  • do another season when Avon gets out!

  • how you just gonna walk across the field mid game and make them call a timeout

  • "Somewhat of an authority figure"...shit, he wasn't kiddin neither!

  • "Timeout..........Back In"

    #Royalty

  • Avon Feel Like a Sir

  • "and the day you come aaaaahhhttt" Wee Bay kills it

  • Details and senses: at 1:08 and 1:53 he saw tha Cut wouldn't same Cutty, Bay couldn't see it but Avon smelled it of him. Bay kept see what was, Avon smelled, felt and saw what is now............

  • That's a boss the way he crossess the field.

  • @reapercrew1122 yea avon was a real boss a straight old school player. i dont think marlo would EVER get the actual respect avon got in the show no matter how many people he liked to kill. you gotta have amixture of fear and respect and avon had just the perfect balance

  • Avon should have been throwing out first pitch!

  • Avon goes, everyone stop playing and wait untill he passed. epic!

  • Anyone know if the murder was a real refrence? I'm assuming Pennsie and gold is actually Pennsylvania ave in BMore.

  • Avon crossing the field LIKE A BOSS

  • Coach.

  • @0:30 <------- worst spit throughout all seasons

  • So, was Cutty Weybey's Cut buddy?

  • they took a time out on the game to let avon walk past! lol.. the wire full of little moments like this that u can easily miss!!

  • Cutty's like "Sex, LOL".

  • Damn, Avon's stockin cap goes around his ears. That gotta hurt lol

  • He a man now.

  • "an authority figure" one might say

  • no one would stop SHIT if it was marlo's ass walkin through the field

  • I would suck his black cock

  • Cutty talk like a old slave LOL

  • all yall faggots commenting on the dislike bar really need to get some pussy, money, or weed

  • Elijah Davis disliked this video from the grave

  • Byrd disliked this video and the cocksucking liars.

  • The wire was dead on when it cam to reality in the hood the way avon speaks of the towers being gone and how he has to relocate business reminds me of the old heads here in chicago when they start tearin down all the project and hi rises but it true what they say the hood is the hood no matter what hood

  • One guy didn,t like Avon walking across His baseball field

  • Anyone surprised Avon got respect in jail when he has Weebay's lethal ass with him doing life with no parole?

  • They all got quiet when Avon strolled across the field LOl

  • Fuck a du-rag, Avon keepin it gangsta wit the old-school stockin cap!

  • cutty: i did 14 years

avon: yeah you did your little stretch...

haha avons just acting likes it no thing at all

  • Avon has some long-ass arms.

  • Avon >>>> Marlo

  • cutty had a nice welcome when he came out lol

  • Avon the boss but he can't spit as well as Bodie!

  • As if they stopped the game for avon to walk across! He is unbelievable!

  • This prison scene is not in Jessup, Maryland. The prison is actually Lorton's Central Facility, in Lorton, Virginia!

  • @nuchie58

ment to be in jessup may not be filmed on location but if u were in baltimore nd u went to prison it be in jessup, thats what it means by the title.

  • Weebay scenes always my fav, love his swag and way he talks

  • visual storytelling, The Wire uses TV for what it's worth, its visual, word is cheap for king avon now we know

  • @uunit08 I think it's obvious they weren't clapping him. The point is the rep he had on the street and the influence he has inside, no one wants to brain him with a baseball do they? So they stop playing as he walks through (as well, you think anyone else could just stroll through a prison baseball game - another example of his power on the inside)??? Dude knows they're going to stop and is sending a small message showing his power.

  • So natural

  • great scene; Avon's weight timing out the game; watch later in this episode where Cutty walks thru his neighborhood; as bad as it had to be 14 years ago, he cannot believe it, like post WWII Europe; One could pray that Simon and Burns and company were making this up, that our cities and people havn't been throw into the ditch, left to rot; a nation that embraces such a system, of socio-darwinism every man for himself and nothing for women and children can be many things but it CAN BE CHRISTIAN

  • @badbadkingjohn ders nuffin made up abt dis..im from bmore..der no made-up sets..nuffin chnge around..its 100 real bmore..the part they hide

  • pennsy & gold in broad daylight thats some hard shit

  • that seems like something that would happen if omar walked past lol

  • @imaqtat16 nah they woulda had his way with omar like they did in the series when he went to jail. barksdale has a crew and he is connected.

  • I was looking for this clip! You know Avon is the man when they call a time out just to let him walk thru...

  • Does anybody know what weebay was talking about near the end? "Dat dud ain't breakin. Nah"

  • @kandinskyforfootball Avon tells him that he thinks that being in prison has made cutty soft, wee bey tells him that cutty shot someone in broad day light then called the police and told them that he just shot someone and to come and get him, 'that dude ain't breakin nah' means that prison won't a(e?)ffect someone who did that

  • @PurpleGiraffePG. Ok that makes sense now. But why would a soldier tell the police to come and get him after shooting some1? That doesn't happen very often.

