  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is on Every continent across the world and in most countries across the world, in one way or another, either via churches and members or by humanitatian and aid work.

  • @apologeticsman You have totally apostasized from the truth. Not only do you reject the modern apostles and prophets but you reject the authority and teaching of the ancient apostles too. You preach another gospel and as Paul warned you are accursed. (Galatians1:8)

  • @apologeticsman Let's look at this in light of other New Testament teaching. In Mark 16:16 Christ said he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Christ's last commission in Matthew 28:19-20 is to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost.

  • @apologeticsman My friend you are living proof that there was an apostasy from the truth. In John 3:3 Jesus spoke of being spiritually born again. Nicodemus had no understanding and asked how a man could re-enter his mothers womb. Jesus then clarified and said, no I'm not talking about a physical birth, I'm talking about the spiritual birth that takes place when a man enters the Kingdom of God through baptism by immersion for the remission of sins and the gift of the holy ghost by the laying on

  • @apologeticsman Christ gave Peter the Keys of the Kingdom and the ability to seal both in heaven and on earth. Its Peter who was appointed to act for Christ, to receive revelation and to lead the Church. Matt 16:19 Peter was crucified. Do you know who holds the keys today?

Why don't you just stop fighting against Christ and his authorized Church and just repent and be baptized!

  • I repented & was baptized by the Holy Spirit 20 years ago. Jesus holds the keys, & no man ever had the total authority over the church, not even Peter. If you read the context, you will note that Jesus was speaking not just to peter, but to all believers present. The believer in Jesus has the authority to declare someone saved who has placed sole faith in Jesus. We don't save them, we just say with assurance that they are saved. If God left the church abandoned for 1,300 years, God is a failure

  • @apologeticsman Your next problem is that the Gift of the Holy Ghost which is given to baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ can only be given by the laying on of hands of the Apostles or other church officers that they have authorised. Acts 8:18, Acts 19:6

  • @SonOfAdam777 The Gentile believers in Acts 10 had the Holy Spirit given to them before water baptism, and without having been touched by the apostles. The Holy Spirit baptism is the only baptism that saves, and the Holy Spirit will enter any person who truly trusts in Jesus, no works, not apostles and no prophets needed, just faith in the savior. You can't earn or merit a gift, it is given out of love, and Jesus does not require a sinner to save another sinner. Jesus ALONE is savior.

  • @apologeticsman Again your problem is that the Bible goes against what you are saying. And as you don't have authorized servants, all you have is the Bible. Its obvious that the baptism by immersion in water is separate from the baptism or Gift of the Holy Ghost.. Christ said you must be born of the water and the Spirit John 3:5 Two baptisms. Two ordinances. Peter said that after baptism by immersion for the remission of sins you will then receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

  • well, that's YOUR interpretation! As stated above, the Holy Spirit baptism is the only one needed for salvation. Time and time again, we are told that faith alone in Jesus saves us, not what we do, not works, not ordinances,. So, it stands to reason that if the Holy Spirit baptism saves us, and we receive that by faith, that Peter is not saying we must be water baptized to be saved in Acts 2:38. The Bible is God's word, hence it can not contradict itself. Jesus is the authorized authority

  • @SonOfAdam777 when Jesus said we must be born of water and spirit, He was not speaking of water baptism, but of the water we are all born from as babies in the flesh. The amniotic fluid is the water he is referring to, and we are all first born by water, then if we trust in Jesus, we will be born by spirit. ---continued

  • The LDS problem is context. You take the words from a verse or passage that you want to support your beliefs, & throw away the rest. In the context, Jesus is talking about natural birth, verses spiritual birth. The Pharisee is asking about salvation, & Jesus tells him that salvation is a spiritual, not physical experience. The Pharisee asks Him, "can a man reenter the womb and be born again" & Jesus says that we need to be born from a woman (water) & by spirit. Jesus then says--continued

  • then, Jesus makes this statement; "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit" This shows that when He said born of water, He was referring to natural birth, and then He showed that Spiritual birth is the rebirth. The erroneous conclusion that Jesus is talking about water baptism is not supported by the text, and is not logically derived from the context of the passage. I suggest you get a Greek dictionary and a good study Bible and find these truths out for yourself

  • @apologeticsman Men have been changing the holy ordinances and doctrines of Christ since 100AD. You don't have any real inspired men to keep you on the straight and narrow. Thats why Christ gave the Church Apostles and Prophets so that you wouldn't be tossed around with every wind of doctrine. (Eph 4) Fortunately for us Christ has restored the Church and we have the guidance of Apostles and Prophets once again.

