@cheeriosinabowl how is that close minded? Why would you go out your way to click and watch something you don't think is funny and then proceed to comment about how you feel? Seems dumb to me
Doesnt matter if you smoke your whole life or never touch a cig, you can die at any age at any time completely randomly, there are people who smoked from 15 till they were 90 and probably during that time millions of non smokers around the world died from getting hit by cars, heart attacks, aids, getting shot, drowning...its all random and smoking feels good and is delicious. Your gonna die too non smoker pussies, and theres a chance ill be smoking a cig when you do.
@iurhviusdfavhi Smoking greatly increases your chances of dying younger and more painfully...as do certain elements of my own lifestyle...the only difference is I don't deny it and I don't call other people "pussies" for wanting to increase their odds of living a long and healthy life.
he died of pancreatic cancer, a hugely rare form of cancer for anyone of his age.
i only got into his work about 6 months ago, its hard to put into words that you miss a guy who you didn't know about until over 10 years after his death.
i hope to meet him in the one consciousness he spoke of.
@mancheromanchero i do, indirectly, since the gov't creates all sorts of cancers that we consume in our every day lives. cigarettes (though they didnt happen to kill him) are just 1 example. but you'd throw up knowing how much stuff we consume (foods etc) each day that causes cancer.
Yes, I'm not sure if he quit for good but it was a non-smoking related cancer that took him.
By the way, rhcpfan: If you ever read American Scream by Cynthia True you'd know that there was a rift between Leary and Hicks because Leary stole a couple of gags.
He never quit smoking for good. He tried to but ended up smoking cigars. He also began smoking cigarettes again after he found out that he was dying of pancreatic cancer.

@chadpopstar Yeah, but Bill Hicks didn't start smoking until he was 21. He died when he was 32. There's no way a smoking-related cancer would manifest that quickly. I'm pretty sure in Bill's case his pancreatic cancer was genetic.
@rhcpfan4671 at first i think...this must be a troll. but people are actually this stupid, so its hard to call. wanna hear dennis leary get owned in a sentence or 2? listen to bill's answer to the question of whether or not dennis leary stole his jokes, or the question to why bill quit smoking. leary is garbage, and he uses fake passion to overcompensate, rather than the calm, yet passionate way bill worked his act. fuckin dennis leary is an actor. period.

A minor note, but pancreatic cancer *can* be smoking-related.

Great routine, R.I.P. Bill! It has been exactly 15 years since he died. And he still sounds fresh!

@Nezwart Pancreatic cancer is most definitely smoking related
theurbansoul 1 year ago 4
@Nezwart - He died of pancreatic cancer in 1994. Smoking causes pancreatic cancer, too. Patrick Swayze also smoked and died of pancreatic cancer.