  • @kandinskyforfootball sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit if i know

  • @PurpleGiraffePG. Probably an indication of him later leaving the game.

  • @kandinskyforfootball

I thought he was saying "Hes nots breaking, hes been broke"

He showed signs of being out of the game by calling 911 for his victim

Atleast thats how I interpretted it

  • @TheGoodMajor44 I think that's what actually happened, he felt compassion for his victim, but I think all the corner boys and "gangstas" back then interpreted it as him calling the police just to fuck with them, and the legend grew.

  • @unluckymonkeyboy I hadnt thought of that.

Knowing how Cutty was after prison. I got the impression he had some morality

  • @TheGoodMajor44 NAW I JUST GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT HE HAD DONE ENOUGH.AND WAS TIRED.LIKE MY UNK.SOMEONE MURDERED A FAMILY MEMBER BACK IN THE DAY AND HE "DID"ANY ONE THAT MAY HAVE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT..WENT TO PRISON ,GOT OUT AND SLIGHTLY CHANGED HIS GAME.THAT SHIT DONT LEAVE YOU .YOU ALWAYS ARE WHAT YOU ONCE WERE.

  • @kandinskyforfootball Avon said the joint might have broke him, meaning he wants to go straight when he gets out. Bey told the story that he was so menacing in his younger days he killed someone in broad daylight and was ballsy enough to call the cops and let them know. He ain't breakin meaning he'll be hard for life.....he was wrong

  • dat nigga avon just walked thru the game cuz he built like dat, real nigga shit

  • :21-:37

    Power.

  • :21-:37

    Power.

  • Lol if this was the REAL CUTT OUT JESSUP..... well OFcourse not this is a fictional story. They close the cutt down and sent the remaining ppl thru diff jails and fed jails thru out the country. the cutt was one of the worst jails in the country right along with Lorton. The helicopter use to land on the cutt couple times a wk to carry out niggas that got poked up

  • the day you go in....

  • What the hell am I watching here? I did about 1 year in Jessup MD. Also, 1 year in Supermax, 401 East Madison St. Baltimore MD.

  • clinton did you meet willie horton?

  • No, not that I know of. I knew one white guy on death row. I hated that little bastard. I asked him if he thought they were going to execute him, he said "I hope not". I don't think MD has executed anyone for many years. I knew a guy that was locked up with Arthur Bremmer, the guy that shot George Wallace.

  • avon just walk on to the field they stoped playing waited for him to walk by then continued playing......lol absolute respect

  • lol i no what be first "pussy" nigga of course

    weebays jokes

  • I really find it intriguing and kind of messed up how Avon consistently refers to how little time or how hes going to be getting out of jail soon right in front of Wee Bay, a man who is spending life in prison for murders committed for Barksdale.

    excellent drama.

  • Prison is a whole different world than the outside. Sure some people respect Avon for what he did on the outside, but im sure he made plenty of enemies as well. Also, what about the leaders of the jail before Avon arrived? i dont see them ceding power to avon the minute he shows up. Avon was king of those towers, his reach wasnt too far beyond that.

  • all i can say is avon is a figure head like he said in the season when marlo came to visit him in prison... there can be more than one figure head we dont no this but all we can see is avon runs shit

  • people respect him for what he has done on the streets in the past... its the samethin with marlo, people fear him and his crew

  • i cant see avon being the king of jail so fast. Why would everyone bow down to him? Sure he was the king on the outside, but the prison had a hierarchy long before Avon stepped foot in that jail. He had never even been to jail before this stint.

  • Cutty was definitely one of the most redemptive characters on the show, along with Walon and Bubbles.

  • God I wanna play some baseball

  • TIME OUT

  • Cutty wasn't turning himself in, he was taunting the cops.

  • Dhatts Tha Funniess Shit i Ever Heard iN My Life Shot Someone in Broad day light called the police an told them to come get his ass ... uqhhh too funny !!!!

  • Avon letting people know that he's the King. It's a smart move.

  • @AJW2184 man this is the biggest display of AVON'S ROLE IN PRISON....A MAJOR PLAYER IN PRISON....Especially when MARLO WAS SO CALLED WEARIN THE CROWN tryin to sneek a meet with SERGIO (REMEMBER THAT?)....Avon was like SURPRISE!!! ROFL....AVON HAD RESPECT..MARLO ONLY HAD FEAR. I'd take the respect anyday...