  • Beginning with the story of Enos in the Book of Mormon, Andersen explained how Enos recognized the importance of small decisions. Highlighting Enos' decision to pray all day and night, Andersen stated that this became one of the pivotal moments that Enos chose to write about in his 27 verses of scripture.

  • Andersen quoted Winston Churchill as he admonished the young adults to watch for and be aware of "the sharp agate points, on which the ponderous balance of destiny turns." Weaving these words throughout his talk, Andersen shared experiences in the scriptures, his own life and the lives of others that show the importance of remaining righteous at all times.

  • In addition to her memories, which include one of President Thomas S. Monson picking out a simple tune on the piano at the cultural celebration and the colorful dances and tributes, she has a swollen ankle. She was so excited to see the Lavrik family that she rushed over the uneven cobblestones and sprained it.

    But that's OK.

  • "We took Maryna to church," Holyoak said. "She took her sister and brother and her parents. Now there are five in the church. Her older sister, Nastia, was just married in the Freiburg Temple. The younger brother wants to go on a mission. Maryna wants to go on a mission too."

Holyoak describes the members as "so devout, so sincere."

  • I challenge anyone to show me in the Bible where a church member is referred to as a "baptized believer"

  • @apologeticsman He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt 28:19

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:27

  • @LukeAir2008 Yes, it has been fairly recently revealed to me through honest seeking and prayer that when it says "He who believes and is baptized" it is saying that believing (trusting) in Jesus automatically brings Holy Spirit Baptism which is the true baptism. Water baptism is not the baptism that saves. See 1 Corinthians 12:13 and Ephesians 4:4-6

  • Great, mormons and Jews teaming according to LDS website. Jews are the seeds of satan as Jesus said John 8:44. Guess LDs forgot what Jesus warned about.

    JESUSWASNOTAJEW . COM

  • @Prothink2 Jesus did not practice what we know as modern Rabbinic Judaism, but He is most definitely Jewish by blood and by adoption. By blood on the side of His mother Mary, whose lineage is clearly seen as being Jewish, and by adoption on the side of Joseph, whose lineage is also clearly Jewish.

  • @apologeticsman Ok this begs to ask WHAT is a Jew and how do you prove who is one or not?

  • there r mormons in portugal?

  • Indeed there are. Quite a few of them as well.

  • @camaramanoel their are mormons all over the world.

  • awesome =) I'm getting wet this Saturday..can't wait.

  • Congratulations ParrishYo on such an important step. And welcome to the Church.

  • @camaramanoel Since they are deceivers to begin with, all they have done is baptized this poor soul into Hell. I am praying for the true conversion of all Latter Day Saints! My LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ is not the brother of Satan! The Book of Mormon is not Scripture, and the Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and Articles of Faith are not truth!

  • @ParrishYo ..im getting my baptism next month...excited :)

  • This is my baptism in Setubal, Portugal, in 1990. The ordinance was performed by Venancio Caleira, then Bishop of Setubal's first ward. I was confirmed by a good friend, also from Setubal, Luis Miguel Martins.

  • "And the Lord said unto him: I give unto you power that ye shall baptize this people when I am again ascended into heaven."

  • @omiolo "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Romans 1:16-18

  • @apologeticsman you disappeared on that other video, when I was questioning why EVANGELICALS have the tendency to drop the Bible when discussing the Bible and its doctrines. Why was that?

  • @omiolo I have no idea what you mean. I drop the Bible occasionally, but it is not deliberate. If you mean I don't use the Bible to back up the discussion about the Bible, then that makes no sense. I always back up Bible discussions with Bible verses.

  • @apologeticsman you have no idea what I am referring to?
