs lettuce).

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW where and how we can get full/complete footage of this video please

    thank you

  • You should be able to download the full video around the net. Try torrents, and eMule. Also you can buy the DVD in some french site I heard, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe eBay too.

  • [haiku dedicated to my brother, Randall]:

    Breathing with the dawn,

    moving stillness through the day.

    Sitting till awake...

  • Milarepa Masters - Om Sri Yogi Mila Om Ah Hum

you are too kind in this dharma Light, brother,

blessed energies to all who see this movie now

  • I am filled with joy, Like the joy of a hot-looded man encountering a bejeweled woman of majestic beauty in a solitary place. Although he honors the precepts of chastity, In the face of her radiance he cannot even wish to move a single step away from her.

  • When, like an enchanting beauty adorned with jewels of compassion, The story of the Master's liberation reached the ears of this fortunate seeker, I was filled with joy. Now i share the feast of this wonderful and glorious story to bring joy and laughter to all. ~ Lobsang P. Lhalungpa, author, The Life of Milarepa

  • Dharma Light to you! amazing video and i cannot thank you enough for posting this, i will go to thank you with an email and see if you will link to me on your friends list, this is a very special video i sent to a spiritual friend of mine just now- as i said to my friend, i resonate and vibrate so strongly to these particular masters, it is a holy thing for any of us to see- this is rare footage- of Tibetan lamas i have met, these things are rare. (arepa [ishkiah] tatanitak karma ngawang donden)

  • Do you think they were actually arahants? Fully awakened?

  • Those two are, yes, no doubt.

As for the faces in part3, only a few of them.

  • I can only go by what I've heard, but one answer I've been told is along the lines of: Tantra is kept secret because if all the practices were out in the open then they would be approached as nothing more than just another practice. All importance would be lost and they would be approached as something mundane and probably fruitless. Approached as such (also without an initiation) it can't do much good, and can be potentially harmful.

    Double check this.

  • This wasnt a negative comment for those of you who dug it down. The real meaining is that Tantra was first given to Bodhisattvats, tantra is grounded in bodhicitta and should not be approached as a 'fun' thing to do for a while and quit later on. You should atleast know the essentials of dharma before taing an intitation. otherwise it can cause great suffering to yourself. there are stories about this in the buddhas tantric teachings. The main thing is motivation

  • @hearer87 exactly!

  • @hearer87 I always heard tantra as "being able to create great harm" why is that what happens?

  • @treyjohn18 Very simplified: in tantra you train to create yourself as a specific or several deities in order to really become the deity (after the death of your ego). You bring the result into your spiritual path so to speak. Now, for this you first need a pure motivation to liberate yourself and all beings permanently from suffering (Bodhichitta). Without this motivation you run a great risk to boost your ego and suffer in the future which is the contrary of what you want. I hope this helps

  • hearer87 Your comment is accurate. Your insight is helpful. Thank you.

  • And also, the Buddha might not have kept teachings secret per se, but he was selective to which minds he gave particular teachings to. Some teachings wouldn't benefit certain mental dispositions.

You wouldn't hear the Dalai Lama telling a Christian there is no God. That would do more harm than good. Yet the Dalai Lama still teaches the logic of there being no creator god, just not to Christians, but to those who are ready for it.

You can relate this back to tantra.

  • Hey Polarized, I agree. I think I have a long way to go before I understand the contradictions in Mahayana and Theravada. I know Mahayana means well. Yes, the Buddha did talk to people from their situation, but always said that the Darhma is never to be kept secret. Mahayana, while professing the "Greater" vehicle, lessens it with secrecy and mesogeny. But yes, these guys, like Dilgo, were enlightened. I'm still amazed and still appreciative!! But so many contradictions from the Pali text!

  • At the same time though, Kirk, you have to think that the Buddha DID tell us "If something doesn't make sense to you, even if its a teaching from me (me = Buddha), then discard it." To me, this means that the Buddha knew that our understanding of his teachings, and of the world around us, would grow & change with time.

So far as I know, the Buddha never said "Never deviate from my teachings, never add anything."

  • its worth asking yourself, why at the first turning of the wheel did the Buddha teach Vibashika tennets (ie four noble truths?), at the second turning Middle way (perfection of wisdom sutras) and final Cittimatrin at the third turining, even though Middle way is the final realisation of emptiness? Buddha prophesied Nagarjuna (propundent of middle way) who was to come 400yrs later, and he did. Also Asanga was the main proponent of Cittimatrin whilst being a Middle way practioner.

  • Well, from what I've studied and heard from my guru, the tantric buddhism was born in India, near Kashmir.. some buddhists learned Tantra with Tantric Shaivists (Trika) masters and took the teachings to buddhism.. even the scriptures are almost the same (Buddha nature instead of Siva nature, though...) it didn't "catch" in Kashmir, but it seems that Tibetans were all into it (maybe some political issues with Bonpos - also tantrikas)

  • .. anyway, Vajrayana is a "modern" vehicle and has preserved tantric teachings way better than the Shaivists (unfortunately plagued by endless wars and invasions in that region).

  • Tantra was first taught by the Buddha, probably at the time the perfection sutras where taught on Vultures Peak.

  • Actually, he did. Read the "story of the Poisoned Arrow"... Buddha didn't tell his students everything they wanted to know.

Also, Kirk, your comment was not made respectfully as you said. Its unskillful to use profanities or to denigrate other practitioners of Buddhism. Its not Right Speech, or Right Intention.

If you don't like Vajrayana Buddhism, then don't practice it. There's no need to disrespect your fellow dharma students like this.

  • @itai82 How can you say no doubt? As if you have any clue. I'm still yet to even hear either of them talk...

  • More likely Tantric Lamas than anything else.

  • @kirk7524875248

Arahants or Arhats practice according to the Theravada tradition while Bodhisattvas practice according to the Mahayana tradition. Tantric yogis featured in the above video practice according to the Vajrayana tradition. The term fully awakened can be subject to misunderstanding, as there are many realizations on the path to Buddhahood.

  • @kirk7524875248 I think you can only tell if you are acually in there presence.

  • Unbelieveable!

  • Also Tantra was taught By the Buddha.
