I know it so cute to see the little Marmoset giving a kiss, but did you know idf you suffer from Herpes Simplex (Cole Sores) it can be passed on to the marmoset and will kill it within a week... worth thinking about before little Louie bits your lips again. These monkeys do make great pets as long as you are aware of just how dangerous human viruses are to them in most cases they are fatal.

about the baths as a vet assistant i will tell you that they are needed to maintain a healthy happy primate. marmosets groom and bath themselves in small water puddles or roll in water collected on leaves this keeps them healthy and prevents mites and parasites from getting into the fur and causing disease and infection. so unless you know your your stuff stop pretending like you do know and stop bitching about animal rights and use that energy to i don't know make a difference and do something

i need help...im considering adopting 2 pygmy marmosets. i need a few answers to a few questions. first, do they smell and will baths remove the smell? are they loud? and lastly i know their main source of food in the wild is tree sap so what is the supplement used in captivity?

people who want to give baths to their pets in order to make them smell "good" shouldn't be allowed to keep any in the first place

@ggurks and ppl who know nothing about anything should just stfu. its not like i was going to wash it to make it smell "good" as you put it......its not like i asked if you can have scent glands removed. some animals give off strong musky smells(kinda like your mom) and bathing helps to reduce it(unlike your mom). i asked a simple question and your response is weak and invalid. the primates where i WORK are washed some times......to get the SHIT out of their hair...cause SHIT in hair=unhealthy

Wash don`t remove smell because this smell is urine.

If You want to have no strong smell monkeys must have Saguinus oedipus or Calli Mico Goeldi, rest have strongest odor, all Saguinus (Tamarins) smell good but Callithrix (Marmoset) smell strong, Leontopithecus smell strong too, but You can build special home outside for monkeys and smell is ok :) house must be special heat for winter and have voliere to summer :)

All is no problem when You want so much and have money + time.
