@interpreterr Don't think so; the voice just doesn't sound quite right to me. Of course, we all have up and down days. And there might be something in my ears. ;)
@interpreterr This has been a favorite of mine since I was in college, and an older friend performed it on his senior recital. James was a bright, curious singer, and he wanted to try the songs in the original Greek. Turns out the Greek is a little less, um, demure than the French!
I performed them myself a few years later, but in French.
Fantastic (as usual...it is Thomas Allen and Malcolm Martineau we're hearing here!)...and lovely pictures too. Never seen them before! I think the venue's Wigmore Hall, right? Could I trouble you just a little bit to send them to me? =)
Yes, it is Wigmore Hall - I think it was a rehearsal for their recital there which was then issued on the Wigmore Hall Live label a few years ago.
The venue of the recital in the recording was Prinzregententheater but I don't have any pictures from there (and I wanted to have both Allen and Martineau)
And yes, I'll send them to you when I'm back home (I'm away at the moment)
I'm pretty sure he's in good voice.

Beautiful warm voice! I love these songs and I am studying them now. Good for me to hear these songs by the voice of a bariton, like me.

Cold-y?

@interpreterr Like he has a cold.

Hmm, it doesn't seem to me he had a cold that evening. Maybe it's the quality of the recording that makes you think that?

Wonderful to hear them done by TA.
There was a Greek diner nearby

@interpreterr Continuing my thought-- there was a Greek diner near the campus, and the Greek-to-English translations were provided by the waiters!
