I think you're really playing down just how ruthless this "overgrown book club" is but I agree that the best way to take them down is to cut their money flow.
Scientology is a business more then a religion and if a business isn't making money, it dies.
Anon has done much in that dept already however it's nothing that Scientology can't still recover from. It'll probably require about another year or so of protesting before we start inflicting irrepairable damage.

It's not even really a religion, if you think about it.
Religion is supposed to enlighten people and provide them with a meaningful explanation for the world.

Well Cherry, I think stopping it is probably not possible. As long are they are delusional, lost souls, there will always be cults like Scientology. On the other hand (and to our benefit) it does make for terrific spoofing material & comedy while at the same time - having their precious scam and mind job made fun of, seems to upset them ("them" being the lost and confused maniacs who make up the "religion"). The protests are more of to spread the truth. A lot of people are ignorant even though the information is out there, in plain view. Since the first, the numbers involved in the fight against Scientology have increased. It's been given media attention and that itself is key to exposing the cult.