  • cutty was sik listen 2 the end it says why he went in the killed soem 1 in day light and called 911 and said i just shot some 1 come get him looooool

  • maybe bay's story about cutty was designed by the writers to tell you he never was meant for the game. i mean, he killed a guy and then immediately called the police and turned himself in? i guess he always had a concience.

  • mufc you misunderstood the story that wee-bay told about cutty. He said that cutty called the police after shooting someone in broad daylight and he killed the cops and said "i just shot a nigga come get him" he didn't turn himself in, that was meant to show how hard he was, because before that story you don't know anything about cutty except that he had been in jail a long time. That story was meant to show how cold cutty was

  • i get bay's story 100%, i'm saying, like avon, maybe bay misunderstood cutty too. intentionally doing 15 years in jail is not something a cold-hearted murderer does. if the writers simply wanted to paint him as a ruthless killer, there are many ways they could've conveyed that. what i'm suggesting is that bay and the others maybe never realised is that cutty always had a conscience and that's the real reason he turned himself in. maybe it was a subliminal message from the writers. just my take.

  • he didnt turn himself in

  • i see. i thought bay said he told the police "i just shot a nigga, come get me" rather than "come get him". i heard it wrong. but my point still stands. there's no doubt bay is trying to get avon to understand how hard cutty was. but if cutty associated himself with the murder and ended up doing the bid because of that phonecall, maybe he wanted to get caught. and maybe it was because, even then, he had a consciense. the wire throws so many of these subliminal things in, you never know.

  • @mufc187 it's not like Cutty only killed that one guy then turned himself in. Cutty soldiered for a long time. And while Wee Bey does mention that story to Avon, the whole reason Avon reached out to him was cause Cutty had a reputation for being a good soldier.

There's nothing that suggests Cutty turned himself in, other than you mishearing the story.

  • it's about interpretation. he shot a guy, then called 911 and told them he'd done it. that may not be turning yourself in, but it's asking for trouble. what i'm suggesting is that he may have wanted to get caught on some level. the writers of the show deliver several subtle messages throughout. maybe cutty wanted to get caught because he had had enough and bay and everyone else had misread the situation. after all, they clearly didn't realise upon his release that he wasn't a soldier anymore.

  • This scene is very straight forward.

Calling from a payphone is anonymous. It's like saying Omar wanted to get caught cause he used the hotel phone to tell the cops Brother Mouzone was shot. And the point of Bey's story is that anyone who would drop a body in broad daylight and taunt the cops is probably way too hard to break.

Cutty hadn't "had enough" until 14 years in jail. 14 years was a long time, he's now a grown man, and he clearly doesn't want to do 14 more.

    It's just that simple

  • i get the point of bay's story. i'm just saying maybe he got it wrong, just like he got it wrong suggesting cutty to avon as a soldier when he was released. very little in The Wire is straightforward and there's nothing wrong with taking a different interpretation. there were a number of ways to make cutty appear cold-hearted. i just think bay's story could be open to interpretation. to kill someone, then call the police is asking for trouble. or maybe, subconsciously, it's asking for a way out.

  • I agree. Shit, a nigga spends 14 years in jail, when he gets out, he's rehabiliated. He doesn't want stand out on the corner or do any muscling up. He wants to better his life and obviously that's what Cutty wanted to do. He wanted to improve the quality of his life and make some changes rather than indulging in all that gangsta bullshit.

  • the story was before he soldiered with Avon. It just shows the kind of man he is.

  • what power if you dont push it he gotta do shit like that otherwise ya know

  • avon couldv'e walked around, lol

cutty looking at avon like, 'young buck' you ani't shit. hahaha

  • lol that's funny

  • barksdale crew 4 eva !!!

  • thats respect...avon walking thru the game...everybody stopped

  • Roryraw14 you know it's a movie, right. Ain't nobody doin that in the cut for real. Avon thorough and all but it ain't like that in the cut. Plus Avon wouldn't disrespect like that. His moments wasn't with no ball game, lol. Stay up soldier. Not this lil skinny dude but i'm talking about the real Avon.

  • Two of my favorite and hardest characters on the show. Avon Barksdale and Wee-Bey Brice.

  • Look at the swagger of Avon, he walks by and the game stops. Power, even on the inside.

  • True, but I'm guessing they would anywhere round where he lived. Obviously not if he strolled through central park or somewhere outside west baltimore.

  • Hell yeah

  • @robertmurray7782 RUNNIN SHIT!

  • @robertmurray7782 they wouldnt ov did that for marlow.

  • @robertmurray7782 Yea.... what an obnoxious prick.

  • @robertmurray7782 swagger was the only thing missing

  • HERE'S WEE BAY IN THE MOVIE "IN TOO DEEP" BEFORE THE WIRE

    watch?v=yRsOrApHKQo
