The transector bodies need humans to pilot them, since humans have awarness and those things don't. While they are being merged with humans, the transector bodies are being programed with personalities.

Transformers went mad after season 3 and because most of us are REAL fans, we will watch the new eposides & then realise they're just using the original Transformers to keep our interest going whilst it makes no sense. Like I watched the return of Galvatron & Soundwave ran away from something real petty and the old Soundwave wouldn't back down in any way, unless he was told by Galvatron or Megatron, totally messed up the original character. But it's all fun I suppose, better then nothing right ?

ok, Prime died during the Headmaster series(Im referring to the Jap series). The body or transector that Ginrai was using was meant for Prime(known as Convoy in the Jap series). Ginrai and Convoy are two different characters though they looked to be the same.

Later Japan came with Headmasters, Masterforce, Robots In Disguise, Armada, Cybetron and Energon, which all sucked ass by the way except for Masterforce, RiD and Armada was kinda okay.

The toys are orginally called Dialones.

The toys were from several different unrelated toy lines. Hasbro actually changed the heads and colors on a lot of them so they would look like they fit together. The Autobot cars optimus, the Dinobots , Insecticons, and Decepticon planes were from Diaclone, Megatron Soundwave and the other object formers weree from Microman...others were'nt even Takara molds.
