  • This is so amazing. Cranberries under water? We have them here in Europe too but they grow in the forest. Wet forest yes but not under water. True, i never went to pick them myself to know how it is exactly. By the way i love the music. What is it? And what is that Enya song called?

  • The cranberries are only harvested under water.... the water allows them to float to the surface after the berries are beaten off the bush. They grow in dry bogs. ;)

  • gorgeous! berry beautiful photos:)

  • Thank you Berry much, Joe!

  • Enya and pretty pictures! I love it. Yep, it looks rather bog-like!

  • ya know, I've lived around these bogs all my life and I've never seen the harvest till now!

  • Why are you irrigating your crop with sprinklers? Isn't it a wet enough already, being a BOG?

  • Actually, a bog is dry until it's flooded at the harvest. The sprinklers keep the cranberries from getting damaged with frostbite by putting a protective coating of ice over it. See, learn something new every day! ;)

  • Some really powerful images here. What a wonderful place. Your photography is a joy to view. AND you were featured on Cat and Funny like me, so you must be okay!! Best wishes. Dan =:D

  • Ah, a bond already! Thank you for your kind comments. What a great thing to come home to.

  • And now you have my alter ego on the case too! Abasudika is my other half (of me kinda thing). Two for the price of one! Yey! =:D

  • More proof that you should be a professional photographer! Fantastic images... I love the duck swimming in cranberries... and I found the frog ::grins:: Seriously, you should be working for some magazine.... Loved the music, too!

  • I know it was a wee bit long winded, but it was 10 hours of pickin! My favorite was the ice in the morning. I'm glad you liked it, darlin. Made my day.

  • I've never seen a cranberry bog. Looked like a whole lot of fun for everyone;)

  • come on back to the states and I'll show you just how diverse this little state is ;-)

  • Another lovely day...

  • It really was.

  • I love the word *bog*. Thanks for this gorgeous vid, Gert! I didn't know cranberry harvest could be so beautiful. ;O)

  • lol...bog! Thanks for the kind words, Tahllulah. It was a lovely day.

  • Great images as always Gert. :) I used to pick strawberries as a kid- I ate as many as I picked. Of course you'd hobble back home, with aching back and red mouth in time for dinner and what did you get for dessert? Strawberries! :) I love the images around the 1.30sec mark; the red *cranberry* sea.

    5 stars as usual

  • Thanks darlin'. Cranberries are Way too tart to nibble on as you pick... but now blueberries are another story! Glad you watched.

  • I had NO idea that that is how cranberries are harvested. Very interesting! And such beautiful photographs too!

By the way, I rarely recognised Scotland! ;-))) *hug*

  • See what 10 hours in a bog can produce? Most are just surprised this is NJ! Scotland's next, darlin (silly) Think I could make a buck if I got my act together and sold a few?

  • You mean photographs or cranberries? Photographs should make you rich - cranberries should make you regular ;-)

  • LOL Photographs, silly... kids today! rich???

  • Sure! But then, what do I know? They certainly look very professional.. and I say that sincerely and not in a blowing-sugar-up-your-ass kind of way. :-)

  • I just loved this video!

  • I'm Glad! Thanks for the comment.
